Thanks for watching and subscribe! The vance and hines are very aggressive and way louder… i also prefer the cobras (but as it turned out i sold the red one but still have the yellow bike)
I agree regarding the cobra pipes they have that deeper base that Carrie’s right through the revs. I had them on an 08 Shadow Saber that I wish I never sold. I went to look at an 06 VTX1300 today with 4500 miles on it and the dealer failed to tell me they sold it yesterday when I got there.
I just bought an 07 shadow sabre 1100 that has Vance&Hines. It sounds throaty and deep, it is such an aggressive tone. The bike really stands out on the streets. Im in love with it
Thanks for watching and subscribe! Yeah they give the bike a nice sound, especially at low rpms. The V&H are way louder and more aggressive, but I prefer the cobras
I spent about a week fixing some running issues on my 2003 vtx 1300 s. I had some popping sounds during deceleration. I was surprised when a neighbor of mine showed up to complain about the loud noises. She mentioned that she works from home. My bike has cobra pipes. They have a deep and loud rumble I love. Ride safe. Both bikes look great.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! I prefer the cobra exhaust, the hines is very loud and a little too aggressive for me, the cobra pipes were just right for that bike. But every one has their preferences!
Have an 05 C with V & H Longshot pipes. Best sound i've heard IMO. After getting nailed by the cops for loud noise I bought V & H's "quiet baffles" and swapped them out to keep from getting hit up and also to respect my neighbors as I'm an early morning guy. They actually bring the sound towards your Cobra pipes and still sound very good but tamed down. I do get very tempted to put the original baffles back in as I miss the throaty/aggressive sound they gave. I love the VTX's! You have 2 nice bikes and they both sound good! Cheers!
I have Vance and Hines on my '09 1300C. Bike has also been de-smogged with the pair valve delete. It sounds awesome. In fact it sounds better than my 2008 Honda VTX 1800T with Vance and Hines. Both your bikes sound great, but I am partial to the Vance and Hines sound.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! The 1800 is quite a bit more powerful, but the 1300s seem to sound better (when stock and when they have an exhaust)
Man I usually dont dig yellow but But this time I fell in love ,,,,, the sound and solo seat exactly how I'd run her.. cheers for the upload. from down under.
I’ve got an 07 C in Coronado Blue and the full exhaust Cobra drag pipes. I like them but they pop on decel. Previously had an 07 R with V/H slip-ons. Both are nice exhaust with a deep rumble at idle and sound like a race car at speed. By far the best exhaust I ever ran were 3.5” Rineharts on my Harley tho.
The yellow with the v&h was louder. I have a 1800 with cobra, I had Rinehart that I really liked, but wore out after about 18 years. Mines is a 02 and I'm still riding it after 20 years.
Cobra. They pipes seems to create more bass. Vance and Hines sounds loud, but hollow on gas. Cobra is my favourite. The wine red colour tone kills me ❤.
The long shots have a crossover section between the two pipes if I remember correctly. Similar to an x or h pipe on a v8 car. Evens out the exhaust pulses making it sound more like one engine vs sounding like two engines fighting with each other to be heard ( as in typical Harley Davidson fashion).
I've got 2004 VTX1300C which I had put in storage for the last 5 years until now. Never had time to ride. It's red like your 2006. I had thought about selling it but got it back out because of the gas prices being so high. I like the sound of both but prefer the Vance and Hines. I'll be getting a set when I can afford them. A while ago I heard the Jug Huggers by Bubz and thought they sounded the best of all. Don't think they're available anymore though.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! They’re really amazing bikes, they’re well known to last over 100,000 miles as long as you maintain them. I have 6 bikes, including a honda valkyrie and a honda vtx1800r (the valkyrie is my favorite)
How long were the Cobra pipes on the bike at the time of this video? My experience with my pipes is that they got louder over time. Both bikes sound great.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! I am not sure but if i had to guess i would say at least 5 years. The vance and hines will always be louder, they’re just so mean sounding
Yellow. Did it need any re-jetting? Those were the V & H right? I bet if you drop the bowl on the accelerator pump ( NOT THE FLOAT BOWL) and clean it out, it will run better.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! Honestly with a cruiser i dont feel like i needed the extra power, but i do prefer the fuel injection that the 1800 has. The 1300 felt plenty powerful for me, and it handles better. But if you plan on riding on the highway alot then the 1800 is better. Both are high quality bikes!
Do both of those have baffles in the pipes? I test rode a Suzuki M50 with unbaffled VH exhaust and it was really loud. I think a light baffle in those pipes tames it enough where it's not obnoxious but you still have a mean rumble.
