Hi Dave, best screen I found to deflect wind when I had VFR was the double bubble race screen, I had the Puig branded one. Pushes the air to either side and creates a sweet spot in the middle. Made the bike more comfortable for motorway stretches, so might help for blogging. Worth a try

As I mentioned, my gen 2 vfr750f is gorgeous. One of the only bikes I have ridden and within 2 mins, felt like I'd owned it forever. I did test ride a 2003 Vtec and the kick in was dangerous. If you Google the early Vtecs you'll see there was an issue on some bikes but later ones, also which I've ridden were cured. So pleased you like it and understand how I feel about V engines in general, not just V4s. Yes my bikes ride better after washing, must be a science behind that. Just be relieved you weren't following a manure lorry! All these comments proving I didn't just skip watch your upload... 😉 ☺ BTW, get my insta 360 x3 Tuesday, love the one x so looking forward to better quality. Looking forward to uploading my restored Rothmans cbr600f jelly mould soon.

Part of the issue was due to the T-Stat failing which meant the VTEC was kicking whilst the engine was too cold. Even though there is a safety feature that prevents it working until 66C, it was still rough as hell. The reason why I know this is because I had many of them over the years. Love your channel btw 👍

Hi, I have zero gravity touring wind screen and it is much better than any others, because it has a double bubble and longer wind screen which cuts the wind and sends upwards. It is comfortable for touring imo. I'm 185cm high and I've done more than 60.000kms with it.

I've always said, the 6th gen VFR has to be one of the most beautiful bikes ever made. Btw, the whole car wash thing... I'm glad someone else thinks that way haha. Great vid. Looking forward to seeing your adventures on her, I have to admit I'm tempted to get another myself. Take care.

MRA screen with the deflector. I had one on my VFR and it looked good. It was the best screen for deflecting wind noise. I tried 4 different ones. Nothing eliminates the wind noise completely, especially as you have a GS to compare to.

So nice to see a Clutch and Brake reservoir made from alloy, instead of the usual plastic. I would have a look at Pyramid plastics (Puig) Dave, i have not had a VFR one, but had many over the years and have always seemed to work the best with regards wind and buffeting, with reasonable quality, and great choice.

Nice video, thanks. I love the VFR and I am on my 2nd 4th gen now. Bought it cheap put in a lot of elbow grease and now it looks quite presentable for a 27 year (she is from ’96) old bike. On my previous VFR I tried a larger screen, looks awful. It will never turn into a ST1100… To me the VFR is 65% sport and 35% tourer, after all the ‘R’ stands for racing. Comfort on the VFR is quite good, you just cannot avoid the wind. So I keep my VFR for pure joy rides, on a nice summers evening or a cold, sunny, dry Saturday. I usually do ride everyday (except for icy conditions) and most miles are done on a 33 year old ST1100. According to the original Honda brochure also a sports-tourer… Well, to me the Pan is 80% tourer and 20% sports. But it is the bike I will always return to.

Hi again Dave! Great video of your lovely new refreshed VFR800 vetch in wonderful candy red! Interestingly I have a 22 year old VFR800F (the non-vetch version predating yours) that i also love to ride! As you probably know, I also bought an Aprilia RS660 recently that is smaller & lighter than the Honda & is full of tech as you know, but for me I love that sporty, lean forward position of both bikes! I’ll let you know how I get on with both over the Spring & Summer! Keep safe & the shiny side up! 😎👍

I remember when the VFR750 came out in 1986ish it was a big improvement over the VF750 and they really sorted the V4 engine. Your bike looks great it really makes me want to go and find one.

Great video. Are you based in Cavan area..? Saw you spinning by Flair. I giggled at the car wash comment because I feel the exact same 🤭 I love washing our cars. There's something very therapeutic about it. I'm off now to watch some more of your content on this fantastic looking machine

The best screen on this bike its the stock one because it deflects the right amount of wind of the body and the turbulent air hits at the shoulders wich is perfect, if its a double bubble or a higher screen the turbulent air hits right in the face/eyes so you cant ride with the visor open (slow speed) the turbulent air noise is unbearable, hope that helps, its just my opinion based on what ive tried.

I just fit an MRA Vario touring screen to my Blackbird, and it seems to work well. It has a built in spoiler; I think the spoiler makes all the difference, causing an increase in air pressure up the screen and behind the spoiler which creates a shield. A curved lip with that jet of air seems to keep it off my head. Prior to that I had a double bubble, which was only useful if I tucked down behind it.

Amazing job Dave, Love it, love it, Love it. Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh. Had my first ride out this year today, so missed being in the saddle. Also wore my Zero Fit thermal layer. Quite effective but still need the heated vest and gloves. At least I got away with just one layer underneath the heated vest as opposed to two or sometimes three in Scotland.🥶

I owned a VF 500 F2 which had such a bad reputation for cam issues that they developed the VFR 750 with gear driven cams. The rest is history.

Hi Dave, Sounds like you have a new favourite? All that work and great looks (the bike!) and you are happy to take it out on salt laden winter roads for our entertainment. Kudos! I guess a liberal application of ACF50 will be applied. Waxoyl was my favourite when I was a year round biker/commuter on my ST1100. It will be interesting to hear how she fares on some of the more challenging west coast roads (lanes?) I guess you will chose the GS or VFR depending on the routes?

I tried the Double Bubble, then the stock with a Laminar Lip, then settled on the stock alone. Lots of wind on the upper torso but at least it's nice clean air, the buffeting from the others was driving me nuts. If I want a wind free zone I'll get a Goldwing! And if you're still trying to spend money, consider replacing the front springs (preferably when the fork seals inevitably spring a leak). I was talked into getting slightly stiffer ones on my 2003, since the labor for replacing them at the time was nil, and the handling is much improved. Springs do get old and saggy after 16 yrs.

@@aher89able About 6' 1". Custom fitted hearing protection and a quiet Schuberth helmet are more important than the windscreen, IMHO!

Hi Dave, entertaining video as usual, great work with the chanel. Just got my license 2 years ago and the vfr is the 2nd bike of 3 in my garage. Lovely bike to go out on with mates or just on your own. Do find it needs a bit of coaxing around the country road corner's of Wexford but when you get it out on the regional roads it comes into its own. Enjoy the bike as I know you will and I look forward to a comparison video. Keep up the great work.

@@WheelieGoodTV Just bought another VFR 2014, price was a little high! Paid 7800 US out the door, it has 4600 miles on it with new Michelin Road 6 Gt tires, my Z900RS Cafe has Dunlop Q5s, I kinda like the Michelin better.

I've got the givi screen on my vfr800 too, like you said, its not much better than the original screen, so I fitted a cheap wind deflector & it made an improvement while it lasted, but the mechanism on the wind deflector is made of plastic & started to slip, anything above 50mph & the WD would blow back, eventually the mechanism snapped & I'm back to square one, so I'm looking at the American brand MRA with the better WD built in.

Hi John, all the settings are on the touch panel on the receiver. If you’re doing what I’m doing you’ll need to wind down the gain on the transmitters and receiver. It’s trial and error and depending on which bike I’m on the settings are different. I wind the tx and rx gains down to -10 and then take the gain on the camera down to -8. Good luck.👍🎥

Most people go for a bigger screen, I went the other way and got a sports screen which transformed the bike. The stock screen on my tracer 900 gt was terrible.

Thanks. When I bought my VFR last year it had Road 5 GT’s on and the front feels quite vague so was wondering if the stiffer sidewall on the tyre was causing it.
