I’m a bit sad that I can no longer consider beautiful machines like this. I’m in my 60 now, riddled with bad chronicpain and unable to afford kit like this. I loved my BMW 1100rt but it had to go. I would love to have one. And in my dreams I can have one, so anyone who can afford and is fit enough get it while you can.
Some tip. For me. I didn't even install the bracket for the top shelter because i don't use the pillion backrest and luggage rack. The shelter will still snap in place without the bracket. All the snaps and 2 clips will hold it in place. Saves me some time if i want to put back the trunk... And as for the cable for releasing the trunk, i prefer to remove it from the end at the trunk rather than from the saddlebag end...much easier that way..
ALWAYS buy the Tour, and then remove the trunk. The Standard Wing is severely stripped of features, and it costs WAY more to add the trunk than to remove it.
I think your great 👍 Maxx, you supply a great service to new and old goldwing owner's. I really don't know what people would do if they didn't have anyone that really care about people's safety like Honda's design team should of... Keep in mind I have a 2019 Honda Accord and I have a deposit on a new 2020 Accord. I would like this one your sitting on but in chrome yellow, I wish they brought back this color. So I do like Honda's.
Glad to help. These are safe motorcycles though. If they weren't we'd all know about it. But that doesn't mean they can't be safer... that's what I try and add.
You guys should be making a good looking rear carrier for the Standard Wing (2018-) and F6B (-2017). The original rear carriers are useless and the "wirwar" of pipe aftermarket rear carrier too ugly. Also for both versions the add on trunk kit for the Bagger owners who want the trunk for the once a year big tour, with a 10 or 15 minute effort for both the F6B (-2017) and the Standard Wing (2018-). Love the Bagger look, don't need all the bells and whistles but once a year more storage for the wifes beauty kit and them high heels would be great. Just throwing the idea out there of something like the modified Harley Davidson style tour rack for the F6B and Goldwing Standard to accept the HD Trunk to Rack attachment. Anyway I added you and thumbs up 👍.
Marc I would be interested in a compatible F6B 2016 type kit kit conversion for a truck. Have heard that alot of F6B riders that have now seen a conversion would be interested. Hope Max my look at designing one for us.
Plastic nipples and rubber grommets worst thing ever designed my 2013 has broken ones in some spots. I don't care how careful you or they get brittle over time. Especially if your bike is not a trailer Queen or a shop ornament lol. Been a Harley Guy for years my 1st Gold wing experience. Performance And handling are a 1 hands down. But I'm highly disappointed in the craftsmanship. Too much plastic Crap.
@@Johnrider1234 some is that, for sure. Some is acid reflux, which I have tried several medications for, I'm on the best one I've found so far, pantoprazole. I have several allergies (grass and things you can't avoid) which I am drop therapy for. But mainly I have a small ball of "foam" in my throat all day, that is the problem. They have some medicine to dull the senses in your throat to stop it, but they are highly discouraged as only a dead last resort.
The lack of a quick and easy trunk removal has kept me from having a Gold Wing forever. I’d have to just leave it on. Nothing is worth that kind of time and effort that could be designed for quick attach and release like Harley bagger models.
So you want me to hire a professional actor to demonstrate a product that only few hundred people will buy... Will you cover the $50,000 production costs for me?

This is a great idea, one that I might have to consider. But my main concern is the available room for my passenger. My wife, along with many others out there are not skinny Japanese sized women. Even on my Harley Road Glide Ultra and previously Ultra Classic, I had to purchase a tour pack relocation kit to give us breathing room back there. The passenger seat has less room than the Harley Davidson touring bikes with the stock tour pack location. Do you think it’s feasible to push the top case rearward on the new GW Tours by 2-3 inches? I installed an adjustable slider kit from Kuryakyan on both the Harleys I’ve owned, and they’ve worked great. Just curious if something similar could be done on the 2018+ Goldwings?
No, sorry! But Honda never had a kit with the painted parts to make the Wing look like an F6B. But you should be able to buy everything from Honda. It would not be "quick" like this setup however.

The saddlebags are electric controlled. You don't slam them shut you push them to the closed position and give it a tiny extra push in the electric lock will grab onto it. It kills me to watch people slamming those shut.
There is nothing electric about the closing mechanism. Period. So start there. The electronic portion only opens the relase. You need to find something more important in life to concern yourself with.
