Happy Thanksgiving Laura - I made the most bland ham the past two years (bland, wet, and flavorless) so I searched the net and ran across your recipe. Result: it was AMAZING! My six year old son ate 5 large pieces and my wife and daughter raved. This is a staple dish for us from now on. You have found a total fan in me! Thanks for sharing :-)
Six years later and still going strong. I searched RU-vid for a recipe for a glazed ham for my Christmas Eve dinner and chose yours, and it came out marvelous. However I cooked it in my roasting pan and after heating it the first time I added the drippings to the glaze in my sauce pan before I poured the glaze over the ham. My son absolutely loved it and I had a nice amount of glaze at the end to dip the pieces of the ham in. Thank you Laura. Merry Christmas 🎄
Laura I can't tell you how my family and I were amazed by this recipe. I watch you every single day. You are my star, you made my life easier and my table very fancy.
The wife and I decided to try this same recipe for our thanksgiving today and it definitely came through. Everyone loved it. This was our first time making a ham and we were a bit worried that ppl wouldn’t like it too much but that was not the case at all. Props to you ms Laura in the kitchen. Clutch!
I just finished making and eating this for my family's Easter dinner and it was amazing! I love how carmalized and beautiful it looked, 10/10 I can recommend this recipe!
Thanks so much for your recipe it turned out delicious, my family said it was the best they had. I put mines in a roaster pan with the rack, I added a little water to the bottom to keep it moist.
I made this tonight for our Canadian Thanksgiving dinner and everyone loved it. They even all went back for a second serving of ham. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe. Cheers Shanell.
I made this ham for Easter. Spectacular doesn't begin to describe how scrumptious this ham was. Thank you !! Thank you !!! Thank you !!!! From now on this is our Easter dinner. The family couldn't stop raving about it.
I’ve been making this recipe for the past 4 years now and everyone always loves it as do I. Once again making it today for thanksgiving. You’re awesome
Ya that is definitely over cooked. Its not the edges, of course the sugar is going to brown(and to me, thats the best part) but you can tell that thing is very dry just from looking at it. Great concept, she just cooked it @ to high of a temp and for way too long.
I made this jam at Easter and it is now my signature ham. I’ve never tasted better ham in my life! No it’s not burnt. It’s glazed and makes the skin sooo good.. I promise you’ll never taste a better ham in your life!!! On God!
Laura, you’re my cooking angel!! God bless you! I’m making your ham now in Chicago. We celebrated Easter with my husband’s family last Sunday and now we’re having our own because he loves ham soo much! Thank you for sharing your recipe.

Laura by now I've used this recipe on about 5 or 6 occassions. YOU make me look good every time. 🤗 my family n friends are so impressed with how my ham is always so delicious. I promise I'm gonna tell them about u one of these days, just not today lolll 😉
panda dafuq sorry.. I am just now getting this. I myself have always purchased the hickory smoked ham so I am not too sure how it would come out. I can’t imagine it would be bad. The glaze it self is packed with flavor. Sorry I was so late in responding. Hope it all turned out great for you.
Well if u can follow directions and u find the right recipe then yes u can cook...But if u want to be even better than just an ordinary cook that is where u take a recipe and make it better thats what a chef does.
@@nathanhawkins8329 I really always thought that most people that cook learned from parents or elders as they grew up. My husbands fam is Italian and they all know how to cook with their eyes closed lol. It’s crazy...I’m the only one in my fam who secretly looks for recipes on the Internet...ha. But thanks that makes me feel much better:)
I made this for Easter, everybody loved it. It isn't too sweet. It is delicious. I also made the carrot cake (huge hit), spinach dip and the warm potato salad. I nailed my first Easter (as a cook ) thanks to you. Your recipes are so easy to follow.
I don't understand why your not on actual tv you clearly have a gift...I would love to see you on the food network doing what you do so well...Laura vitals next food network star
Best ham, ever. Wir hatten den ham zu Thanksgiving und konnten nicht genug davon bekommen. Alle waren begeistert. Vielen Dank. I made this ham for Thanksgiving and the family couldn’t get enough. We are now making this again for Christmas dinner, instead of the traditional goose. Thank you.
I made this last year for Thanksgiving and it was a big hit. I've come back because I've been asked to make it again. For those saying that it is over cooked and dry...that's not the case. It's perfectly carmelized and tastes great. I soaked the ham in cold water for 1 hour before starting so that it wasn't so salty. Maybe this is the reason that it wasn't dry. This year I'm making 2 hams because there were no leftovers last year.
used your recipe for thanksgiving along with the Turkey, so delicious! now making it for my family Christmas dinner along with everything else. thank you Laura Merry Christmas
Well its 7 am and its Thanksgiving, i sure hope it comes out as great as yours does. I will post after i taste my ham. My first time making it for my Family. Yikes. Happy Thanksgiving. =(^.~)=
i cooked this ham and sliced it myself exactly the way yours is and it was so NOT dry omg its a beautiful recipe and am making it again this xmas thank you so much for your recipes my family loves them especially the ham
That looks very dry and that's always my fear with a pre-sliced ham. I would rather cook an unsliced ham because it's only logical that it would retain moisture better and only need one final basting to finish it. I also like to put about an inch of apple juice in the bottom of the pan. It prevents any of the sugars from sticking, makes a wonderful sauce and makes the ham incredibly juicy.
I bought a slice ham fully cook already... what would u suggest ? should I just out it in the over for an hour and 30 mins? please get to me ASAP Im doing it in 11 hours :(
Mika Ballack I would bake the ham at 275 degrees, no hotter than that since it's already cooked and you only want to get it heated through. Cook it between 12-15 minutes per pound of ham. Put some kind of liquid in the bottom of your pan, about an inch of either apple cider, apple juice or just plain water, this will help steam the ham and keep it moist. Baste your ham with your favorite basting ingredients like honey or a brown sugar and butter mixture. Let your ham rest covered after heating it up for about 10 minutes before you uncover it to serve.
Renee andChuck I agree. I like her recipe for the glaze, but 350 degrees for 2 1/2 hours, on a fully cooked ham is too long. The ham in this vid is clearly overcooked.
I have to thank you for this recipe 🙏🏻 I saw your video 2 yrs ago & I always come back just to make sure I’m not forgetting anything. Happy Thanksgiving ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks once again!!!
I tried your recipe and it is the best honey glazed ham I have ever eaten. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe. This is what I will make every time because this is just such a great recipe. Love it.
You must be making it wrong then, mine wasn't burnt or dry! You need to leave the right amount of fat on it... Also, you don't have to cook it until it's burnt, take it out of the oven when you see it's the right colour...
damn girl you burnt that ham. you had to dip it in juices to choke it down! lol. No need to dip if you cook it right. Turn your heat down, your drying it out. low heat at long hours for more flavor.
laura don't even bother talking to those people. People love criticizing others who have talent. You have so many viewers who love what you do and your recipes! You looked so cute in the bunny ears! :) love you!
