Which moment from all of the Jurassic franchise is scariest to you? One: Speak up and join the conversation- we encourage respectful debate. Two: Respect your community- racism, misogyny, homophobia and hate speech aren’t tolerated. Three: “Be nice.” - Dalton from Roadhouse
Fun fact: In The Lost World by Michael Crichton, there were two kids. Kelly and Arby. Kelly was older and smart and Arby was younger and smarter. They were both social outcast in their middle school, hence why they were friends. I don't remember either of their parents being divorced.
I just realised these movies treat kids really badly. They're all suffering traumas from divorcing parents, and also getting nearly eaten alive by dinos at every turn.
Honest question, why is this still a thing? Not the reference itself, but the hate behind it? It was a *dream* sequence, it wasn't even real. 17 years down the road and people still can't let that go?! But Raptor T-Rex Diplomacy in Jurassic World was good and fine? Amongst other stupid scenes from that movie. I just really don't get the vitriol behind a throw away joke in a dream scene, over the more stupid, plot affecting aspects of this franchise. Mainly most everything that Colin Trevorrow has wrote into it. I'm glad that more people have taken their nostalgia glasses off for Fallen Kingdom, and realized what utter hack work he's done for the series.
@@deeya To me, it's because it was amusingly stupid, instead of offensively stupid like 99+% of the rest of the movie, and so harmlessly goofy that it seems completely out of place in the franchise as a whole.
This is probably my favorite Honest Trailer so far just because it commits to repeating the same gag over and over until it's run into the ground but it's equally funny every single time.
See the thing about it is that it was in regards to teaching the bird at the beginning of the movie to say his name. Since his obsession with the intelligence of the velociraptor was prevelant and they made that 3d sculpture of the speech pattern of the brain for Raptors, his lucid dream was about raptors being smart enough to say his name as they are relatives of birds and he just tried to teach the other bird to say his name. It's actually a really good joke so I don't understand the flack that it constantly gets. =\
Yeah, I get it. It's just not that funny and it doesn't really add anything to the movie. The reason it gets so much flak is because it is an easy target in a bad movie. If it were the worst scene in a good movie, then it wouldn't be mocked so relentlessly. Unfortunately, it is not anywhere close to the worst scene in this movie.
I believe it's an old comedy rule. I don't remember where I heard about it. Rule of 3's or whatever. first time is funny. second time is not. third, it becomes funny again, and so on, but it jumps around. something like 1, 3, 5, 12... most writers, I've noticed, don't go past 3. at least, not often. if you look for it, you can see the formula.
When a franchise goes on for too long and produces too many mediocre sequels, it eventually becomes a parody of itself. Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Star Trek... there are numerous examples.
He DOES do a cameo in every honest trailer, at least ever since this honest trailer. They are hidden and hard to find, but they are in there somewhere. Look deep into the comments and you'll find at least one comment from the guy that found the Alan in that particular honest trailer.
To be fair, Billy taking the parachute makes a certain sense. In a survival situation it’s dumb to discard or ignore something like that just because you can’t see an immediate use for it.
On the other hand, a parachute of that type easily weighs 11 kilograms (24 lbs) and takes up pretty much all of space for survival goods you may have otherwise stashed in there. That is over what most people can carry over long distances without neck, should or exhaustion issues.
@@EphyStorm Yeah, but Billy is a strapping young type who seems to know his way around a few extreme sports, so its not unfeasible that he at least thought he could handle it.
"Well, that talking dinosaur was weird," you think to yourself. "Meh, it got a chuckle out of me, but it definitely couldn't be funny a second time." And then it was funny EVERY TIME.
Yeah, I think the reason why people hate this movie is because they don't realize that the scenes like that and the "ALAN!" scene are SUPPOSED to be funny.
Say what you will about Alanraptor, but you have to admit, making an animatronic dinosaur say someone's name is pretty damn impressive from a technological perspective. They even get the tongue to move in sync!
I watched this video just to see how many times you showed the dinosaur saying, "Alan!" It did not disappoint, I am literally laughing out loud so hard!!! My favorite running joke you guys do. Thanks!
