I made something similar for my Secret Santa gift at work. The person whose name I got is into healthy eating so i got a big mason jar and I put all the dry ingredients into it in layers (like those cake or cookie recipe gift jars) and then put the instructions on a printed tag (add honey and oil and bake etc) and tied it around with a ribbon. My version had oats, shredded natural coconut, almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds. It looked really pretty and i made a batch myself with the same ingredients and it was super tasty. My giftee said it was the best Secret Santa present she'd ever received at work.

Thank you for the delicious recipe. Made a few modifications. Only used 1/4 cup of honey and increased water by 1/4 cup for the moisture content. I used sesame oil and seeds, walnuts, almonds and pumpkin seeds. Just sweet enough for my taste and the sesame oil adds another dimension 🙂.

Made these today and they are absolutely delicious! I reduced the amount of brown sugar since the honey I used was sweet enough, and I sprinkled desiccated coconut on top at the end which gave it a lovely kick. Thanks so much for sharing!

Wow! Really delicious recipe. Honey can bring so much difference in taste. I strongly feel it has to be pure for good taste and health. I have been using Trueney honey in my smoothies and health drinks. I was surprised to see 11 varieties, each one is unique.

This video from Jan 12, 2017 you were making honey granola, I saw a stand you had in the corner with all your cookware, where can I buy one like that. My husband bought a lot of cast iron and no place to put it. This would be great. Thank you.

Made these two days back and they taste great but I have a question and i.e. next time when I bake, is it ok if I substitute oil with unsalted butter? Next, I request plz don't make your videos short (as suggested by a few) coz I love listening to all your details about the recipe that really helps especially for a beginner baker like me. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your knowledge!!! God bless.

Thank you for this recipe. It looks absolutely delicious. If I wanted to use unsweetened coconut, when would be the best time to add it. I love toasted coconut but I would be afraid it would burn if put in at the beginning. Please advise. thank you

Just made another batch of this great granola mix. It's the only recipe I use anymore! Was wondering, do you have any ideas on how to make Apple/Cinnamon snack bars with the soft outer dough covering? Similar to the Kellogg's or Nature Valley brands? I'm sure homemade would taste so much better and without all the unreadable ingredients. :)

I just watched back to back 2 of your Granola recipes. First one you just mixed the wet ingredients in a bowl than pour onto dry ingredients. This one you heated up the wet ingredients. Why the difference? Does it make a difference? Love your videos.
@joyofbaking
@joyofbaking 10 месяцев назад
I heated the ingredients mainly because of the honey, as when it’s a liquid it’s easier to mix it with the dry ingredients.

Is it possible to skip the oil? or to add less?
@barbarabaume4461
@barbarabaume4461 7 лет назад
FYI - whole flax seeds are not digestible, so their nutrients pass through the body unused. Better to use flax *meal,* which you can either purchase, or grind your own from the whole seeds (which is what I do).
@chillyandvanillabyChefKriti
Hi Stephanie, I plan to gift this to someone in sufficient quantity so they cud store it for a few days too. So could I add dried cranberries or raisins, pack and give? Or does adding the dried fruit to the whole lot makes it soggy? Plz advise. Thanks
@joyofbaking
@joyofbaking Год назад
An idea would be to put the dried fruits in a separate container that could be added to the granola at serving time.
@chillyandvanillabyChefKriti
@@joyofbaking cud these dried fruits be added towards the last 4-5 mins of baking Stephanie? Or added as soon as the baking process is done and letting everything cool while dry fruits get a bit of heat from the hot granola? how about chocolate chips? Can they be mixed once granola is cooled or do they also need to be kept separate only? Sorry too many doubts but just trying to get some clarity..

Great recipe. I know this is for honey taste but how would modify the recipe to use coconut oil?
@joyofbaking
@joyofbaking 7 лет назад
The recipe calls for 1/4 cup (60 ml/grams) of flavorless oil. I would replace that with coconut oil.

Can we make it with instant oats instead of rolled oats?
@joyofbaking
@joyofbaking 4 года назад
Not sure if that would work as they are very thin. If you wanted to try it you would need to stir the granola a lot and it wouldn't take as long to bake as old fashioned rolled oats.

Hey! I really like your videos and recipes. They are so delicious. Also, a quick suggestion: Is there anyway you can make your videos little shorter? I believe you're a perfectionist and you go in every single detail. Thats good and all but that sometimes makes your videos unnecessarily too long and a little boring.

I have a question, after baking the granola at 180 Celsius for 20 minutes, when it cools down the granola is sticky and not crisp enough. Where and how should I improve??
@nisaleerasara
@nisaleerasara 7 лет назад
Niyati Savani You haven't baked it all the way through, she said to take it out after 20 minutes and toss it around and put it *back in the oven* for another 15-20 minutes, checking every 5 minutes to make sure it's not burning.
