@@kimhannemann I thumbs downed OMP. Not because of OMP but because of that phony Harrison talking in everybody's backswing, dishes it out but can't take it, rude treatment toward The Dick, promoting a gambling site, mugging in front of the camera and a general inability to just shut up.
One of our pros has a set of T100s, and even though as a 21 handicap, they are Not meant for me, when I Square one up on the center of the face (very rarely!) the feel was straight up Oh My God! Can’t wait to try the T300s!
As my mate works for the Titleist group, and I get the chance to hit some of these....think you have pretty well nailed it. I currently have AP 3 and 2 combi set, but will be looking at T200 instead of AP3. Not at all sure if I will change, but as an old golfer, playing blades for years, finally giving in to the newer stuff, still love the Titleist and they seem to my eye, to just err on that classical side. Lots of choice out there, but I love Titleist!
A very honest review I believe and the thing about numbers I totally agree. You have high ball speed and great striking ability so how can a average golfer get a feel for how far or well they will hit them. Great video
Very fresh outlook mate nice to have a you tuber doing things differently I enjoyed that way more than I have all the other same old same old videos big up mate
Great honest review Simon. Had the original p790's and went to the new version recently but not loving them like the originals. Wondering what your thoughts were on the T200 as a possible replacement. Cheers!
I just got the t300 in a 7i. Absolutely is more forgiving than most I've ever hit. My miss on face tends to be toe when I miss and the ball still goes like it should. As far as saying you could probably hold the greens with all three, what do you mean? Why would you not be able to? Liking profile of a club better and smaller size is one thing but there is no reason you couldn't hold a green with any of these. I've hit many different brands and types such as blades or cavity back and I've never found holding a green was an issue with any of them. I think people look too much into it. Ego is a reason majority of the guys I know game blades or something close to blades. Same guys that refuse to game a hybrid. Kinda silly. It's your score though, not mine. 😁
Had a few years off golf with kids etc but next year is the year i make my comeback. My Mizuno MP67s though still beautiful are not what i need any more so went to hit a few different ones today. Tried some P790s and MP20 MMCs but the T200's were my favourites which was surprising as i'm a bit of a Mizuno snob. I'll play off about 6 but it's through boring straightness rather than length so these may well be just the ticket. I will try the T100's aswell before i buy anything but the T200's had a huge sweetspot that felt fantastic so i'd recommend giving them a try if you're a decent player but not the longest.
Favourite review of your's to date, however I still won't be swapping my AP2s any time soon as the back of the T100 just looks bulky with that bar! But..... When the MP20 mizuno's come out, we might have a conversation on our hands! 🙈
I really liked your review. Seems honest and not trying to show off with your swing but more of an explanation about the clubs.. I know what I’m buying tomorrow! Lol
What's interesting is, based on the Titliest graphics their Max Impact spot (presumably behind sweet spot) is a lot closer to the toe of the club. In the EAL Miura fitting video, Katsuhiro Miura explained that the true sweet spot is usually closer to the heel side of the club.
Good honest review in truth looking at dry ball data posted by pros really is waste of time for your mid handicap golfer like me. Just think the prices for new irons have gone a bit crazy 🤪
Love the honesty mate. Great review. Agree, numbers don't tell me much for someone playing off scratch. Just bought a set of t200. They felt amazing in the fitting. Never thought I'd buy Titleist, but just felt soooooo good off the face.
Dont know if I'll get a response but at the moment I've got the T100 in a bag but switch between these and the Wilson V6 Tours...they're both great but would you change to the Wilson CB Staff or keep the Titleist ??
I got a 718 Ap2 and Ap3 combo set a couple of.months ago, custom fit for me. £110 per iron and feel I got a good deal compared to these replacements. Also think the 718 series looks better. Lastly, my Ap3 6&5 irons have greatly improved my long iron accuracy. Good video nonetheless.
Great review. I’d definitely be interested to see you numbers. I have a hcp of 8 and currently play AP1 716s that I’ve had since I was an 18 hcp and am considering whether to look at T200s or even T100s
Sam Ogborne you would definitely be better getting a smaller head and more loft if your of 8 as a guess. But 716 Ap2s would be a good start if you don’t want to get brand new bats. 👍
Just a question Simon I’m a senior with a16 handicap with a swing speed of 80 mph and would love to try some Titliest clubs old and new but not sure what I should look for any information is welcome , asking because you always give us RU-vid lookers an honest take cheers mate 👍🏌️♂️
As one of the content creators that I respect the most. Due to your no BS, or at least that I can detect haha, commentary and advise. I would really love to see you review a set of Miura MC-501 and the CB-301. I’ve only seen one other content creator review these clubs. And EAL toured the Miura foundry. I value your knowledge and would like to what you have to say about these clubs. I currently game a mixed set and love them!