Please say "Long ago in a distant land, I, Aku, Shapeshifting Master of Darkness, unleashed an UNSPEAKABLE EVIL, but a foolish samurai warrior wielding a magic sword stepped forth to oppose me. "
Just because the internet criticises one dream scene shouldn't change your opinion on it. The idea of the raptors evolving communication with each other and hunting in pairs is pretty scary. Other than Jurassic World that just has humans domesticating them for a Disneyland/SeaWorld park.
I loved it too. But you know, they realized that people got mad because the T-Rex wasn't the ultimate dinosaur. That's my theory on why the T-Rex was the hero in Jurassic World and this next one probably. Just saying.
LegendLeaguer I'm more disturbed by the fact that a supposed national defense force would have the need or funding to advertise for new recruits like this.
Well, at least we didn't have 200 characters running around, BS environmentalist preaching or the worst ending this series has ever seen. I don't know if it's actually superior to The Lost World overall but certainly does several things better.
“Alan” in all honesty I prefer this movie to the Lost World. It’s shorter, it knows what it is. The characters aren’t as awful, it’s faster paced, plus you get to see more dinosaur action throughout
auqustfire agreed. As much as I love Goldblum. He’s not the same enjoyable character we saw in the first movie. He’s a lot more depressed and gloomier. (Granted a lot of it has to do with his experience at the park. But, with that said he still kept his sense of humor even after being chased by the T-Rex). Still, Alan Grant does carry the movie better.
The Rarispy hey at least they aren’t like Vince Vaughn in the lost word where he sabotages the other operation on the island rounding up the dinosaurs getting all those people killed, and even after the other crew saves Vince Vaughn’s crew he steals their bullets preventing them from defending themselves from the T-Rex.
Jurassic Park 3 is one of my biggest guilty pleasure movies. I enjoyed it a lot as a kid and as an adult, I laugh at just how hilariously bad every aspect of it is. It's actually my 2nd favorite in the series. My ranking of the movies: -Jurassic Park 1 -Jurassic Park 3 -Jurassic World -The Lost World
We ought to start some kind of Film Pride Parade, you and I. You know what? I also like this film. I liked this film, and I also enjoyed Doom, Silent Hill, all of the X-Man films and I even loved Suicide Squad! I didn't like Batman Vs. Superman, though. That one kind of sucked...
@@destinyborne561 Much or at least some people tend to hate on movies they only don't like ... and thus they make it uncomfortable for some other people to like these movies openly. I don't care about these people and I love Star Wars Episode I. However, Jurassic Park 3 is also in my opinion the weakest part of the franchise; but still a good movie.
In Jurassic Park 3's defence the reason Billy carried the parachute was because grant told him to bring it so when they made it to the mainland of the island they could use it to signal for help. The parts with the raptor calls was because grant had been studying raptors and was amazed by they're calls when they were on the island. Finally as for the talking raptor scene to quote good bad flicks the scene was added to add a little bit of humor and to show us that grant had PTSD from his experience on the first island, and if you think it ridiculous remember it was just a dream meaning that it never happened, while in the lost world Jurassic Park Ian Malcolm's daughter really did use gymnastics to kill a raptor. But glad to see you guys finally made an honest trailer for Jurassic Park 3, the Jurassic Park honest trailer trilogy has come to an end until fallen kingdom comes out on bluray.
How have I never noticed that? And *why*- why is every child character starring in the series either going through divorce/struggle or has already divorced parents? What’s up with that?
Let's be honest. If you were on an island of dinosaurs, 6 people saying 'oh my god' nine times in combined isn't what you'd call overkill on the phrase.
SylenDraws I watched it more as a kid because it was on TV more than the first but my parents loved me enough to introduce me to the first one before any of the others lol
*Okay, people. Before you start this video, grab a bottle of vodka. Now, whenever a raptor says "Alan!" in the video, you take a shot. Last person sober wins!*
i love how he's saying that putting "my god" in 9 times is lazy, when he has the dinosaur saying "Alan" like a million times but don't get me wrong, i love the videos
