Yes compositing started improving toward the end of 1.2! It wasn’t always obvious because most of the cutscenes after 1.2 happend in interiors and dark light scenarios, unlike belobog where most happend in the exteriors natural sunlight. You can compare how they handle the sunlight in belobog cutscene and now in 2.4. It’s very different! As someone who paint, here are the changes; the lineart on 3D model has become so thin it doesn’t help readability of the composition anymore, shadows are now the ones doing the heavy lifting there (chiaroscuro). Bigger value and color contrasts between light and shadows areas. Rely less on local color for readability too (notan). Heavier rim lights, heavier atmospheres and ambient lights. And it keeps improving! The heavier changes happend toward the end of 1.2, after that the improvements have become more subtle each patchs. The most recent improvement isn’t a technical one but a cleaver one. They used the cast shadows of the houses to help the readability of the yanqing vs yunli cutscenes, creating bigger contrast between the focus of the shot (characters) and the environnement. It was cleaver af!
@@ymi8238 You say that it's an improvement but honestly I think the new compositing style looks way worse than what they had before. Not only does it feel odd transitioning from an in-engine dialogue cutscene to a pre-rendered cinematic with a completely different style, I also think the way they dulled down all the colours and increased the shadows make it look kind of dreary
I don’t understand why he didn’t just… do the thing? I mean everyone knows he’s the Imbibitor Lunae, and the Shackling Prison, housing many of the most dangerous criminals in the history of the Xianzhou Alliance, is in complete upheaval, but he still just fights as Dan Heng?
@@generalerica4123 He doesn't fight as Dan Heng. His spear is already a bloody reaping weapon of destruction. His magic powers take up too much space, which is going to be problematic in the prison
@@adriantepes4355 This. And he's already leaving the imbibitor lunae stuff behind. So he doesnt need to turn into the elder power. Dan heng himself is already powerful.
The Luofu doesn’t seem to be able to catch a break with these crises. The Ambrosial Arbor Crises was first, and now we have the resurgence of the Borisins. I like how a fair amount of people thought this was going to be a leisure update of no new serious troubles. Everything is going straight to chaos on the Luofu, and this update was only Part 1. Part 2 is gonna be crazy.
@@yixoEven if she dies, again... Then how exactly you can kill someone, who's dead already? Xueyi have an automaton body, and a few spare bodies. Even if she get killed or crushed, her soul can enter to the other body. Hanya have a bit more luck here than Xuyei, but she can be killed easily, than Xuyei.
@@SylarGKIW You don't kill Xueyi she's already dead, if you wanna perma stop her you'd probably need to blow up the ten lords commission since they're the ones recalling her back from the dead. Hanya biologically at least is just a normal Xianzhou native so you can kill her normally.
@@SylarGKIWI don’t remember if it’s explained how a person in Xueyi’s situation can ultimately die. Because her real body is long gone, she just switches from a mechanical body to the other everytime she “dies”, so I assume that her soul will deteriorate with time and that’s how she dies idk
Actually this story wasn’t actually that bad! It didn’t leave me bored, personally it actually left me wanting more. I want to know more about Hoolay, Feixiao- basically everybody and what’s about to happen to my boy, Jiaoqiu.
@@mimic8193 Hell, finding and listening to the origami birds talking might even be more interesting than listening to the Penacony's characters talking in riddles. God, if i were Caelus i would punch Sunday straight in the face and ask him to talk straight. This goes for most of this arc's characters too. The scenes between Acheron and that old guy too, like b*tch wtf are you guys even yapping about??? Most overrated story arc, Belobog is miles better. People were praising the Penacony's writer as if he's the 2nd coming William Shakespeare.
@@lokrjIdk man maybe some people have good attention span and understands what the characters are saying. Well I'll have to agree with you on Sunday part he yapped a bit too much. God knows how many times he talked about the charmony dove story.
@@labibahhafiz7497 I have had my fair share of experience with games with visual novel style of storytelling, so I am accustomed to heavy dialogues. However, I find Penacony's writing style to be excessively vague and flowery. For instance, the introduction of Acheron as "something something" (certainly wasn't Emanator, forgot what it was) without any prior explanation or context is confusing and disorienting to the reader. Furthermore, the overall writing style assumes a level of prior knowledge and understanding from the reader that is not always present. While I appreciate the attempt to create a sense of mystery, the excessive use of riddles and obscure language can be frustrating and hinder the reader's comprehension of the story. (Damn I really wrote this whole essay just to get my point across, if only I could converse like this irl 💀)
man... this patch story it's really good and the cliffhanger is just perfect. i hope we see Jingliu and Luocha in the next patch, since traiblazer and danheng are stuck in sackling prison now.
This game wound be so much better if we could just skip the cutscenes and watch them later like literally every gacha game that doesn't belong to hoyo, like just let me play the event smh
You're that desperate for likes? Here I'll give you one, poor you, resorting to negativity to get some likes and attention, that's beyond sad and pathetic......
2.4 story is better than the entire Penacony questline with their stupid yapping riddles left and right. God 2.4 Luofu's story is such a breath of fresh air after 3 patches of braindead yapping in Penacony. I thought they would be more after the quest's ending, because i was definitely left hanging on my seat there, a feeling that i never felt when doing Penacony's.
I liked both honestly. Tho that's just me who likes riddles and such. Didn't even consider a bit of it 'yapping' as you call it. But i do understand your opinion and respect it.
@@armin614 Yeah i just wish the writer didn't rely too heavily on vague, flowery, and obscure words in their attempt to get the plot to feel "mysterious" and invoke suspense.
Better is an overstatement Since penacony is so good if u payed attention (which lets be real, almost all the people playing hoyo games have an attention span of a dolphin) More like it has much less yapping and it goes straight to the point faster than sundays yappery I wish more quests turns out on more of a straight-forward approach than going with the mystery and yapping bs in the future, which seems like it and also the cutscenes looks like they have better lighting
