As a professional Automotive & Product Designer myself-- thanks for sharing your experience! My experience was very similar to yours in some aspects, and also very different in other aspects. Thanks for underlining the fact that everyone will have different experiences during the pursuit of their design careers; and as long as they keep going and continuing to learn, it will always be worth it as they define their own path to becoming professional designers. I grew up BEING OBSESSED WITH CARS; car magazines, moding my hotwheels w sharpies, car video games, drawing cars, .... . Till now, work on cars with my friends, draw cars, watch car vids. BUT now im doing mechanical engineering instead of industrial designing (what I love), hopefully i can do something w cars going from thar route. At least its graunteed.

Iam 22, a commerce student from india, I didn't knew about what I wanted to do, but I always loved cars, and the way the lines feel, but even after a 12 % growth in automobile designing a year, there are many young talents, who I think are practicing for years, who are not getting jobs, so it's just bit scary, I have just started like 10 months ago preparing for masters, and resigned from my old job. Do you have any tips that can help me?

It's all about practice. I can promise you if you fill up 100 sheets of papers with circles, you'll see a big difference from sheet 1 to 100

Hey, look for trends in the auto world and sketch everyday. Build a portfolio with some concepts where you focus on specific brands and try to show that you can implement a brand DNA into a project.
