I needed a new one, so son-in-law bought this one. I pretty much hate it. Never had a problem with any other progammable ones. I'm home around the clock now, so this video helped bypass all that preset stuff easily. Even had a hard time removing the faceplate to replace dead batteries, which not only makes the light disappear, but the entire thermostat not work.
Thank you! This is the third or fourth time I've been up in the middle of the night trying to figure out this stupid thermostat will never buy Honeywell again but thanks to you at least I'll survive till then
In fact I'm house shopping and seeing a Honeywell thermostat might make me run away LOL no Honeywell in my home and don't forget those of you who have pets dont programme it and end up freezing them or something!
@@lauras3871 Hey, I here in my house now with a bit of a chill and I think I'm done with this thing. I'm going shopping online for something better. Your timing couldn't have been any better.
You’re good teacher sir thank you so much for sharing your video with us it really helped both of us here we didn’t know how to set it up without your video we should be freezing in the house. Again thank you for your video hopefully looking forwards to more god bless u 👍🏾
How come when i push the hold button, i select my temperature. Then it goes right back to the previous temperature. It does not stay on the temp i set it at
Yes, that was my problem too! But I also noticed my heat wouldn’t turn on unless i made the temperature at least one degree higher than what the room temperature is.
@@lauras3871 what’s happening is that let’s say it’s at 71 degrees and you want 69. When you put it on 69 it will then go back to 71 because it doesn’t instantly change. It takes time then it moves back to 69. But yours might just be broken.
I’ve found with my thermostat, I have to press down on the hold button, at the SAME time I’m adjusting the temperature set to where I want it. Then lift off your fingers of both buttons at the SAME time. (Yep, mine is that fickle) Then it will kick in, it can up to 2 minutes. This is the most sensitive thermostat, I’ve ever had to deal with.
Omg...thank you so much. It's just THAT simple!! I appreciate you so much. I just want to set it and forget it...and YOU have FINALLY made that possible for me.
Thank you so much! I had this thermostat installed and the owner's manual doesn't tell you how to use it as a regular thermostat. My heat is now on, thanks to you!!
Thanks on how to turn off the settings and just use manual. The last troubleshooter showed me how to change the batteries. Which that was the first thing I learned when I bought the thing several years ago. One other thing. Perhaps you went into that later in the video but I triggered the circuit breakers a few weeks ago. I accidentally turned off the heater switch when I was resetting the circuit breakers.
Most people want a simple manual thermostat. Programming is ridiculous when your dealing with 4 seasons Laziness not to turn it down before you go to work or bed
That's a fantastic tutorial! Thank you! For those that think it's too complicated or that want to set it manually, simply set the fan to auto, set to heat for heating or cool for cooling, and press the up or down arrow to get your desired temperature setting. Then press hold to hold that temperature setting permanently. You can reset the up or down arrows anytime you want manually.
BOB G. That's the way it works on my thermostat, Bob. If you want to view another set of instructions on how to program it manually, here's a good video. You can forward to the 5 minute mark to get to the manual settings. It's very clear and easy to understand. I hope this helps. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-PpCtxqPKLnA.html
Thanks I'm on the 2nd floor alone and this was installed for me and I accidentally set the setback and was pissed the temp was changing, all I had to do was use the hold button! I'm dumb, thanks again. Btw I thought those were ur nails until you mentioned your wife I was like CUT THOSE THINGS!
@@DoggoDoggie no i wasn't able to. In the end it was the actual unit reversing valve was bad. I replaced the thermostat to a non programable one and called it a day.
I followed your instructions which seems pretty clear and works for the first two seconds, then the temperature goes right back to 85. It's so hot in here. I thought it was me doing it wrong. I just had to turn it off. I may have to buy a cooler that hooks into my window-idk
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU. GREAT VIDEO, YOU ANSWERED MY QUESTION 100%. AND THAT WAS HOW TO TURN THE THERMOSTAT ON. THANK YOU. Set to COOL Set to AUTO Press HOLD- to see it on the screen Set the TEMPERATURE to where uou want it. THANK YOU AGAIN
Thank you so much for you’re super video I love your video I was just struggling on how to set it up the Honeywell. I am so thankful for your help I couldn’t do it without getting help from you video I’m glad I did watch it thank you
You at home, want to just cool down your spot without using the stupid schedule, set your crap to cool, set to On, hit hold, the up or down which will show you the current temp setting, if you don't like your current temp setting just set it to your liking, and few seconds later it'll Jump back to the current temp at your spot. Don't worry it is now set to your liking.
Still confused but picked up enough to do what I wanted. My roommates keep it at 68 here day and night when it isn't even over 85 outside!! I have to bundle up just to be comfortable. All I wanted to do was set it to 72 and I had to watch a fckn video for it. Thanks!
Thank you so much this I’ll never buy this product again! It shouldn’t be sooo difficult to gauge the temperature I just want a simple regular thermostat…up for higher heat..low for cooler temp!
