~A good review. This particular Hoodie above has front external “up & down vertical pocket zippers” which is a very poor design for a much greater potential risk “to lose” car keys, house keys, wallet, phone, compass, GPS, etc.. ~But rather instead the very best design is to have the front exterior pockets which should always have “side to side horizontal zipper openings” to prevent the loss of valuables. ~Yes I know it has well designed good “horizontal interior inside pockets” but that is still absolutely no excuse.
I've owned a Bearskin hoody for a year now. I love them. I've just bought more today, ready for the Australian winter. I've also bought one for my wife. You should also always get a really good discount, never pay the full price.
Bought the 2.0 one for my wife and 1 for myself , extremely disappointed the wait time was almost 3 months , then I started wearing mine on mild winter days with layers and it was nothing like advertised, it's a cold summer evening sweater at best , I read all the reviews and even talked to someone I knew who bought one and decided to give it a chance , not sure if they had to go to different manufacturers or use an alternative material because of the demand and wait times but I definitely do not recommend, spend your money on something else these are a 40 dollar sweater ,don't get fooled
Great video, thanks! FYI, those pockets on the chest of the Amazon jacket you mentioned, are made to be accessed when you are wearing a backpack with a hip belt.
I'm in UK and both my daughter and her partner cycles to work. After this review, this will be part of their birthday presents in October. Thanks for this, it's great to get good feedback. I'll also be subscribing to your channel 😊
I bought one and its being shipped from China. Ordered it several weeks ago. I wouldn't have have bought one if i knew it was going to take so long. Maybe I'm spoiled with Amazon's shipping and i forgot what real shipping was like.
I'm in the same boat. I've been waiting since September 22....had I known it was coming from overseas I wouldn't have gotten it. I really believe I got scammed
@@moosedagreat The company is based in South Africa. So you have to expect some oddball stuff like weird shipping carrier names and longer ship times. I thought it was an American company
Wait till you don't like it because it isn't as described!! You have to ship it back to some obscure province in China at your expense to MAYBE GET a refund!! The shipping cost with signature or verification is over a hundred dollars!! Another 9 months before they decide to give you a refund!! You just got burnt us what I accepted scam all the way around. Wasn't as described

I realize that the 2.0 has features that help keep the wind out but does the jacket itself block a good portion of the wind? That is the biggest downfall of fleece is it's inability to block wind which robs all your heat.
Your post is from four days ago, so I will reply to you. Yes, fleece is “not good” for stopping wind unless it has a wind-proof liner on the inside. But I wear a fleece “vest” underneath my jacket. ~This particular Hoodie above has front external “up & down vertical pocket zippers” which is a very poor design for a much greater potential risk “to lose” car keys, house keys, wallet, phone, etc.. ~But rather instead the very best design is to have the front exterior pockets which should always have “side to side horizontal zipper openings” to prevent the loss of valuables. ~Yes I know it has well designed good “horizontal interior inside pockets” but that is still absolutely no excuse.
Thanks for the reply, I think I will skip the Bearskin 2.0. I already have a few fleece jackets and one of them is very thick and does a fair job of blocking cold winds. Fleece is a great insulator but for it to be truly effective is reguires a liner to block winds which is difficult to find. Maybe the Bearskins 3.0 will address this issue.
@@royjohnson465Most outdoor jackets have verticle zip pockets, fully verticle on the chest and slanted off to the size. Much easier to use onehanded and tend to be deeper than horizontal and lots dont have any side pockets, only on the verticle chest so it will fit better with a harness. Keep them zipped and you won't lose anything. Stay away from the cheap Chinese bearskin tho, not worth it, just good marketing.
im pretty happy with it for sure. The first one I reviewed was nice until I tried this one. This is definitely better. And both my wife and I have been wearing them with no complaints.
I purchased two if these based on the positive reviews. I've never been more disappointed with an online purchase. The fit is baggy and the fabric feels like a thick, cheap microfiber cleaning cloth. Feels synthetic to me. Please note their return policy before purchase: "Once an item has been shipped, we do not accept any returns or exchanges. All sales are final."
Says it's minus 3 but it's not crazy cold lol. Perfect example of differing perspectives. Must be Celsius! Also, what size did you get? Do you feel it's true to size or a little oversized? I'm between a large and XL in most things, and for example always wear XL t-shirts and am a 38 waist at almost 6ft. Their large says 42-44.
I’m not on a budget but I’m not spending 140 buck on a “ Tactical bearskin hoodie” A friend of mine bought one at best he said it’s ok but he’s really pissed I keep calling it a testicle foreskin hoodie.
Do not buy from Bear Tactical hoodie! I purchased one and it was too small so I contacted them and they told me that they would send me a replacement 2XL instead. It’s been several months and still no replacement hoodie. They haven’t responded to my emails!
