The swords were literally Herrschers, and Acheron is shown holding the "Howl" sword in 4:17. And eventually wielding the blade of "Origin". So basically, this is a world where Mei doesn't have Kiana so she killed "End" then IX was like "here, take depression"

JP/CN narrator is Kevin! The story told is an exact parallel to the events that occurred on Earth during HI3. - Izumo = Earth - Kami = Honkai - Edict Edges = Divine Keys // Weapons created "using [a Sovereign's] bestial body" just like Divine Keys using a fallen Herrscher's Core. - Takama Divine Realm = Cocoon of Finality - Sovereign = Herrscher - Mention of "Origin" & "End" (Finality) - Honkai World Diva (Raiden Mei Theme) Orchestral Version as BGM. - Shiraga Oni (Narrator) = Translate into Gray Hair Demon i.e. Kevin - Animated Short Title 「虚譚・浮世三千一刀繚断」= "一刀繚断" i.e. Ittō Ryōdan is what Herrscher of Thunder Raiden Mei says during her Ultimate. Even the total number of Sovereigns, their Domain/Power (Element), and the order in which they appear is exactly like HI3.

The 14 Blades of which 12 was a call back to the 12th Herrscher and the last 2, Origin, an Outlier which doesn't suppose to exist and Finality which is the end of all things. The fact that Hino Satoshi was the voice of the Male narrator, gives me hope for meeting Kevin of this world

That last line is so painful and raw. "I knew this world was fleeting... and yet... and yet..." I'm crying.

This is Truly ABSOLUTE CINEMA. 12 Herrschers = 12 Blades. And Origin and End means Origin and Finality. FINALLY HONKAI IN HSR

So lets lore breakdown for anyone interested. Truth = Herrscher of truth It connects to Bronya who back herrscher of truth after evolving from herrscher of Reason Core and 300,000 souls that reside in it. She had the power to create everything that she knows the complete structure of. Sky = Herrscher of Void Herrscher of Void also known as Sirin was the second herrscher. She creates portals basically. Herrscher who did the most damage that decended on earth. Basically destroyed the entire Russia and its neighbours Howl = Herrscher of thunder It connects to Mei herself. She was a very powerful herrscher as well. Her partial awakening was so devastating an entire city was affected because of it. It's called the Third Eruption or the Third Impact (the name of the game because its the start of The trios journey) Mist = Herrscher of Wind Herrscher of wind, Wendy is the Honkai counter part to venti from genshin. She was an ex-valkyrie who became a herrscher after a herrscher gem was placed inside her. Frost = Herrscher of Ice Ana Scharic (from the same lineage as Kiana's mother) was former herrscher of Ice. Fate = Herrscher of death and rebirth Herrscher of death in this era was one of the friends of Sirin and helped her in fighting against schiksal durinthe Second Eruption. Later Seele got the powers of herrscher of death and evolved it into Rebirth Flare = Herrscher of fire Previous Era Himeko was the herrscher of fire. She was the one who recruited Fu Hua into joining moth. She was later killed by Kevin. In current era herrscher of fire core was used to power the godsbane battlesuit that Himeko wears in her Vermilion Knight form. Later the core was inherited by Kiana and she evolved in herrscher of flamescion Thought = Herrscher of sentience Senti is the current herrscher of sentience. She was made by otto who made a Fu Hua clone after killing her. He didn't expect the clone to become a herrscher. She has the power to create illusions and manipulate anyone's psyche Root = Herrscher of Earth. PE era Herrscher of Earth was very powerful it controlled gravity and sunk the entirety of Australia. He was defeated and his core was turned into a weapon Called Star of Eden. Its currently the staff that Welt Yang has. Form = herrscher of domination. It has the power to control people by feeding of their negative emotions. It was a very weak herrscher overall. Bind = Herrscher of Binding PE herrscher of binding came after everyone was using honkai powered weapons and humans to fight against honkai. It had the power to nullify honkai energy. It was made into a weapon called Oath of Judah that is the primary weapon of Theresa Apocalypse Maw = Herrscher of corruption Corruption herrscher was a very tricky opponent being able corrupt any living or non-living things including !machines and computers. In PE, Yae Sakura's sister became the herrscher of corruption. She was harmless but people didn't believe it and killed her. Because of it Corruption herrscher was set loosed and it launched all of the remaining nuclear weapons into the 3 remaining cities of the world. In current era herrscher of corruption is responsible for the dissolution of Elysian Realm Origin = Herrscher of Origin Mei became the herrscer of origin after inheriting it the authority of Origin from Elysia End = Herrscher of End and later finality Original herrscher of the End was the most powerful herrscher capable of resetting the flow of fate basically restarting the struggle of honkai and mankind. Kiana in the end became the Finality herrscher after every other herrscher submitted their authority to her. She's currently on the moon. All the herrschers always appear in order and are responsible for humanities demise countless times. Only in Previous Era humanity was able to combat them because of Elysia playing a major part and an error in the will of honkai. Basically Elysia is the best.

I'm so happy that Mina played HI3 at least until chapter 28 long before the Penacony arc, now she can get the references without any problems, not that this makes the experience for those who have never played bad, but the feeling is totally different.

The 13 survivors of the fights became the Flame Chasers...