What do I do if it’s not clicking on once setting it. I set it up to adjust the temp daily, not a set schedule. I have the settings on cool with the fan as you indicated and set the temp to 72 but it’s 78 in the house and the unit is not turning on at all. Any suggestions on how to get the unit to click on? Thank you!!
Can u plz tell me how I set just one tempature like I put 68. Than when my room tepareture 68 than heat on other wise heat is off. That’s I want . Plz tell how I put. Thanks
Shifty set it to off, then back to cool, turn your fan to On, now hit the Hold which is showing your current temp, if you hit up or down button that will show you the current temp setting, adjust it to your liking with the Up or down button, few sec later it'll switch back to your current temp at your spot, but you now set it to your liking.
Shifty, first set to heat or cool, then set your desired temperature with the up or down arrows, and then press the hold button to permanently hold your manual setting.
Younique Nails - I had to pay someone to come and fix it. They had to go in back of the house and turn the breaker back on. So, you should let someone in your household that knows go turn it back on. Also it has to do with the filter also. Every 6 months it needs to be changed. So, it needs to be looked at.
Ken P see comments like those are what pisses me off, wtf dude, his trying to help us, what the hell does it matter, I didn't even notice that actually I don't even care want they look it, when some one is taking time to be helpful, perhaps u such take a few pointers! dude
lol you all are supposed to be here to get some info on how to set this thing not talk about somebody's nails if anything you should complain about the focus. I almost got dizzy, yet this was a bit more helpful. Dang.
Thanks for sharing this video but my thermostat after I set everything it keeps going back down to 65 when it’s cold here in my city it won’t stay at 72 What am I doing wrong?
when your cooling in the summer you should have it set to 'auto' not on .the on setting only turns the indoor fan on but not the outdoor condenser so your house doesn't cool but air will come out .
The fan setting is just that. It is to keep the air moving. Moving air is cooler air. You set it to auto when heating because moving air is cooler air. But your preference is fine.
I wonder, how do I completely reset the thermostat to factory settings? Taking out the batteries did not do the trick…I was playing around and turned the setback function by accident and now I cannot turn it off. Thank you!
To rest hold up and down arrows at the same time then you will see a big number pop on the screen. Hold the arrows at the same time till you see the number 40 pop up and a small 0 or 1 in the bottom right corner. You may need to release the up and down arrows in-between each large number that pops on the screen but once you see the 40 hit one arrow up or down till you see the 0 turn into a 1 and hit run. This will reset the thermostat back to factory settings! Hope this will be helpful to someone out there!!
Why do you put the fan to "On" instead of "Auto" for the air conditioner? I thought it was supposed to stay on auto to keep constant temperature regardless. HELP!! I think mines stuck on 80 something on air and I can't get it to cool, temps keep rising.
When inside is hot 76 the temp has to be set to 77 or higher in order for inside to get warm and turn on. Dam 90 too hot. Make sure windows are caulked in cracks.cover ac sides with mask tape
This is the only video I can find on this model how do you make it to where you can just adjusted normally mine is locked numbers will not go up and down but I can hit set stuff and and make matters worse
Ok so Im freezing and I have always this problem getting the heat on. I did the hold option and nothing. It goes back to the temperature it initially read. Help pleasee!!
I just bought one of these. it always reads room temperature as setpoint. room varies between 68 and 72. it is set at 70 and always reads 70. it turns on at 70 and off at 70. its always 70 but room fluctuates by 4 degrees so how can it cycle and always be reading room temp as 70?? never saw this before. usually they turn on at 69 and off at 71 but this one does not move from 70
I have the exact thermostat as this one. But I have the temp set for 70 but it is 84 in my apartment and it is blowing warm air even though I have it on the cool/auto setting. Why is it blowing warm air?
if you have it on cool and your fan is on auto and it is blowing warm you need to have freon added or the outside unit may need one of numerous parts so the compressor comes on. You shouldn't have warm air blowing when its on cool, obviously, but your a/c wouldn't come on if you had the temp and cool settings are on. The thermo believes it is turning the compressor on.
I have suffered with this stupid difficult thing for the last 4 winters. It's torture. I still haven't figured out how to use it. I never know if I'll have heat.
Oh thank you sweet stranger. I was pressing all of the buttons lol 🤦♀️ didn't realize I had turned the fan on and was wondering why heat didn't come on lol
ok..now how the hell do I completely reset or erase all the programming? In other words, how do I reset it to when it was first activated with none of the daily unrealistic programming?
I have an issue with this thermostat. It works great on the weekends. But come Monday morning it shuts off at 5am and won't come back on until evening time. I work 2nd shift so I sleep during the day and it gets upwards of 85° in my apartment and I can't sleep. I have replaced the batteries, reset the thermostat, I've had it on hold. Nothing seems to work. Any advice?
HI MY SCREEN WENT BLANK I CHANGED THE BATTERY IT LIT UP HOWEVER THE THERMONSTAT KEEPS GOING TO 72 IT WONT GO DOWN AND STAY, SO ITS NOT CONNECTING TO THE HEAT
