I'm really disappointed that this entire line is just "good enough". The 4 dart capacity and the pinch zone grip is really sad honestly. Hopefully Hasbro actually listens and stop trying to cut corners. Great video as always, thank you for honestly reviewing these things!
They kinda nailed it so hard with Rival that they have no where left to go. At this point Rival are the only stock blasters worth using. I'm still a big fan of Megas especially re-barreled
The first, and only (so far) Ultra blaster I own is the U5. I picked it up because the spring is heavier than a k26 but still primes easier than a Kronos. One thing I noticed when priming this blaster is the mechanisms around the slide and breach make a weird little noise when you return the slide forward. I am not fond of the loading though. Having to angle the tip down and carefully avoid ramming the fins into the slide... not as satisfying but still a great powerful blaster.
I'm honestly quite a big fan of the ultra 5. It's quite a sturdy built blaster and as much as the ultra ammunition falls short, looking beyond the stock form it can handle some serious spring load(cough 18kg), has a massive plunger volume and a very long draw. I'm a big fan of the trigger, especially after taking off the knuckle guard. The 4 dart capacity isn't exactly the end of the world... we're talking about massive ultra darts... think about how much stefan dart real estate there is. Even before modifying the blaster it's quite a satisfying rig out of the box that does what it's designed to do rather well
That looks like the first good platform I've seen for a psychopass dominator mod. You'd have to add the whole front barrel, and delete the knuckle duster thing, and do a lot of shell modification to get the designs similar, but its a solid starter.
So far from what has been actually seen from the Ultra line, it's like the NFC East. Just because it sucks the least, doesn't make it good. That said, I'm still curious about the Ultra 2.... but so far, not impressed at all.
Dang I was hoping this was a lever action pistol. I would’ve loved that. And question: why does nerf not have any good hitting darts or cool designs like the lever action blasters from buzz bee (not to say that the ones nerf made are bad, but I perfer those designs from buzz bee more)? I mean I ain’t judging. If you disagree, that’s ok.
It seems like the biggest problem with all of these ultra blasters is the fact that they fire ultra darts if most of these blasters simply fired standard elite darts they would probably be viable that's probably the biggest let down of the whole thing the designs aren't bad it's just the darts they fire and some ergonomic problems
Are there “fake” alternatives to Ultra Darts? If so, drop an amazon link down below so I can buy some because buying “real” ultra darts is WAY to expensive
PikaVids Unfortunately no, there are no alternatives to the ultra darts. Which is primarily the complaint about them. Hasbro specifically designed them with the styrofoam material so it would make it hard for third parties to copy. Therefore, you are forced to buy the ultra darts from them only at their exorbitant price.
the only good thing i can see about this blaster is that its giving me some serious mass effect vibes could look really good as a cosplay prop with a good paint job
Dear drac I have a good idea about ultra darts pls try a cycloneshock mod like a reveolver it loads at the back insyead of the front and call it the dracinator
I dont like the Ultra line. There are w good blasters I do like from the Ultra line, plus a third. The Ultra 2, the Ultra 5, and the Ultra Screamer. I think these blasters make Ultra worth it. As long as it gets 40 to 50 ft it's all good to me! It might be close range but I dont mind it at all. If I can use a .50 cal in COD BO 2 and get people with the DSR .50, then I can get live people out of a game with a large caliber Nerf gun. That's it! The ultra 5 is my favorite Ultra blaster from the series/line! Love your content bro, keep it up!
Cosmetics of the ultra line are not bad, I think the Ultra line would have been fine as a Mega line. But that would not have got Hasbro their proprietary amo...

Overall seems a bit impractical if you're looking for performance. Low capacity, inefficient prime, and sub-par ranges for what they're advertising. I'm still a little dated on my knowledge, but I'm sure I've seen Hasbro do better. Great video, though!
The problem with this is that all these small, handgun style blasters is they have to compete with the Kronos. That's pretty hard. The Ultra 5 get the treatment worse because of wierd ergonomics, lower capacity then the Kronos, and using the worst ammo Nerf ever made.
I don’t hate this ultra blaster it might actually be useful in a nerf war with experience players who know how to dodge elite, rival, and mega darts. At the least it would be surprising to have an ultra blaster.
So I was prying at various tabs on my Ultra 5, and saw that the gold was a seperate piece from the black, while the left side was injection molded with "Ultra." It's like they went out of their way to not bling the left side.
I love your Channel and I love your content but I'm disappointed with that comment about "the last honest Nerf Channel standing" there are other channels that provide honest unbiased reviews and there is no need to give the impression of putting them down you are beter then that.
