The narrative that Asmon is not playing games is just a stupid meme but a lot of people act like it is a fact just because he is not playing their game.
For me it was that moment at the forge after Vaal when he saw that he could upgrade his Jagras hacker again, "I need 8" and then he immediately rushed off to grind claws. He's hooked. Hopefully he spends a bit more time hunting all the HR monsters again so he can see what all the armor sets offer. HR bone gear ain't gonna cut it for Rajang.
He doesnt care about the game, he cares about the entertaining the audience. Nobody wants to watch him farm his gear for 4 hours killing the same mob over and over again.
@@naxergss2625 Wow was once a day or once a week killing the same mob. Besides he was mostly talking and waiting not actually playing the game but aight. For most games he grinded offline so when the stream started he could continue where he left off with the stream with more powerful char not because he ''cared'' for the game. Ya'll are getting too attached to people that play something you like.
@@milkteaoftheyear I swear he is trolling. There is no way he's inept with many of the mechanics that was explained to him not even seconds ago at the time of him trying it.
Yeah same, i hope they do something about that in wild. Maybe after ten or five hunts for a monster you can choose a drop one time or change all drops for one gem. Everything over ten hunts is just to much for one gem.
2:01:34 the guy at the back of the commander wearing full armor is known as the huntsman. He is part of the first fleet and you can see him in the opening of monster hunter freedom unite. Its put there by capcom because of nostalgia for veteran players that wants to know what happened to the characters that were in the first games
Recurring characters are cool to see like Aiden being the ace cadet in 4u I believe and getting his own movie bro has plot armor I didn't even think about the huntsman
The Child-like wonder in Asmon's eyes when he knows he can get a new weapon, and exactly what he needs to farm it, then immediately going out to get the mats from the monster is an absolute joy to watch. Mans truly hooked on this game! Love to see him enjoy MHW so much!
The first monster hunter game I tried was monster hunter 3 and I quickly gave up as soon as I got overwhelmed by EVERYTHING. Still I kept it on my mind for years that I wanted to learn the game and MHW did it for me. I got so hooked! Easily one of my favorite gaming experiences of all time :D
Damn, him smashing the horns waking him up, getting the mount and landing that last crunchy hit for the kill only to get 2 gems was a pretty epic sequence of events. GG
Its just so freaking unbelievable that he finally bought Iceborne expansion! Look at his effort to learn the mechanics in the game for each of his stream session.
Doing optional quests with that little speech bubble next to it are extremely rewarding, since they upgrade your cantine, botanist, new specialized tools etc.
@@ukimenustah26 he is improving, just let him figure it out step by step for the best experience.. i mean he understand than the most newbie in this game, like you cant capture the elder dragon, and the most important is hes not using "defender stuff shit" at his first game
Whenever Bazelgeuse shows up, unless you're after him, just leave and let him do his thing. Beetlejuice will fight the monster you're after and deal big damage to him. Just back off and let Bagel Goose do the heavy lifting, take the time to heal, sharpen, or do whatever. Once the B52 bomber retreats you can come back and fight the weakened monster.
He is incredible at pattern recognition, and that is the sole reason he can keep going this much without grinding out better gear to face the stuff he's currently up against. He do be gamin.
I doubt he reads comments, but charging the true charge each level, increases the boost for each charge level after that. So full charging charged slash 1, makes the full charge of slash 2 do more, and charge one or both of the first 2 slashes makes truecharge slash do more damage. Rarely usable in combat, but at least for thr wakeup, full charging is the move. Charging before you tackle to the next charged slash also counts towards increasing the charge increment
Thank you for playing this! I have really enjoyed watching and kinda reliving the memories. It has been very fun watching you learn the insanely complex hunting process in game and succeed at your hunts. Glad you are enjoying it!
It's got almost everything he likes in games. Gear based progression, buff dudes fighting big monsters with big weapons. Skill based gameplay, plenty of content, and much more.
Episode 5!!! Let's goooo 🥳🥳🥳 I'm enjoying the heck out of this!!! Love the faces Asmon makes when he hits or misses True Charged Slash 😁. Vaal lasted longer than Nergi 😯. I haven't seen Tailraider Safari in a long time. Keep up the great job, Asmon!!! You're killing this!!! Heck yeah!! 👊
I have like 2k hours in mhw but I didn't play for more than a year . So much fun watching somebody experiencing everything for the first time . Brings back fond memories
When he looks at his kill shot with glee on his face, that's when you know he's a fan of the game. Welcome to the club, Asmon, may your satisfying kill shots be many.