Fergus Reeve, Realtor, I just recently bought the set, and as sad as it to say I’ve still yet to play a round..... But I will say that during my 3 day fitting, yes 3 days it was amazing, they hit like butter!!! Absolutely loved the feel of them!
They are just so good and so easy to hit and so frickin super sexy. And I totally love that people ask me what they are and then they don’t know who Miura are and I feel smug etc etc. Total ego trip and I love it 😂
Fergus Reeve, Realtor. I am amazed how many “so called good golfers / pros” don’t know who/what Miura are! I do feel a lil elitist as well!! Hahahaha and then I remember I carry a 12-14 handicap, and I put myself back in place!!! But as one of the blog posts I read, you buy a Ferrari not cuz you need, but because you can!!!
Good stuff Simon! I am always happy to hear someone tell the truth - or at least intimate that AP2 is still in the game for most mortals! Titliest has done some strange stuff over the years but were they ever the “go to” club of choice? For a while you could only buy them in ProShops (for obvious reasons) but keen to explore if they have actually improved clubs compared to the other mobs?
Not sure which set would be a good match for me. I am 67 years old. Handicap 9.2. T2 driver goes about 240-260 ( sometimes 270 yards) 11.5 degrees of loft on the club. My club head speed for my driver is 95-100 MPH
Man I love your honesty and so on it's perfect but can't you tell the difference in roll length using your launch monitor so that we could see if it is the loft angle or the spin rate which made it go so far. I am just curious if someone would be able create a club where it is down lofted but creating so much spin that it's roll number after carry is so short that you would get the control you want with it ;)
I'd be really curious how they work for you when you're swinging left-handed, compared to what you have now. Those are the numbers I'd REALLY like to see. 😁
One thing I can't understand is why pros don't use game improvement irons? Is it because it doesn't respond as well in shaping shots (flies straight most of the time)? One review I saw in youtube shows the data that the T200 and T300 had the same height, same descent angle, same spin - just 8-10yards difference in carry. Is it fair to assume that as a player who doesn't really shape shots - the T300 SGI irons are better for me? I'm a 6hcap and I play fairly decent - but I've always been curious if using SGI will make the game easier. If anyone can point me in the right direction regarding further research - please do so. Thanks!
Game improvement irons don't go consistent yardages every time....pros like forged irons because they need to know that their stock shot to the green goes the same yardage, when aiming at a pin. If they have a 160-yard shot, they want that club to go within a yard of that, not 5-10 yards. Shorter putts mean more birdies.
Currently playing Cobra max irons. I’m a 15 handicap looking to switch to Titleist irons. I’ve been studying t300’s but I’m pretty confused. Maybe just get Ap1’s?
SAS Golf Ping G Hybrids 3 thru 6, followed by Ping G Irons 7 thru Lob (all Reg Graphite) Ping 400 Max 10.5 and a Ping 400 Sft 5 wood, all rounded out with a Ping Fetch Putter which is the only only club I purchased brand new. Saved over a grand just purchasing slightly used equipment but still the best set I’ve ever owned.
I'm about to order T300's. I've had a fitting, the stats defo show the T300's to suit my game but as I'm off a handicap of 7 I'm beginning to get a bit het up that they're a game improvement iron? Should I not be bothered or am I choosing the wrong clubs? My goal is to get my handicap right down, I've spent the winter working hard on my game so I'm hoping to see results. Any advice gratefully received! Thanks in advance.
Suzi C Good for you for getting to a single digit handicap. If you did a fitting and you liked the way the clubs worked for you then you should feel good about it. My opinion anyway.
At last a Reviewer who is being honest, these new T100, 200 & 300 Irons are just rebranded AP2, 3 and 1's. At least the new numbering system makes sense, whereas AP2, AP3 & AP1 never did. Summary, they are ok, but the new Mizuno MP20's will, look better, play better, sound&feel better....and will be cheaper!

Pros don't want the strong lofts of game improvement irons. And It's hugely about front to back dispersion, which is typically worse with G.Is. You can get the hot fliers whereas with blades, you don't.
