*Bought this fan for the summer and so far it works great **Fastly.Cool** ! It's very quiet and not too loud, but also acts as a "white noise" when I go to sleep. No complaints from me!*
I just cleaned out one of these and have another one to clean. I didn't unscrew the Motor or anything like that but between some Cleaning Wipes, a Tongue Depressor (for cleaning through the Grillwork all over), Popsicle Stick (to get the tinier areas) and some Canned Air to get all around the Motor and those parts, I got it pretty clean. It was starting to make a little rattling noise before I cleaned it, but afterward, it runs so nice and quiet, just like it did when I first bought it! 😍
I've had this fan for like a year and for some reason, they hid the screws in just the right way where I could never figure out how to open it up. For a while I just assumed they sonically welded the plastic or something. I was considering just buying a new one, but I figured I'd look up the model number, and your video was the first result. Huge, huge thanks for covering my blind spot with this one 😅
@@allthesense I have a fan just like this and it's filthy as yuck! Now I can clean it with no problem. Thanks for the video. What screwdriver do you recommend for a job like this?
This is honestly a very good cleaning video of a fan. I see a lot of fans that are never cleaned out for years and they look disgusting and that fan is looking way better now than before.
After spending about 45 minutes trying to realign the screws in my fan after watching your video it was so simple thank you so much save me a lot of time and my fan is working perfectly. Great video. Appreciate it greatly.
OMG ! I used Vaccum and then Blower to clean up; still messy sticky web and dust. You Tube Guru rescued me . Thanks for sharing. In fact for everything; it is good to check youtube and then start do it yourself. You are a good guy. Thanks once again.
Thanks! This is a public service. I'm lazy and just took off the front cover. I run the front cover in the shower, and the rest of it, a damp microfiber rag and a air compressor to clean out.
Great Job! After a summer of non stop running at the bottom of my desk, yeah its time for a cleaning! Thanks for the how to on taking it apart and back together!
Thanks for this video I love my little fan and will not let it go, 4 years strong and I am just finding out how to clean. No more cotton swab cleaning that takes forever.
Thank you for this video! I was looking for a video to see how to clean mine like this one. I feel so stupid now. I kept fighting with it trying to get the 2 parts apart with no luck.😂
True…I don’t have the right skinny Philips to get it off-so no more Honeywell fans for me-it’s pretty much a rip off. My other fan has a front that just pops off to clean it.
@@robint-orton69 lol 1 year ago...I ended up just ripping the front off, and it's still going...kinda. I have to hand start it like an old plane engine.
Yep, my wife wanted me to toss hers and I wanted to try to fix it. The rear bearing needed reseating and lube. Good as new. Appreciate videos like this.
None of my Phillips screwdrivers has a shaft that is skinny enough and long enough to reach these screws, so I’m stuck using pipe cleaners to get the gunk off the fan blades and the vent grids. I looked for this video to see whether a regular person was actually able to reach these screws and, more importantly, get them back in through those deep wells. Even if I buy a long enough small Phillips, I’m afraid I won’t get the darn faceplate back on.
Love the fan but it’s the WORSE to clean. I’ve bought 3 of them because the clean up process gives me a headache, but we are going to try to clean it todah
why you had motor out you should of put a couple drops on front and Back( a little trickier) bearing felt area, just let it drip , a few times down shaft into bearing felt for rear ~Its critical to making these last a long time
Just needed a smooth blast of compressed air to do 80% of your work. The real thing lubing up the bushings you missed totally. Thats the most imp thing. Can be done easily with a long spout and SAE20 or 30 oil 2 drops.
That's a tough one, I would try to take the rest out and pry it open a little to put some force on the screw and try unscrewing it. Thanks for watching kathleenbrennan3955.
Can you share the type of screw driver you used? I don’t have one that is narrow and long enough to fit so I have to buy one, but I can’t see down to see what screw head is needed and because of lockdown I can’t take it into the store to test. Thanks for the video, it’s amazing how challenging a simple task can be.
It’s a small Phillips, but I don’t have one with a shaft that is skinny enough and long enough to reach them, so I’m stuck using pipe cleaners to get the gunk off the fan blades and the vent grids.
OH MY! So, I pulled out only the blades and now the fan won't come on? I didn't unscrew any of the inner screws, the fan just slid out, but after cleaning and putting back together, it doesn't work, sad. WHY?
I have the same exact fan,it was all dusted and furred up from my cats hairs.Mine was making a vibrating sound so I wanted to take off the fan blade but I don't know how to do it. Does anybody know how to take the blade off of this fan?
