Hey joe, why have 2 ppl left negative comments. This recipe not only works brilliant, but it saves a ton of money versus buying honey bee healthy. This video has made a huge huge difference to us here in the uk. Once again thanks joe
Thanks for the info this was the most informative one on RU-vid as far what to do and what not to do all most missed the part about not using the lemon grass oil in the summer dirth!
Thanks for making this video Joe. It works much better than Honey b Healthy did for me. The discount for the oils was greater than 10%, I bought the 4oz bottles
Joe I enjoyed the video. I'm getting ready to start feeding the same formula to my "ankle biters" ...I have about 25 nukes ready to start making splits soon.
This is a good formula for the bees...however...you can blend oil and water til the cows come home...oil and water don't mix and will separate unless you use an emulsification agent like lecithin to bind them together.
I will disagree with you. If you put the oils and water in a blender and put it on high it beets air in the water the air act like an emulsifier. I have had it stay emulsified for months.
You are a grown man. Dip if you want to. Glad to see people considering nutrient value for bees. Plain sugar water has zero nutrient value. Nectar bees use from flowers do have nutrient in addition to sugars. nice video. Dip on.
Little Bits Honey Bees joe may This document mentioned nothing about trace elements contained in nectar. It is also a government propaganda tool aimed at beekeepers. The government continuously lies about everything no matter who is in office. I do not trust anything they say about anything. The continuing decline of not only the Honeybee but Humanity is all the proof I need that they are liars. Look at what is going on in society that the government says is acceptable. This is why I trust no gov document that only repeats some of the information they gained from talking with beekeepers. This document was a waste of taxpayers money and all it did was to fill more fatcats pockets and feed them another free buffet provided by me and you without our permission.
Do you have any documents that states bee don't thrive on sugar. If you do please post. From all that I read the only thing bees need from nectar or sugar is carbs. They get all there protein and micro nutrients from pollen.
If you, as a person, drink sugar water and someone else drinks fruit juices but they eat the same thing as solid food which one will develop diabetes? The person that drinks just sugar water of course. The person ingesting trace elements from fruit juices will be healthier. The person that uses Biblical knowledge on nutrition not only lives longer but is more clear minded. They produce smarter children as well. Raise them in God's way and they shall not depart from it. Everyone knows drinking nothing but soda will sooner or later give you all kinds of issues, loss of teeth, liver disease, cancer, ect. how then does trusting a government document have more meaning than scripture concerning nutrition and health? Milk and Honey are two of God's promises to us. Should we then as Beekeepers not consider these nutrition facts given to us by God Himself when feeding bees?
@@ArtistBrianSheffield I assume Artwork that you were brought up on Biblical knowledge on nutrition, but I do not see where you are smarter than anyone else. Soda is not sugar water - it also has CO2 gas. Fruit juices leads to fatty liver and Diabetes just the same as any high sugar diet. Not sure what nutrition facts you inply God himself gave. There were no facts just dogma.
Hello. Thank you for posting this video. I had seen the one Don posted, but didn't really understand the ratio to syrup. Can you tell me best time to feed this? Before nectar flow and during dearth?
Ok following up my last post for myself and others how much water is used pleased in the mix,as it looks as if it's a random amount used. We have all the oils purchased. Tea tree, lemon grass, spearmint and winter green.
It dose not really matter, you just don't want a lot because the oil will not get beat up enough. You need to add the mix to a half gallon of water for concentrate, In the video I said to use ten drops of lemon grass oil use one drop. Don't use lemon grass oil in the summer it will cause robbing. Only use it in the spring.
Hi Joe - do you store this in the refrigerator? I just made some of this tonight. My bees are thirsty :) - They cleaned out 1/2 to 3/4 gallon 1-1 in 4 days before I made this so I topped off the syrup tonight with some of this and not sure if I refrigerate it or leave it out?
@@LittleBitsHoneyBeesjoemay thank you Joe I left the concentrate out on the counter I didn't think it needed to be refrigerated but I asked to make sure. I appreciate your help thank you.
Has anyone used this formula/concentrate for winter feeding via sugar cakes? Or what would the concoction be to add to sugar cakes and or grease cakes for fall until spring? I'm in zone 5. thanks so much!! ;D
