Thank you for this wonderful, all-inclusive review! I am considering this for a camp I’m setting up for volunteers and honestly need one cooking apparatus to satisfy the cooking needs for folks from literally all over the world! This should suffice!! May you be blessed in all you do. ❤
GREAT review as always... Looks like the perfect 3 in 1 tool for the RV. With my add on propane hose attached to my motorhome, it is perfect for breakfast, lunch and supper without heating up the interior of the coach
Another great review Tom! That pizza came out better than I thought! The pizza stone got smoking hot too. That’s a great combination for camping. Appreciate you sharing this with us. Cheers!
I just bought one unused still in the box for $80. I am so excited to make a pizza in it and fajitas on the griddle. Thank you for the video. I am pretty confident that it was a great purchase.
Almost bought one today @ Walmart, but changed my mind 'cause I could not find any info on the product. But here is your great informative video. Thanks so much. You are really cutting edge, Tom. 😁
Always enjoy your reviews, Thanks. Also Blackstone has a new standalone rotating pizza oven coming out, no release date yet. I'm sure you will buy one and so will I.
Husband bought me one for Christmas. He said he got it a week before Halloween at Walmart for $127 but it rang up for $97. He was so excited. We live in far chicago suburbs so I have to wait for spring… but am excited. ❤
If you are thinking about getting one of these, Wmart has them on sale here in Tx for $110 (Aug 3) not sure if that is everywhere** One of those contraptions that makes you think "why didn't someone think of this decades ago?" I personally don't see the need for the griddle in most cases, so that would be a big weight savings, but it's always there if I need it.
Love your videos very informative and good advice but I would like to know what your opinion is on the Halo versa pizza oven? I'm looking into getting either the ooni koda 16 but the rotating stone on the halo is a real good option..
I like it! To bad I don't have any room for another piece of outdoor cooking equipment. If I could sell the Walmart charcoal pizza oven I'd really think about getting this one. Thanks Tom.
I would change the stone to a larger square one, there seems to be enough room to do that. I was surprised the top cooked so well, it is mostly about getting the crust to brown and this seems to do that with the heat directly under the stone. Pizzas actually cook from the bottom up!!
I got one of these babies too. Does a decent job. Haven't tried the grill or griddle yet as I have those too and so probably in a camping situation is when I'd try it. I was worried about the cooking on the top of the pizza too. Mine didn't cook as well as yours. I think the hood could have better reflection or thermal mass. It's all pretty thin metal but for the value this can't be beat!
@@rhuynh Hi, Amazon has a welder's blanket 18"x24" its fire proof and thermal conductor , the lid on this unit is rather thin and can use thermal retention,..size it up and lay it outside the lid while its warming up and cooking your pizza.. I would have the floor at least 600-650 F before launching your pizza top should brown up nicely.
Nice review, i live in a high wind area, can this be bolted down, if not from factory are the legs wide enough to drill a hole in the bottom to screw it down to my counter top? Thanks
About 5 minutes in while frying the bacon I thought I heard you say “ohhh, problem there”. You never followed up and I’m concerned about flare ups due to location of the grease tray - any issues?
Thanks for watching George! Did get a little flare up but that was me using paper towel to manage the bacon grease and a slopped some over the side and it flared up. The whole bottom is sloped to the grease tray, not the best design, but it does work. Would need to keep it clean though in order to avoid an issue
Hey Tom, how hot does your metal table get when running items like this and other pizza ovens you have tried? Would it melt a folding table if you didn't have anything else to use?
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ. I would like to get that table. Could you provide a link or information on it please? We just got this and have not fired it up yet. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for bringing this to us Tom!. I know you like to protect the insides of your grills with tin foil for easy cleaning. Can you show us your tin foil set up in the next video?
These ovens burn hot may have to turn the temperature down on premade crust and on the griddle (turn this one way down) I haven’t had a gas grill in a while Think I’ll enjoy this one
It looks fine and all Tom, but I like that wood fire taste. Probably going to go with the charcoal one. Did you notice taste difference from the charcoal stove?
Use the griddle to cook pizza. Steel transfers heat faster than stone by about 10X. Don't need the easily breakable stone. Totally upset my 1/2 thick bread steel cost almost as much as this combo grill.
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ Would be cool to try different chips on the coals, like hickory, apple, etc. I think you tried a couple pieces of oak in the second attempt. Did it make a difference? Thanks for the videos.
