Fun fact: the producers of this song were asked to make it as peculiar and eccentric (as well as noisy) as possible, even some inclusions in the instrumental were absolutely insane (I mean have you ever heard a song where the instrumental contains a high pitched horse voice?) . the song was basically dedicated to the people who called nct (particularly 127)'s music "noise" and labelled that as a bad thing. This is in order to show that NCT will only continue to embrace the noise quality of their music and, despite what those people continue to say, make it a unique quality about them that the enjoyers of music will find it rather interesting and attractive (nct we are so sexy lol). Simon says is one of my all time favorite nct and kpop songs ever. There's something about the way the 127 members performed it with such overflowing confidence and cockiness, they were rude and unapologetic in a way and it was exactly what this instrumental needed!!! I can talk about this song for days tbh and I really hope 127's Comeback can be as arrogant as this one!!

So, Simon Says is a children's game. The main person will say something like "Simon says touch your nose" or "Simon says tap your foot" and you follow the instructions. But if the person just says "touch your nose" you aren't supposed to do it, and if you do you're "out". I hope this clears it up! Simon Says was the first NCT song I ever heard so I have a special place in my heart for it. Even the "bless me achoo" line. 😄

So this song is basically a song dissing haters and such who call NCT music nothing but "noise". Basically they are saying shut up we'll keep making "noise" and there isn't anything you can do to stop us because we are kings, which is why this song has so many interesting sounds.

NCT Noise music is a song use so many different sample, instrument, voice, also layers of adlib, harmonization etc. "NCT Noise you can't break me" Meanwhile other say their fav also produce Noise music, but it is only hard edm song.

1:27 These are Maori haka. These are often use in traditional ceremony or in competitions when they want to impress their opposent. In this case, I think that was at a weddings and it was performed by the husband and a couple of other guests. I also heard that it was present in one of EXO's songs too, but I don't know wich one.

That’s right: music is art…and just like painting, sculptures, etc. it is according to subjective appreciation. Put simply: those calling NCT music as noise are nothing but jealous and feeling-threatened haters and SIMON SAYS was released “especially for them”. Thank you for sharing your personal story and for promoting these very underrated young men. Exactly like your best friend’s experience, I clicked immediately with the music as soon as hearing an NCT song one providential day, and I’m really glad to hear he is possibly on his way to becoming an NCTzen (especially since the new sub-unit, the new members, 127’s new album, WayV’s new album, and NCT 2021 are all coming very soon…). As another commenter mentioned, I hope you will check out the powerhouse vocalists in their COMING HOME special release last Christmas (yup, your birthday twin is there too) and if you have already watched, I also hope one day you will add NCT contents (NCT LIFE, NCT WORLD, etc) in your video intro.

That very beginning part is a Maori Haka and I think whoever sampled it swiped it from a popular RU-vid video of a wedding party where the couples friends and family perform the haka for them

In this, you choose one person as supposedly 'simon' and the others are the players who they are supposed to follow whatever simon tells them to do. However, the players are only supposed to follow what starts from simon says, and if it does not then they lose.
