Did you do a video of how to do the battery mod relocate? BTW, I really like your how your bike is set-up. I have a XR650L 2014 that's in need of a battery mod like yours but I don't know where and how to start.
it would be great if you can weigh the bike. I like to see how many lbs you have cut off from OEM weight. Also I like to hear the sound of the bike with the new muffler.
jack schitt , I have a friend with that same exhaust on a XR650L. Without the quiet core thing in it, the bike is very very LOUD!!! Sounds great though , very deep tone!
That's a sweet looking bike. I'm looking for a dual sport and of course considering an XR 650. How much weight did you loose by taking all the not needed stock parts off?
I got the rear fender from maier, it is a direct bolt on no cutting involved, it is a little bit more red in color then the other plastics but you really can't tell!! The led tail light I got from ebay, just search Xr650l tail light and you should see all kinds of under mount lights! I just picked the one that looked the best and it worked out well for me!! They want 350 to rejet my bike. I can't do it. Or don't want it. I have everything u have but haven't put jets in yet. U need foot pegs. I also put 42tooth sprocket for freeway. Have auxiliary lights not on either. Soon tho just need 4.7G tank.

Got a drc edge 2 tail light, the rear fender, a ims desmoger, some rad signals.....just kept filament bulbs, found some small slick ones...should all be showing up soon. Thanx for the help on the seat probably saved me hours of trouble shooting, trial and error, wires were a bitch though..lol. But got em, cdi and all.
Hey Dan, I had a problem with the oil shooting back into carb. I but a 1' long tube from the crank case breather, ran it under the gas tank and put a breather vent on it, and completly plugged all hoses except the drain. It rips way better now and totally eliminated any oil spraying.

banal pedant I bought my 650l from this dude who had already lowered the suspension and put on some moose racing handle bars, the lowering kit plus the bigger bars makes the ol' pig fit me wonderfully.
we all have no choice right now until Honda comes bak with xr 650 r or bettr yet an all new 650 r but would be happy with the last model they made 2003 for example - best yet whats Yamaha doin fuk me
I got mini stalk brand turning signals, they are tiny as hell, looking pretty sick, bright as hell too. They are halogens... equally as good as led. Been looking for white fairings to change it up a bit but no luck im gona just use krylon fusion gloss white and respray the number plates to match while im at it then Im getting red and white honda seat cover and matching front RED lol Maier fender... Should make the bike look more uniform
Love the bike bro. Im also converting mine.. Did you change the relays for the LED's? Just wandering if I run a LED brake light only if ill have to change anything out to run led brake only, wanted to keep the stock turning signal bulbs... Got some cool smaller bullet style ones with reg bulbs.. Thanks man, ill post a vid soon.
Hey Nick, if you are running regular bulbs in your turn signals the will work fine with the stock flasher, as for the led brake light it has nothing to do with the flasher so it too will work fine! I bought a aftermarket flasher from ebay to run my led blinkers just plugs in where the old flasher was and works great!!
If your using the stock battery you will need to cut out the top of the air box and grind a little metal off around the top bolt on the air box just so it slides by!! Also will need to cut out some of the underside of the seat!! I used a fein tool to cut mine worked really good! If you use a smaller aftermarket battery you might not need to cut so much out!! Good luck#
