I agree with you. I have my DM 2967 Chelsea black for over 11 years and I had no problem wearing them. DMs really won't let you down.

I picked up a pair of Crazy Horse Chelsea recently and, boy, do I love them. I know the fitment can be hit or miss, I bought them half a size smaller than my usual sneakers size. Fortunately, mine fits me like a glove, no pain and I like the snugness of the elastic part. Cheers!

The bridge of my foot is usually the pain point for me on Dr Martens. Boot oil and a stretcher for a couple of days always solves it. I'll set them out in the sun for a couple of hours to get the leather warm. use a brush to get a good coat of oil on there, insert a thick/tall foot and shoe tree, and set in a warm place overnight. Wear for a couple of hours and repeat over the course of a week, adding an additional insole(s) if it feels like you still need a bit more of a stretch.

I have a pair in black with the signature stitching, and I love them.Yes at first they are a bit hard to get on, but a shoehorn works wonders. Once they are on, they look and feel amazing. Paired with Levis or slacks, they make a great impression.

I have the waxed black version. Mine came with the yellow stitching around the soles and a different sole design below the soles-Martens have two versions, the one you saw in the video and their commando soles, which aren't that slippery on wet ground like the classic one. The size is the same like in the 1460, and I didn't have much problems getting in them, though it needs some pressure in the first days. The crazy horse leather looks great, the waxed version is a little different, they look much alike when brand new, the waxed version is a little greasy and dull maybe, but probably the same leather. I found that when you use leather balm (you can buy any colorless leather balm for shoes, saddles etc.) on the waxed (i have derby waxed Martens too), they don't darken so much and they keep the used look in wrinkles, which appear a bit lighter colored than those areas which weren't bent or got scratches. The waxed leather is mid-soft i would say, not so painful to break in and just as the crazy horse leather more durable. The also available "smooth leather" has a plastic coating on them, which makes them shiny, but once you got breaks in them you can't really use leather balm on them, as the coating prevents it to soak in. Oh, and the waxed version never gets as shiny as the other leathers. I was wondering before buying if they keep tight enough without laces. They are a little roomy, just as the 1460s. But they stay on the foot and feel comfortable and tight (not overly tight). They are a good choice for those who don't like the hassle with the lacing of the 1460, as this takes time each time you put them on or off.

I do not do much with my crazy horse leather dr martens. I mainly do not wear it during the rain and I do not apply anything on it. I just brush off dirt on it. To protect them from rain then apply the wander balm on it but they will get darker

When its about sizing. After owming 2 pairs for several years may resume is as follows: If you try them on and they fit well with a little bit of play, they are too big. Buy them one size smaller. Since they are made of leather from the outside as well as on the inside, they will get wider and fit to your foot perfectly. This is what makes them so comfy.

I got one and yes it will be better not to polish it..let the colour get lighter. Its comfortable, better than 1460.

we have no doc martens physical store in our area , the only way to get this pair of shoes is through on line, but my problem is the sizing, im size7.5- 8 or UK 40.5 - 41 in my adidas ultra boost and vans, is it the same sizing as the DM's?

Measure your feet and compare it to the online dr market size chart.. that should give you a good idea of what size to get

I have Wonder Balsam and was wondering is it can be used to condition these Crazy Horse boots? I've been reading mixed results from using Wonder Balsam on Crazy Horse like leaving white residue and heavier creasing marks (fully aware it could make them shinier and darker)

They are both doing great.. no issues with them.. you can’t go wrong with either of them but it depends what you want.. if you need them for manual labor jobs then Solovair is the one to get because of its shank.. also the shank keeps the boots sole shape.. dr martens fit like sneakers and they are very comfortable to walk in.. are you thinking about getting the 1460?

I tried to try on a pair of these in my size (UK8) and couldnt even get my foot in. I love them too but would 9's be too big. I feel left out because my missus has 13 pairs and i just have 1 pair of DM brogues. You have great enthusiasm by the way

Yes, their pricing is mad compared with 80/90s, they tripled their prices. But if you wait you always get discounts and can get them for around 100€/$. Though they had some quality problems, they seem to have solved those and the Martens i bought after 2020 have a really good quality again in most leathers, the "smooth leather" is by far the worst because of their plastic coating, which the other leathers luckily don't have.