I've always liked the sound of Vance & Hines on bikes I've heard, but now hearing slashcut Cobras on a 1300c Vtx, I really like the sound of them better than the Vance & Hines. Side by side the Cobras sound lot better to me. They're not as harsh and have a deeper rumble to me. I have them on my '06 VTX now!
i like them both, u get a low decibel provocative growl that sounds mean and alive yet respectful of neighbors with cobra compared to loud growl near bite with the v&h that says "respect me, i'm the boss B#*$&".
Thanks for watching and subscribe! To this day I still don’t know which one i like better , check out all my bikes on my channel! I actually have a Suzuki m50 that so sound nice
hello everyone. I listened to this video for about a month, once or twice a week, and I thought and composed exhaust sounds. My personal, subjective choice is: I start the motorcycle with COBRA and while riding I change to V&H :) The sound of COBRA when stationary is, in my opinion, "deeper, stronger, more bassy, BUT when you accelerate, the sound becomes a bit weak, it loses depth and power. V&H is the opposite when stationary." it's great, but it lacks the depth like in Cobra, you accelerate and it gets better 😀 one thing is certain - I still don't know which one to choose 🙄 Maybe COBRA on one cylinder and second V&H ? 😅😂
@@Drive315 The idle air mixture screw, or air/fuel screw is on the bottom of the carb, it uses a “D” shape fitting to turn it, definitely hard to reach. Turning it out, or counter-clockwise enriches the idle mixture. I installed an aftermarket air/fuel screw with a cable and a knob on the end that can be adjusted on the fly, from Glen’s VTX Garage 🤙
Hey I changed my exhaust on my 2006 vtx 1800 c2 and the original had a hole where was plugged a sensor and the cobra doesn’t has the hole to put the sensor, what can I do with the sensor, just zip tie or I need buy something else ?
At 1:40 notice the cobra is about 3ft to the left of the camera and the hines is about 1ft to the right, the hines got better sound quality because it was closer.
Thanks for watching and subscribe, the hines is alot louder in person, but i think the cobras sounded just right in my opinion. I only have the yellow one now
I've got V&H pipes on my 02 VTX 1800c. They sound almost the same but mine probably sound a little more aggressive just because of the bigger motor. lol
The 1300 is a perfect bike, the 1800 is a little top heavy, the 1100 and 750 don’t quite have the muscle. Nice bikes brother, the V+H are definitely my fave for both sound and quality. PS maybe go up one on the main jets on the yellow bike, does it backfire a lot under deceleration too ?
@@Drive315 oh ok cool, this will actually help though as it’s not as big a change, open the pilot screws another turn, that will warm it up better and eliminate any off idle stumbles, they always come a little lean for the sniffer test, it’ll run better regardless I guarantee it. It may just have a cooler thermostat too. Thanks again for sharing buddy.
It sounds like a honda pilot 3.5 v6 reving 6100 rpms with true dual streight pipes streight out the back whenever you reved it up to 6100 rev limiter .
Thanks for watching and subscribe! They’re both great, but if you really want attention then the yellow bike with the super loud vance n hines is the way to go
I like both. But if I had to choose. Id go with the Cobra. It has a better tone and is a little more refined sounding. The V&H have a great chop to the idle.
I think the cobra speedster longs sound the best on the VTX 1300! Are you running with baffles in or out? You need some back pressure because without back pressure your going to lose some power running straight pipes! Great looking bikes! I have a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 with Cobra drag pipes! I put thunder torque inserts in my pipes, they are adjustable so you can adjust to get the sound you want!Ride safe!😎🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️
Thanks for watching and subscribe! I think my cobras may have baffles in them, but the vance and hines on my yellow one are as close to straight pipes as you can get… super aggressive. I kinda prefer the cobras, but when you want attention the yellow one is the best
I am sorry but I have a 2007 vtx 1300r with Cobra pipes and a 2006 vtx 1300c with stock pipes. The Vance and Hines pipes sounds like stock pipes with the baffles removed. Just noise like a cherry bomb on a 6 cylinder.
I'm trying to get me a hold of a Vance & Hines system to a '05 VTX1800, but they don't seem to sell them anymore. Anyone knows where I can buy that system?
I got the vtx 1800 in 02, frantic for pipes, I put the cobras on, went to bikeweek an heard vance pipes an immediately switched. Cobras don't measure to the vances.
Thanks for watching and subscribe! The Vance and Hines exhaust sounds very mean and the bike is overall a great package has an LED headlight rare yellow color and sounds amazing
@@Drive315 They are. It took me a while but I figured out I have the S model ("Spoked"). All the other models have this Handlebar. Only the S has the Handlebar i have. Thanks for the reply and I quickly did subscribe.
I like the cobra pipes. There arnt to loud but not to quite either. Nice middle ground for sure. I actually have Vance and Hines on my 1300R and it sounds good as well but the sound of those cobras are sweet.