I bought one a few weeks ago, love it in every way EXCEPT the main zipper and pockets zippers are much to lightweight for such a high quality garment. I don’t have a crystal ball but I’m guessing they will eventually put out an updated 2.0 version with better zippers I do ultra long distance year round backpacks trips, before I go on my next, I will have my gear tech install zippers that are guaranteed to not fail.
I am interested in purchasing this hoodie, could you be more specific about what you mean about the pockets, and how warm it is as well as the fit. I am small, so would I buy it in a medium size or smaller? A response would be greatly appreciated.
It’s definitely a warm hoodie and all the various pockets are placed in great locations. It does not zip up tight around your neck, so if you’re looking for that, I would purchase a neck fleece tube. The hood is large enough to cover over climbing or skiing helmets and the hoodie covers down your backside to the perfect amount. It’s not wind proof but does a good job of slowing it down. My only complaint is the zippers. bearskin went cheap in this department. Wearing this hoodie around town and regular use, I wouldn’t worry about it! If you plan on it being an integral part of your layering system on a long pack trip, then I would suggest replacing at least the main zipper with a YKK. A good seamstress could probably do this job for around $40.00? I know others have complained about the zippers as well, so it wouldn’t surprise me if in a year or so, they come out with a 4.0 version with real zippers?
When i looked on their site it was just under 100 euros zo say us dollars ar allmost equal at the moment from seeing all 3 i would choose this one, and the Tacvasen as second option. i would leave the first one no matter what price.
Not that warm, zips up backwards, not good. Feel like I got fleeced. They keep adding pockets as if that makes up for the lack of warmth and backwards zipping.
So the issue is I'm a 6'0 tall woman, and the women's one looks too short on length. Do you know anything about which one I should get? Usually, men's stuff in the hip area isn't right for women.
Considering it's kind of an investment piece for a lot of use. You could take the men's to a local tailor & have it tucked in to fit you perfectly. I don't think it would really cost that much & would probably be worth it for a coat you'd wear a lot. I've considered getting jeans fitted since they'd last a really long time.
@@Nirrrina the women's arms were too short, but overall the rest fit, so I'm getting the men's, the sleeves should be fine. Believe me at 183cm, I won't need any tailoring. 😘
It seems like you also faced trouble with the poorly constructed zipper on your jacket at 5:47 To be honest, I hate how the zipper is backwards and the quality of the zippers feels cheap. I don't think this hoodie is worth $99.00 dollars.
well i totally disagree as i have gone to sporting stores to look at brand hoodies like this and their quality doesn't feel any better and the price would be 2-3 times higher.
@@gregtoope I am unsure if you are in a paid partnership, but I cannot see any positive attributes of mine except for its thickness. Additionally, the 28-inch in lennght is not suitable for taller individuals. This is a cheap mass produced jacket.
minie and my wifes fit perfectly. And these are not over priced at all. I was originally looking at a fleece like this from a local sports stopre and would have easily paid 2 to 3 times the amount.
Totally disagree. I wore it all last winter and it worked very well. And thin is not a negative. I wear lots of hoodies and this is my favourite of them all.
This jacket is not good. It is stiff and uncomfortable. I returned it and months later I still have not received my refund. It is a scam. Don't buy this, it is waist of money. There is no place to give a review because they don't have a real website.
totally your opinion. This is not supposed to be a soft jacket. its meant to be durable. And thats what it is. Ive worn mine now for almost 2 years and its great. Sounds like you're possibly looking at something more like a Lululemon jacket. I wear this hoodie everywhere. Plus even in the spring / fall i wear it under my motorcycle jacket as a liner. Its just as good as the day i started wearing it.
Great video, Greg - you have a new subscriber! Just out of curiosity, how's the quality of the pocket material? When I purchased mine, I found the pockets to be very thinly made, and it didn't take long for them to get holes.
Update April 17th 2023 got my 2nd Baerskin Hoodie 2.0 in Black XL today and couldn't be happier. Ordered April 6th delivered April 17th 11 days it took to get here from China and hoodie does not say made in China on the inside arrived in excellent condition no complaints 👍. Pros and Cons = Pros = Hoodie is cool looking and warm and comfortable and lots of pockets. Cons = Would be the shipping process TRACKING WAS NOT AN ISSUE tracked it all the way to the house my only complaint is they should use USPS or FED X or UPS once the package has reached the United States 🇺🇸 instead of any old delivery company you really never heard of. Mine got shipped by Lasership/ OnTrac and alot of reviews for their delivery service sucked alot of 1 stars out of 5. But overall the worry is over I got my Hoodie will I order again YES very soon.
