Last time I created a new character on a new account I immediately got a quest to kill Garmoth, at level 1.

Lifeskilling is kind of pvp too, and pve, considering you fight people on the market and like with hunting, farming, hitting trees, sucking the blood, I mean it is all relative.

Feel like one thing the game could really use is some low to mid tier variable party grind spots. Basically places where you can go in as a duo and grind just fine(with no platforming/puzzles). More members could be added at any time to allow you to upgrade to a better grind. Rewards could be things that only allow you to upgrade easier, but make them unmarketable and restricted so they can't just be used for high late game profit. Thinking versions of Memory Fragments that can only be used on base boss gear up to TRI or for making the reform stones, Caphras Stones that have a limit(ex: stones equal to Caphras 6), etc.

Came here from Asmon mate, to provide some support (also subbed ;). Recent BDO returnee, so good timing. Still a complete newb, loved the 2 new campaigns, just did Chengu & Magnus recently. Still only have a 58 & 2x56s (+ 3 chars < 20) after years lol. New season structure is great, item creep is cancer, solo PvE carebear play is fun, love learning the best combos for each class (so far my faves are Lahn, Drakania & Maegu, must try Woosa and get back to my Witch, Tamer and Nova at some point. My Pegasus now makes getting around soooooo much easier! :D Chin up mate, all the best with your new career - I wish I could get out of the IT rat race, but I think it's too late for me now at almost 60 lol! ;)

Why would you suggest making LOML boss fights harder? I mean it gets pretty hard when you go up past Calamity 5 anyway? I mean that's already pretty difficult with a gear score of 650+

The bosses in the LOTML are a lot harder (especially for new players). Especially if a noob doesn’t know how to upgrade their equipment yet. The LOTML is absolutely hard enough for noobs. Just played through with one.

Love your content Blue. Usually agree with most of your takes but not about BDO ingame content. You have very nieche taste, you enjoy bartering, large scale pvp, dungeons/puzzles - these are the least popular things in the whole game (You also like DND which is very very nieche). It would be quite horrible use of resources to develop more content like that. Also about the community aspect, forcing people to join a guild would not go well, If you take away the guild passives, passive silver and occasional login rewards, most random casual guilds would be empty because majority of the players dont care about this. Past 10 years most popular content in MMOs is solo content, solo queue, party finder queue, ironman etc. Even in BDO party spots are the least popular. All love, no hate. If this came across aggressive or rude It might be because Im not a native english speaker.

as a casual bdo player(played for 2 hours this week) its true i dont/cant read. If stuff is too complicated, i just dont do it. Im only here for the bossfights, either loml (i wish they would fix gameplad input on pc, sometimes i cant see what i am clicking on the shrine screen at its really hard to navigate)or i do weekly bosses only, with 1 or 2 garmoth attemps with the typcial dissapointing loot.

21:57 I love bdo for its individuality but it needs to take a page from wows take on content and just start ripping ideas from other games in terms of pve. A dungeon finder or group finder would be nice. TERA is also an action mmorpg and they did a phenomenal job on dungeons and mechanics and even had a raid. Rn I think they are slowly working up to that

Can you please stop saying that new players should be FORCED to join guild? Personaly me and all my friends started this game for solo experience, searching for guild was a natural development for us. I do think PA should SUGGEST guilds but not FORCING it. Thank you Blue. UDP Tera online was having alliance* auto join guild with reduced benefits. They can just add those with full buffs and tie membership to new player status ( aka New Olvia ) to ease social entery.

I hope they wont remove crystal loss, just increase the silver

not gonna lie, i personally believe one of the main pillars of bdo is grind, but the main difference is you can grind however you prefer not just the most optimal roller coaster. they should put stuff in for people like you who want puzzles, shotcalling, meaningful group content... etc but i prefer the combat be given proper attention and facilities. there should be a healthy balance of stuff for everybody to do but pvp shouldnt be the red headed stepchild when they have the means to make some real greatness... honestly they should adopt many things because why not xD, idk why shadow arena is gone, no hardpoint/capture the flag, random match of the day, some single life search and destroy type game mode, legit ocean battles, obstacle course, shooting range, animal mounts besides ele/horse/camel/tamer dog, castle seige and nodewars at different times, animal taming(pets), bounties/bounty hunters/vigilantes/hero's/saints/villain's (another use of karma/ just divide into various categories), businesses/ merchant guild ranking... so much shit its ridiculous if opt in fun pvp modes was worth silver like everything else would be super good for the game. community building is always necessary in any mmo and they need activities to do.

4:42 I have to disagree here. Making the bosses harder won't help because what most people like is killing more of things, not harder but the same amount of things. Making the bosses harder but not adding grind zones for the "kill 50 goblins" quests will only make players more frustrated since they will not only have to still run around for 8 hours spamming 'r' but will also have a shitty time when they finally do get to try some combat. imo alternative start zones should have simply never been a thing. The eternal winter mountain is at least fast so you can build your Timmies fast but it's still shit for new player. Ancient stone chamber is undisputed best. Also I keep hearing you say that LotML has the best story. I don't get this at all. The exposition of the story is the same level of trash (actually worse since you have a bunch of 3 second cut-scenes which are just static images with camera panning that you have to go through 2 loadscreens for) but it also feel completely disconnected from the rest of the World. Almost like you ported your char to some spin-off game. Maybe if you're Korean and find it interesting to see references to your nation's mythology it might be somewhat enjoyable. The only character that you might have cared about if you liked Magnus story (f those quest tho) ditches you in the first 30 min and every single other char except maybe the fox-girl are all just a waste memory. And the thing I personally hated the most is that since technically this story should take place after Magnus storyline you should already be a well established adventurer, not some nobody who "could barely take a single hit" and the way how with every boss fight the boss's honor is kind of saved by plot armor with them being like "I could easily beat you but lets call it a day" There is also zero value to ever returning to the island. You park a Timmy to do blitz but besides that never go there ever again (again - no grind spots). So the "stunning visuals" are basically worthless.

Shitty mind games, catch you with the idea it will be better: When you see the trailers and the game feel awful run aways. This is the case of BDO. When you see the trailer and the feeling is better than you can figure out. That is a good game. Remember popularity is not same word as Good.

Quitting the game. Not down with the 500 hour grind at kratuga to get to 680 gs and not down with all the incentives to p2w. The game has always been and always will be a money grab.