I can see how this war that had no true hope of resolving, which ended in mutual finality, essentially, just in different ways, of which, 'Acheron' pushed on despite the hopelessness and tragedy of things, would make her eligible to be made IX's emanator as she would, as the lone survivor of it all, strike at IX as the final blade holder of 'Life,' in a sort of meaningless act of rebuttal despite the lack of purpose that was left in the end. Goodness, two entire worlds vanquished, all for the final note of it to be but a lone woman, who stood at the precipice of nothingness despite all her toil; an embodiment of nihility.

What's also cool is that this is all being shown from Acheron's perspective, or with her as the main focal point. So the part where you see the hand wielding "Howl"(Thunder)... Yup, that's her

Loved the video @MinaAoyamaCh! Can't wait for the next video Girl! We finally get more Lore for Acheron, confirming that she is in fact an Eminator of Nihility, if not THE Eminator of Nihility. This also confirms that she is the Raiden Mei and Raiden Shogun of Honkai: Star Rail, and to an extent, that she did have something to do with Duke Inferno's supposed Death. Maybe she actually did Kill him while Constance, Katerina, Dubra and their Brother were out of the Mansion or something, Who Knows! All we know now is that the Duke was at least Possibly Killed by Acheron and that she might be After the Watchmaker's Legacy for time control or something! The eighth "Thought," - Herrscher of Sentience (Fu Hua....Yatta Banzai!) The ninth "Root," - Herrscher of Gravity (Owl) The tenth "Form,” - Herrscher of Dominance (the puppeteer Herrscher) The eleventh "Bind," - Herrscher of Binding (Oath of Judah) The twelfth "Maw," - Herrscher of Corruption (ER) Than there's Origin & Finality (no spoilers here) This is off the top of my head so if there are any corrections feel free to do so.

Just a note, Himeko was technically a Herrscher, since she developed a Herrscher core. We know this since it's stated in the story that the previous era Herrscher cores were stable, and were unable to make new Herrschers. That's part of the reason they made them into divine keys. However, in chapter 25, when Kiana touched the Herrscher of Fire's core that the puppets got from Himeko, it was able to influence her, and even allowed to become Herrscher of Flamescion. If it was the previous era's core, that wouldn't have worked. Also, the previous era's HoF core is IN Shamash. It literally wouldn't work without it.

The JP's narator (the guy who's talking is Kevin JP VA) If you listen closely, you can hear Honkai World Diva at 4:10 (1:30 in the trailer dramatic ver.) 5:47 (3:07 in the trailer slow ver.) Izumo have 70,033 blades (ref GGZ total herrschers) and from them, they forged it again to make 12 Sentinel sword (ref HI3rd 13 Herrschers).

In the JP and CN versions of the video that male voice over is the same VA as Kevin

I don't know if anyone in the comments had mentioned this yet, but the way this is laid out reminds of when acheron asks us questions at the beginning of Penacony. She first asks "Do you remember me?" just like how the male VA says "do you remember why Izumo forged these blades?" Then they call back later with "So, do you still remember why Izumo forged these blades?" like how acheron asks "So, do you still remember me?" Now I can't remember the exact wording but hopefully I'm not talking out of my ass about this lol

1:14 that thing in the sky that's going upwards as Acheron mei is telling the story is the moon no? The cacoon of Finallity was on the moon in HI3, could it be that the Cacoon killed that world as the moon crashing into that planet after it's last herrscher died?, if I understand it correctly then that moon later takes the shape of a black hole... just like IX (Aeon of Nihillity's) Form. On another thing, it seems that Acheron now has some abillities and powers that the other herrschers had.

I haven't played any HI3 but I've seen the cinematics and gotten some cursory details from vids in the past from various creators as a preface. I feel like a fair bit of this is metaphor as well as being literal, the blades as an example were formed from the kami which could maybe be seen as each Herrscher's power made manifest or the like. But they all failed in the face of a great power such they shattered, you can see the white orb in the back symbolizing the "black sun" seen in the sky. The powers of the others coalesce into two "bearers", focusing on Acheron/Mei using one blade and then the great tower which was End which interestingly has a ring over it perhaps in a similar way to the Herrscher of finality in a manga about the Previous Era. My guess is that Acheron cutting down and destroying End was her cutting down what could have been Kiana or perhaps what became of her since she does make reference to someone who could be Kiana if your TB is female. Then there was the whole "they were formed because of a lie" before going on to describe that they made the weapons for an "end" that they more or less created because they feared its potential existence, essentially creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. What do we do with this information? I have no goddamn idea especially as someone who is only somewhat into the lore but perhaps it can help someone else along with their own theory xD

So from what im piecing together The Aeon appears before the Herrsercher and battles her and wins. And do to Herrsercher being basically eminators She becomes the Herrsercher/ Eminator of Nihility. To keep her u see its control however it constantly effects her memories

I'm loving this so much we have 12 blades but to be less confusing to people that didn't play HI3rd the first 5 Herrrshers are the first generation once and the HI3rd story takes place essentially with the 2nd generation witch use the first 5 Hurrsher cores and 2 more new once awaken in the latest story chapters of p1 to be 5-12 and since they are 2nd generation they are being named for 1, 2, 3... to 7th thus 12 in general and then on top of them are Herrshers of Origen and Finality the 13th and 14th technically final Herrshers thou in lore they share the 13th name spot as they represent 2 parts of the same coin if that makes sense
