I had issues with the bra fits as well. Despite using their size charts, the fit would either dig in or be too loose where one would expect it to be more fitted.

I have such a love/hate with GC. I have finally decided hate has won. I received a free pair of leggings when they first launched back in the day through FB (lol right) and was excited to try them. I found the "compression" was just too much of a plastic feel and it would actually pinch my thigh when I rode my bike. I hate them. I do, however, love the bras. I use the high neck old school style and they are super tight but I LOVE it for (D-DD) running. Thanks for the video, I always like to see what other people think. I am sure the leggings have changed quite a bit since then also.

I bought a few products a few years ago and found similar (and different issues)! I'm usually an XXL and I bought leggings in an XL. I found them extremely compressive and I agree the fabric is thin! Because I bought them in a light yellow color, I did find that darker underwear would show up if I wore them. I also agree with the bra issues. I'd find them to be too large or too tight. I didn't know they were sold in stores now - so that's great that I can try them before buying them this time! Always appreciate your honest review and info.

I love my Girlfriend Collective pieces (I am definitely lacking in the curves department so maybe that’s why 😅). I have the Paloma bra (which I love and find decently compressive) and the pocket leggings in the 7/8 length & full length with no side pockets (I like both despite being on the shorter end for inseam). It was great to hear your thoughts process on fit though! It gave me some things to think about for choosing activewear pieces in future (which is new for me haha). And I looove the colours you chose - they look great on you and with that sweater😍

It took me several orders to get the right fit for me too, but now that I have I LOVE the paloma racerback bra. The way I fit it to me it has a very compressive fit which as a DD I love them as my cardio bra.

Such a great and useful review! I've had their compressive pocket leggings on my wishlist for a while, but never ordered them because I couldn't decide which size to get (I'm an M in the waist and an L in the hips). Based on your measurements I should definitely get an M! Although I'm definitely still not convinced they will fit my hips so I might end up not purchasing them at all...

The fit of their pieces didn’t work for my body shape, and I wasn’t super impressed with the quality either. I had extra room at the waist like Erin, and similar issues with the bras. I am also exactly between a small and a medium on their size chart, and I find that a lot of size inclusive brands end up having bigger gaps between sizes, which I often fall into. It also makes me salty when brands claim to be size inclusive and then don’t offer a longer length in pants. GC’s regular length is shorter on me than this 7/8 length is on Erin. I’m wearing used leggings at the moment, but I’m hoping to try Athleta or Fjallraven next as they both are good quality and offer 31” inseams.

I also have a very long torso and I love how my compressive leggins from GC actually sits at my waist. I chose to size down to a S even though I'm pretty smack down the middle of Medium, and I feel they sit perfectly on me and that they are truly compressive in a comfortable way. I really love my leggins from them and want to get more pieces from them. I used to have the problem with a very small waist and larger boobs but after brestfeeding that wasn't a problem anymore so I'm gonna try to get tops from GC too after I'm done BF my second baby :)

I had a pair and despite them having really good intentions, I wasn’t won over. I’m a fairly thin woman and wear a small in all my leggings and so when I found a pair my size I snatched them up and wore them a few times… and they were so unflattering. Showed every dimple and roll. I chose black for goodness sake, the most flattering color, and hated them.

I’m normally size small in every clothing, but I go size XS for Girlfriend Collective and both bra and leggings fit me perfectly.

Thanks for this! I wasn’t sure how GC would fit so I haven’t ordered, despite looking. And I’m in the same boat with large cup to band measure. I find a lot of brands very low under the arm and at the chest which really doesn’t work for me. I also have trouble with larger hip/thigh to waist ratio which typically means gapping at the waist. 😕

Great review! I sadly believed the hype and bought some leggings and a skort, neither fit well (even though I was dead one for measurements for a size M) and the fabric just didn’t feel nice when wearing. Love that they are size inclusive and a better brand overall, but I did sell the items on Ebay. Hopefully someone else enjoyed them!

Never tried their bras but I got a pair of their leggings (no pockets) second hand and they're my favorite. That said, I do fit pretty much a Medium to a T and I recognize thats not true for everyone or the difficulty of being between sizes and not getting getting the promised compression.