Heartwarming to see someone get hooked on a game I've spent 2700 hrs on. Ive been playing since mh3u and i dont regret a single moment. Really cool watching Asmon discover the same things 😊
Side note: I cant wait to see Lunastra destroy his ass. That Blue Bastard Lion is my least favourite fight in the entire game. I'd rather fight 2 Kirin's at once
Man, you guys got to show Asmon the "Monster Hunter World in a Nutshell" Bazle animation. Its so in damn point. And the music just kills it. He's gonna love it.
I gotta say, it's incredible how patient he was with the hunt for charms 🤣 Tbh, it's the first time I've ever seen that someone didn't unlock the charms before the melder moved from the research base to astera due to story progression, so I was just as lost as everybody else on how to actually unlock them at that point 🤣
People keep saying this s*it so much it’s getting really desperate, like you’re trying to convince someone that there are hard fights in the game but then baldy beat’s it in a try or two not even utilising half the mechanics the game offers, just stop, it doesn’t f*cking matter, the games fun.
it would be like this. Painfully slow and you can pull out your hair as he doesn't use any kind of advanced flashy techniques or skills; because he's not smart enough to learn them
Realistically, even if he gets there he's NEVER beating Fatalis without getting carried in multiplayer. Unless he spends the next 6 months grinding this game daily.
@@FlipsMGskill issue. MASSIVE skill issue It's understandable taking a few hrs, but certainly not weeks, let alone months if you have appropriate gear with an understanding of the fight Asmon has also played all the souls games and beaten the hardest fights there. I think it'll take him a few hrs, but nothing ridiculous
@@WisdomAkpan211took me over 70 attempts and yet I’ve beaten SL1 runs of DS1,2,3 and Elden Ring. Fatalis is a different type of challenge. One that you can’t simply outscale by getting better equipment or overupgrading. There are no tools that you can use to make Fatalis a cakewalk
@@sodapopinksi667 I know people usually back-seat, but I thought it was. Bit over the top this time. They kept yelling at him to do things he was trying to do lol
Props to you Asmon. Elder's Recess is FULL of pain and misfortune. My first Uragaan hunt was difficult and I almost failed it. Keep pushing! Edit: And yes, Lavasioth is a degenerate.
I'm so glad this game has caught the true attention of asmond. Been playing since 2008 and always knew this game would blow up one day, and I'm so glad I'm here to watch it.
Why?? I promised myself I wouldn't play this game again, why do this to me?? Watching this has been a real pleasure and now I can get back to my daughter telling me never to kill, just capture. She is also my Palico stylist. When Wilds comes out I will be all over it. This video series has reminded my how great this game is. My thanks to you Asmon 😁
I love that you’re still playing this amazing game! It’s been so awesome having new and returning players back in the lobbies!!! Keep up the great vids!!!
I’m a huge fan of the Super Recovery skill myself (Vaal hazard set bonus), but it is basically a necessity to combine it with recovery up 3 and recovery speed 3. It gets even better with Iceborne Vaal and Nergigante variants. For starters the black veil Vaal Hazak set and Ruin Nergigantge sets only need 2 pieces to activate their bonuses so you can have passive healing and healing on hit. Most people will cry about having to build all attack stats and how its all about big damage, defense is worthless and so on. I had a ton of fun with my ‘immortal’ build and and made the game fun and often pretty easy for me with the exception of one of the final elder dragons in Iceborne that has a one shot move against the entire party if enough elemental damage isn’t dealt. Needless to say I quite dislike them, but they were the only monster that my build did not work on.
@@mysteryrandomasianI was just gonna say this. With his play style hammer would be way better for him just bonking away at the monster, but hey if he does decide to try another weapon after playing GS he’ll find out to be way easier lol
love that your keeping with it, (also for sleep hitting with great sword, walk up until you are touching the monsters hit box then block, while blocking roll backwards away from the monster, then start your combo it will place you perfectly 99% of the time)
Rolling through monster roars and attacks really is a skill. You can put on an evade window to help, but don't become reliant on it. It hurts end-game builds.
its so satisfying seeing someone fall in love with this game. it began for me on freedom unite, i was the only kid i knew who played it back then, now its a certified mainstream game.
It's too bad they had to completely tone down the difficulty and make a bunch of balance changes for the mainstream audience to finally find this series.
