Had a 2002 VFR-800, that was my first bike, I loved it. Buuutttt, I was a little shit and sold it for a '16 CBR650F because I just wanted something new. I loved the 650 too, but there was just something missing with it. Gave that one to my wife and got a '17 fireblade... Man, it's great having 180+ horsepower pulling you into warp speed, but it's super uncomfortable, I had to start wearing a brace... It had loads of tech, and amazing everything, but I was pretty much laying on my wrists the entire time. I started to hate the bike, tbh. If I wasn't going 80+ mph constantly, it was not fun. It got totalled recently though. So I'm going back to my first love, but a 2014 model. Nothing beat its feel, sound, and character (though the 650 was marginally more comfortable, but I'm just gonna get some risers for the Interceptor, and I'll be set). Same color as my first interceptor, too. In red. Like a pretty lady in a red dress. I'm never going for a Supersport again. It was more trouble than it was worth. If you're looking for another bike, there's no equal to comfort. I'd rather have ridden a cbr500 or even a 300 over the 'blade. I'd stick with the Interceptor, they also age very well.
Honda makes a set of 1" risers factory-matched to the triple clamp and clip on extensions. Interceptor is still a good seller in Europe, so your dealership should be able to source them The main problem with the Interceptor is that they stopped making the damn things for NA, thus it's getting very difficult to find a new DLX (particularly in red) anywhere. Seeing as these have creeped below $10, I'm frustrated that I won't be in a financial position to buy one until late next year, by which I'm worried they'll all be gone
Yeah.. how is the comfort? I'm 5'4" and I'm planning to get a 8th gen vfr800 but. Afraid that it might give me some pain on the wrist as cycle-ergo.com says that I'll have a 32 degree lean angle on the bike
Dude trade in your bike. You’re not a motorcyclist. Anyone who says “I prefer the air conditioning, cold drinks and tunes over my bike” is not a motorcyclist. Heat index in Louisiana right now is 107 and I ride every day. In full gear. And I own a nice car.
I don't really trust first ride reviews because they don't mean shit. But more than a year reviews are trustworthy. I'm thinking about this over a naked 600 the looks are good but I don't know about the power since I'm young and wanna go fast 😁
How do you find insurance cost to be on this? I priced it out and it’s ridiculous especially compared to all other bikes I have owned. In NYC they want $2400 for full coverage insurance when my Ducati was half that.
Insurance is no joke. Its probably because its NYC or maybe you are a much younger rider? Car/motorcycle is not a luxury, gas and insurance is a luxury lol