I tried a couple different bras & pants from them a few months ago and returned it all. The bras felt simultaneously like I was wearing an ace bandage and my boobs were also popping out. The issue with the pants was the texture- I prefer to wear bikini style underwear under my workout wear and I found that both of the different pants had a fabric & texture that made me feel naked because you could see every single contour, especially my underwear. I also just found the pants too compressive. I love and have been wearing 2 pairs of lululemon align pants for 6 or 7 years now still going strong!

As I've tried various products from them, I've found some hit and some miss. I typically wear Large in top and bottom, and found that generally holds for me. The Float Cleo Bras are my faaaaavorite for everyday and moderate workouts. I like the Float leggings as well; I also find the compressive leggings are uncomfortable. I have some Paloma bras I like, and sized up in the Dylan style so I could wear them more as a top for layering w/o the ultracompressive fit that *I* feel from the Paloma. I also love the ReSet joggers, but size up in those as well for comfort. I've had a few pieces let me down, though, so I'm thinking I'll focus on my favorites and be more hesitant to try new styles. I think the value is awesome if you take advantage of sales

I agree that the compressive high rise legging fabric is too thin. I don't even like wearing the leggings because they show everything. I also have the Paloma racerback bra and I only wear it as a last resort because I feel like it doesn't hold me in securely, I constantly have to readjust. Perhaps a long line bra just isn't for me. On the positive side, I have the high rise brief underwear and after cutting an inch off the top, I love them. They don't show through leggings and they don't shift around during workouts.

I had issues with the bras and leggings. I found the FLOAT leggings rode down a lot when wearing them casually on errands. The bras just gave me mega uniboob lol.

I've sold basically every GC thing that I own. I don't like any of the fits but also the leggings are so bad at ventilation. I heat up and sweat so much in them because the material is just not good for working out.

I have a pair of the compression leggings I got from them for free when they first started the brand. Getting them on was a big challenge (I even emailed them to ask if they'd sent me the correct size). They were supposed to fit that way (extremely tight to get on) and did get better after I managed to get them on. It's the only piece I have from them. They've held up well but the price point (at least back then) was a reason I haven't bought more, choosing to go with options that still have sustainable values but at a better price point.

Interesting! I wonder if it's still have same fabric or if they've changed it at all since launching. If you're interested in trying other pieces they do have pretty good sales throughout the year. Black Friday some styles were even up to 70% off.

I think that everyone with bigger cups will have issues with this kind of bras. The only wireless sport bra that I love is from knix. I have the high compression leggings and Ilike the fit and it definitely compressive on me. I bought my size based on the chart. The material is weirdly thin I agree with you.

I only own one item from this brand, a pair of leggings, the 28.5" Luxe leggings, and though I love the way they hug my body, as soon as I slid the calves over my body, the inside seams started pulling at the calf. I'm generally a size Small, 5'5“/135lb, Hourglass body frame with wide hips and a long torso. If I would have gone with a medium, they would have been much too large for me. The length on me is definitely long, the 7/8 length might actually have been a better length for me. There's quite a bit of extra fabric at the ankle for me. I know a few ladies that prefer to wear these without underwear, specifically for the gym, and there are zero issues with sheerness, which was the whole reason I gave these a shot to begin with (I DO actually prefer to wear undies with mine lol) Given my body shape, I don't know how I'd feel about the bras. I already struggle with getting the girls to fit into athletic tops correctly and given the comments here and your thorough review, these would not work for me. I'm glad I didn't try them when I originally gave the brand a shot. Thank you for all of the work you do, Verena! 💕

I used to have the Paloma and yeah as a busty lady the fit was a nightmare. Both loose in the band and bottom of the top and major spillage on the sides as you noted.

I dunno-I also have a larger cup to band size ratio and if a bra doesn’t fit both correctly I DO think it’s a problem with the brand, not my body. If they sized in bra sizes, I’d be able to get a better-fitting bra than if they only size in regular clothing sizes, like Girlfriend Collective does.

Oh it's NEVER a problem with anyone's body! (I actually have a video about this ;) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cKVTttCzEII.html ) Girlfriend has a more straight/less curvy fit. Many people need that and hopefully it's a good fit for the majority of their customers, it's just not the right fit and brand for me.
