Most complicated thermostat ever. Whoever designed this needs to be reassigned. Most don't care about setting a temp every day...we just want to be able to set a temp and adjust it up and down manually. I have no idea how to do that with this monstrosity.
To maintain one constant temp Select your "system" setting of cool or heat Set your "fan" setting to auto. Press the hold button once. You will see the word HOLD on the LCD screen. Use the arrow keys to select desired temperature and that's it! You can adjust the temp up and down at anytime just don't hit the hold button again. I'm not a fan of this system either, I hope this helps 💖
this helps but now it wont stop coming on. I set the desired temp but regardless of whether its warmer or colder outside it continues to come on. its so annoying
When I hit hold and adjust the temp it reverts back to. room temp of 83 and does not cool back down to 77. 'Hold' and 'set' are flashing and I hear the fan but the temp does not go down. For some reason it now defaults to 83.
I too agree the device is absurdly over-designed, and for this reason I usually just set a particular temperature and keep it on Hold. However, just for kicks one day I took the time to learn the programmable stuff, and this video does a very good job of showing us how to set it up. In my case, I only need two settings per day, not the four options: when I get up in the morning I want it to be in the 70s, and when I go to bed I want the temperature as low as possible to save money. You have to set all four time/temperature settings per day anyway, so what I did was just set 7 AM for 72°, then just pick some time say, 8 AM for 72°, 1 PM for 72°, and 11 PM at 60°. The one nice thing about having it programmed like this is just before I get up in the morning the heater automatically turns on, so the house is warmed up before I get out of bed. And when I go to bed I don't have to remember to turn down the thermostat to save money.
This is the A/C my apt has and it’s so frustrating. I live in Georgia so when my A/C starts blasting at 83 instead of 72 like I have it preset, it’s incredibly annoying
This is what happened to me and I cannot undo it. When I hit hold and adjust the temp it reverts back to. room temp of 83 and does not cool back down to 77. 'Hold' and 'set' are flashing and I hear the fan but the temp does not go down. For some reason it now defaults to 83.
I am also in Georgia and it cold the room temp stay at 71 and cannot increase it to at least 73 or 74. the right temp I can control but cannot change the left from 71 any suggestions
99.9 % of population just want to set a temp for cool or heat every day and walk away. not have 4 different temps programmed throughout the day and a special program for weekend. stupid. maybe here is my niche
I have this same unit in my apartment. It’s not intuitive at all. You can not operate it without going to RU-vid and watching a video to learn how to adjust the temp. I’d much rather have the old fashion kind with only one knob that you turn left (to turn down the heat) or right (to turn up the heat).
@@liawhitney2202 its 100 degrees here in florida and me and my children are burning up. Theres a special place in hell for the dickhead that invented this.
Why would anyone pre set temperatures for each individual day?! Why go through the headache of having unique temps throughout the week and then have one for the weekend. I’m currently sitting in my apartment with a temperature of 80 in Texas during the summer 😩 I’ve tried resetting it, I’ve tried over riding the preset temp but it keeps going back to 84. The creators of this thermostat should be fined and taken to court, there is no need to make something so overly complicated.
Whoever came up with this thermostat, I hope they have to have it in their house the rest of their lives...because I just spent 3 hours trying to turn down the temptation from 85....in the middle of summer...in the south with 100% humidity. Only for the mid-level solution to be hidden in a 40min video 🙃.
This is a crazy video. What if you don’t want to program separate temps 4x/day, not incl weekends? I just want to have an arrow up & down to pick my temp. So simple. That is what I want to do. To no avail...
Sweating my arse off here. Like many other commenters; I press hold, set it to 74, and then it just goes back to 79. When I press the arrow key, 74 flashes as set but it's still 79...It is so hot. Has anyone figured this thing out???
I got this! just press hold button, keep pressing arrow key when both “hold” and“set” are flashing, then adjust the temperature to 75. then don't do anything, that will be useful
It doesn't seem to work. When I hit hold and adjust the temp it reverts back to. room temp of 83 and does not cool back down to 77. 'Hold' and 'set' are flashing and I hear the fan but the temp does not go down. For some reason it now defaults to 83. I have to release 'hold' then set the temp, but it then defaults to 83 again.
What a fucking nightmare. What happened to just setting a temperature and walking away. I'm not even old. I'm 27 and I have a college level education and feel like I need a degree in top tech. Sweating my ass of here because some rich champagne sipping middle aged women probably wanted different temperatures set for every day of the week and top tech had to satisfy that shitty worthless market.
As a woman myself, I can honestly say that we don't want a bunch of overly complicated tech stuff. Historically that's been a man thing. "Hey, dude, look at what my (insert any technology) can do." It's most def not a woman thing.
I thank you for the Video, i did everything you said but my problem is my thermostat time is different than my watch time. Ex: its 3:30 pm on my Thermostat and is 6 :28 Am on the real time ! How can i solve that Problem?
I have the same problem. I can’t find where any one says how to actually change the time on the thermostat to match real time. Has any one figured out how to do that? Setting my temps don’t work bc I do t have the actual time showing correctly.
Mine has 2 the first is set to 85 idk who or how it was set to that then I press the arrows to lower to 65 but after I press the arrows it goes back to 85
I see a lot of people saying they are pressing "Hold" first. Mine, I had to press the down arrow until it flashes, select the temp I want, hit hold, and then no touchy. Granted, I'm only a few hours in at 3 am but if it doesn't work I'll update the post.
I found a manual. I tried to comment the link, but no luck. Model # PSTSL21P52 I am testing the Extended Hold (Vacation) Mode First I reset then pressed Hold to by pass the scheduled times.
I really don’t like this thermostat. No matter how many how to’s videos I watch, still can’t figure it out >:-/ I usually end up frigging turning it off. Fortunately, I can stand the cool at night where I’m located. Grrrrr....
Please stop making this brand of thermostats :( I never want to encounter one of these in an apartment (or house) again...it is SO frustrating; I never thought using a thermostat would ever be this complicated/complex/difficult :(
The producer is not smart. That’s why he used the name: “Top-Tech” I see why people buy things then return it back. I don’t like this thermostat and I will not advice anyone to buy it or use it.
