Hong Sau is powerful Kriya Yoga mantra that can rejuvenate and enliven our spiritual practice. This mantra was taught by Paramahansa Yogananda to his students in preparation for Kriya Yoga Pranayama techniques.
This session was recorded during our March 2024 Equinox retreat, near Pittsburgh, PA. For more information on retreats, immersions and online classes, please see our website.

Blessings. Please correct me if I am mistaken, but doesn’t the breath begin in the diaphragm (stomach expanding) and rise up into the chest during the Ham/Hong portion, held in the 3rd eye chakra for a moment, than verbally released through the mouth in a quick, but resonating Sah/Sau? Seeking to understand the differences. 🙏

Thank you for these guided meditations, Ryan. I do them often (not as often as I like with small children) and they help me find that calm center. I was wondering if this kind of meditation has anything to do with vipassana meditation? Are there any similarities or are they different disciplines entirely? Thanks so much for your work.

I am not familiar with Vipassana except in name.

Hong-Sau means “I am He” or “I am Spirit.”

Thanks so much for this meditation. I did a qi gong energizing practice before this meditation. riding the waves of the heart was, well, the only word that I could come up with, exquisite. Thank you so much for guiding me (and everyone else) in this practice.

Ryan, do you think as a woman we can have children and still become enlightened? I was studying under a Guru who said it will be much more difficult to do so with children. This made me a little sad because I want to have this experience yet I also know my purpose is self realization.

To interject, sorry, I think we need to be fully aware of the consequences of bringing an innocent life into this world to suffer. I believe it's very selfish especially when there are so many humans and animals out there already that need help. Don't mean to offend. But I believe the truly enlightened on this planet have a higher mission than breeding.

What I find is that my breathing becomes very shallow and slow. Almost stopping . The vibrations are strong throughout my body but the Hong and Song following the breath becomes almost not pissible due to the shortness of breath. Am I doing this wrong??
@KriyaYogaOnline
@KriyaYogaOnline 3 месяца назад
Make no attempt to control your breathing, just let its flow be completely natural. Try to feel that your breath itself is silently making the sounds of Hong and Sau. Initially try to feel the breath at the point where it enters the nostrils. - from ananda website