@@italianspiderman5012 Yeah I just decide to enjoy the older games and not play the newer ones. We will have to agree to disagree that most changes were for the better. Different types of games for different types of people. I'm just bitching that they changed the series I loved. Though I'm happy that more people are getting into it. It's a double edged sword. Before I never had anyone to talk to mh about because no one knew about it. Now I can talk to people about it, but I hardly relate to anyone because I dislike the newer titles.
@@deaj8450 well, that sucks, but you can tell the same thing about any other long going series, games change to appeal to more people, sometimes it works wonderfully like in MH where the core gameplay remains and the game keeps it’s identity, others like Final Fantasy doesn’t know what it is anymore and abandoned it’s roots because apparently it’s easier to make an action game and call it an rpg than to make an rpg, because turn based games don’t sell, bg3 cough cough, I understand what you’re saying, but you really should be grateful because MH games are still great, quality games.
@@italianspiderman5012 I can't be grateful that they make games I no longer like playing unfortunately. I'm just happy with what they made in the past. I do recognize they are quality titles, but they are no longer to my tastes. The pacing of the newer games is so different from the old ones, and I appreciate the more limited movesets of old. I think they have changed genres as well, just in a more subtle way than FF has. MH was a slow paced almost immersive sim style of game with similarly slow paced action. Now it's much more fast paced action game with almost all the focus on big bombastic fights with lots of crazy visuals and super insane op hunter movesets, plus they give you all kinds of extra tools that never existed prior. Like I said I am happy that more people like monster hunter as a series, but I have to stick to the old games personally. Which is fine, I will gladly sink another few hundred hours into Dos, FU, or 3U
Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what is the motive for killing these creatures? From an outsider's perspective, it just looks like you're supposed to kill these seemingly inoffensive and unique creatures just for loot to level up - and that doesn't exactly seem innocuous to me. I'm very interested in trying the game out because the game mechanics appeal to me quite a bit, but I can't really wrap my head around this fundamental point lol.
Different reasonings in different entries. Sometimes just population control, sometimes a certain monster is ravaging through an area too close to the village etc etc. You usually get flavor texts for each mission.
@@ChristmasLorewhat are you on about? Every single quest given in the game has a pretty sensible reason for hunting the given monster. In fact, the monsters that you are allowed to hunt are designed around posing issues that would require hunting. Rathian get in the way of trade routes, Kulu would wreck havoc on any camps set up in the area, Anjanath poses a threat in the area for everyone to set up the zone for repelling Zorah magdaros. Even in the older games, a monster like Yian kut ku notoriously get too close to human settlements and pose a threat to livestock when they overpopulate, which they do so in good climes due to the overabundance of their food. You 100% do not kill random monsters for no reason, goes to show that the entire world building went straight over your head.
I am so happy that Asmon gave this game a chance. Now i think he is going to be hyped for Monster Hunter Wilds release alongside Dragon's Dogma 2. By the way, 79 days until the release of DD2. Let's gooo!
Can't believe after 25 hours he is still using the stairs in Astera. Also for the love of god go to the training area and learn to tackle and ledge hop, it's a complete game changer.
Don't know if he'll see this but to position for TCS when a monster is asleep just go up to the head>block>dodge away>block to turn around>go through 1st & 2nd charge without tackle/canceling then a full tcs
I had a very strong feeling this game would keep him interested. You can tell by the way his face lights up the more he figures things out. Monster Hunter is straight up good. It always has been. World is probably the best introduction he could have asked for into this legendary franchise.
Yay i was waiting for this. Tbh i have never watched asmongold vids or live streams. this is the first ever series i started watching bcuz as MH Veteran i love watching newcomers discovering MHW.
I feel like loot has been boosted on base game for returning and/or new players. I slayed a low-rank rathian yesterday and got 2 plates. Low rank Odogaron gave me 2 plates as well. High Rank Rathian gave me Rathian Ruby. This was all like 1h of gameplay 😮
Seeing asmongold start playing world literally the day me and a friend started playing rise again couldn't be more perfect timing. I love how he seems to be really getting into it too. World is such a phenomenal game, and i honestly think iceborne is the best video game dlc ever created.
I wanted to wait with Monster Hunter until the new one came out but as soon as it was announced that it would take till 2025 I bought World. Just mere days later Asmon also jumped into it. Its nice to play such an old game yet it still feels like its fresh because of the Asmonhype. Now I need to go farm some kabibis.
