This video shows the basics of how I installed a speedometer calibrator "SpeedoHealer V4" on my Honda VTX1300 motorcycle. After calculating the speedometer error using by GPS as a reference, I programmed the SpeedoHealer using the supplier instructions. The results corrected the speedometer error perfectly. The installation and programming were very easy with great results.

This was great, thanks. I've been wanting to fix my VTX speedometer but didn't as I thought it might be too difficult. Clearly, I was wrong.

Great vid. On my 3rd VTX now and they are great indeed. The VTX has few flaws, it is odd that Honda allowed this flaw.

Excellent video! I live in Mexico and just bought a 2004 VTX 1300R with barely 30K miles on it, very good condition. I also notice with a gps app on my cell that my spedometer shows about 9 miles more than the gps. I hope I can get a "healer" sown here too. Saludos

Awesome job with the video! The company should absolutely have comped you this module. On my third VTX now and first that has an accurate speedometer, otherwise I'd absolutely be purchasing one of these. My only question for you, is how do you keep your bike so clean?! :) When I pull that side casing to service the shifter linkage, I find all kinds of yuck. Yours is immaculate!

The other day I rode past one of those police radar checks that tells you how fast you're moving. Since I'm aware of speedo calibration problems I did a quick comparison and was pretty much dead on...at 25mph. Which surprised me. Of course that was 1 test at low speed. No idea if I'm accurate throughout the range. This is a nice little gizmo but probly more trouble than it's worth for me. If the speedo shows 75 or 80 at highway speeds, I know I'm at least w/in the cop probly won' t pull me over range. 😉

Excellent Vid Sir.. how did you arrive at the " -9.1" as the amount needed to adjust for an accurate reading? is there a conversion chart included with the unit?

I checked the actual speed with a GPS and compared it with the motorcycle speedometer reading, then did the conversion. There is an online converter on the HealTech SpeedoHealer web site.

Why was is so far off? Was it that bad from the factory, or did you change gearing?

+gliderp It was that way from the factory. I have head that it is a common problem.

I've owned several Hondas since I started riding and ALL of them ore off. Usually they read about 4 miles faster than you're actually moving, so I always allowed for that. I never seen the need for a "healer", I just figured it right into my speed so I am always aware of it.
