Michael BT They're building a butt load of condos here in Philly. Water damage in a condo is a big no-no. We were called on to finish a job some yo-yo started and didn't put and emergency drain pans under anything. Had to redo so much work. They used oval pipe for take offs, didn't connect so many ducts, ran 10 wire to heat pumps that had 20kw heat kits, and on & on. that Took us 6 months to take all their crap apart and fix everything. I'm still working that job. They connected 4 bathroom exhaust vents to dryer vents and 3 to the ductwork. Place is a nightmare. I gave no warranty on anything, that's how bad it is. The owner understands. I'll stand behind as much as I can but I can't screw myself. Wish he called me 1st.
I'm not an advocate of homeowners purchasing and installing their own parts, but this seems pretty straight forward. I'm wondering why Honeywell does not want homeowners installing these.
Jim D they don't care if homeowners install them they are selling them in the big box stores. They put the red sticker on the box as a way to help steer the homeowner towards having us put them in so they will get the full warranty
2 months ago I made a 2 piece drain pan and cut it to fit around the return box and sealed it up with silicone, put a wet switch in that. Would only work on a cement floor like this. But I've had good results so far.

Just saying why doesn’t the customer get five year warranty no matter who installs it? I’ve put in several and I’ve had the customer buy extra ones on their own.😊
Nurfet Alic the sensors are on the unit there is 3 metal pins it sits on that detect water. It's the best way to install these. The cord gives you extra area of detection.
