I totally get and agree for them to add skip buttons to their story mode, but idk man, the Clockie statue to me was not a very bad tradeoff. Like you said yourself, that statue rewards you with one of the most busted units in the game, in which, how do you usually get one of the most busted units in the game? Yeah, by paying money and gambling them. With that statue, they incentivises you to at least explore a bit, play the game and all that is free. If you don't have the time to do it yet, then save it for later, since it's not even a limited time event, it's totally permanent. I get that maybe this statue is like a filter to anyone as to notify them of the future where they actually want to push upfront and background storytelling a bit more, so if people felt like this is something that is wrong or something else like that, I guess it's like they're trying to say that the game wasn't made for them. Totally no disrespect though. Good on you to give out this opinion out here, because it's definitely a problem to some of the playerbase and pretty important if the game really want to keep their playerbase who prefers to play Star Rail like a regular, fast gacha game. I'm quite positive that they'll eventually add something akin to ZZZ skipping, we just have to wait and see.
Thanks for keeping it civil, looking back at my vid I should probably have elaborated on what i meant by the take about the clockie statue I dont think the idea of it is inherently bad but the sheer amount you had to do is crazy, im not sure how bad it is now that the airship is out but back in 2.2 if you wanted to get the eidolons for harmony mc (up to e5) at the time, you had to nearly 100% penacony, you had to do a ton of annoying unvoiced quests to get if, and for people like myself who were preparing for firefly, were essentially forced to farm it, since she was hmcs best pairing, and I had no idea they would just give the last one for free, meaning I farmed more than i probably needed to because i assumed the level cap would just go up, and that was kinda torture considering how good the eidolons are Honestly I would have rathered if they just did it like march where you had events to get them instead or made it so the clockie statue didnt require as many levels as it did for the eidolons, or putting them at earlier tiers
@@axHSR Hey man, with civility being a rare commodity on today's internet, it's the least I can do. Glad you replied and given your much detailed thoughts on it. And of course, I totally get it. I would've been 100% with you in this if I didn't do the method I did when I attempted to complete my Clockie statue, which is to chest hunt and do the Hanu Adventure minigames. I wasn't in the mood for the unvoiced quests myself back then, so I tried to do everything that rewards those golden tickets outside the quests. I can confidently confirm this since I literally just finished all the unvoiced quests last week during my achievement hunt, which was far beyond after getting the E6 HMC. Point being, even with how much the game seemingly forces you to play, listen/read and walk around the map and how tedious it actually sounds, they've given many other ways if you didn't really like one method of completing one thing or the other. I think that's kind of the beauty of it you know? This game tried to at least make itself into a proper game, instead of your regular gacha in the market. Which backs up my other argument with the playerbase filter to separate between players who love storytelling and gameplay aspects of it, and the ones who just want to enjoy a pure, quick gacha experience. However, looking at Mihoyo's track record (or more specifically, the Honkai dev team), they looked like a bunch of developers who are trying to satisfy both types of players; the gamblers and the gamers. So I bet you, from this point on, they'll probably tone down with the Clockie statue like a way of getting free character eidolons and just go with the Hunt March's way. I do like it more that way too, since it's way more streamlined. Or, they'll go back with the 1.0 way of putting Eidolons into a store, which in a way, just a glorified Clockie statue with a much lighter progression. Either way, I do really hope the game can and will still cater to most and many types of people, since this game truly is still one of a kind in my personal experience.
I always wanted a skip button in Genshin and Star Rail, but it wasn't until I played Wuthering Waves that I realized how bad it really is to not have one. I actually enjoyed going through and doing random unvoiced side quests because I didn't have to sit there and spam spacebar and click random dialogue choices waiting for it to be over. Additionally in Genshin and in Star Rail, I refuse to do story quests for characters I don't care about because I don't want to waste hours of my time about a guy who I can't care less about. I know some people will counter and say it makes it easy or that there is no point in playing the game if you have one, but if the choice is to not engage at all or force your players to painfully wait through it, it should be a no brainer decision to add a skip button. Star Rail is a single player game, Genshin is a single player game with an open world that you can co op with, let the player make the decision on what they want to care about or not. Also forcing myself to sit through hours of hearing about Aventurine's tragic backstory, when I dislike his character and find him extremely obnoxious, just for the sake of continuing the storyline makes me not want to play Star Rail again after coming back from a 7 month hiatus.
Nah, I agree. I got lingsha the other day, BUt to raise her traces i NEED to finish the story until the end just for those stupid Traces material. Good thing I'm not that far away from the story, but imagine if new player got her. Having skip button would definetly help, and they should also add story replay button for those who forget or miss the story.
Honestly, I would be all in for a replay story button, that would be pretty handy and would give an excuse for introducing the skip button, maybe have some rewards behind taking the time to listen/ready the story if the writes are proud of it, that way we are still incentivised to watch it.
I agree with you 100% of the way this game really does need a skip button along with Genshin. I mean yes as a beta tester when HSR first came out on PS5 I enjoyed the story and I still enjoy it but the game really does NEED a skip button for the non-voiced dialog because I'm not going to read all of that when I have other things to do
The story in that dreamland arc (i already forgot its name) was so boring i just put it on auto dialogue left it in the background and watched game of thrones instead. My MC harmony is still only at e1 lol that statue is stupid
Reading the comments are funny as hell. Ya'll are so bored of this baby game, but still can't help but playing to the point of doing it over AGAIN. I think you guys just have a gacha addiction and are upset the skin (game) for you to gamble is "Boring".
@@dhil1468Completely understand both sides tbh It is a valid argument for those who need to farm different relics or ascension/trace materials that are locked behind time consuming quests. But the people who just want to skip so they're able to get jades without listening to the story are kinda silly 😂 aside from the perspective of gacha addicts, there are those rare few who simply enjoy the combat/exploration aspects of the game and wanna breeze through the lore so they can do what they want. I personally think there is too much dialogue to go through but I still sit through it all because I'm there for the cute characters lmao
@@ThePinkyuu Its not that hard and they know it. Its about what makes them more money which obviously this same non skip option makes most have players stay longer wise. I get both sides, but all i ask is skip not cause of jades but cause of being busy real life. Easiest solution having a past option for quests view or summarys like some games do Blue Archive. Im willing see some storys part when im not busy with idk work, life. This mandatory story non skip just sucks. At least make it optional for side quests and events. Actual story you can keep it without skip button.
@@nimfetkatvoyadetka Its feedback my guy, nothing like the great hoyo community when instead of compromise/opinions rather just shut down anyone with actual point.
Honestly i understand with the need of skip button since story is not some people thing but then whats the point of playing the game? You have no clear goal except beating the game which is easy and the other goal is just collecting character and build them to be meta but not really because why? They'll just add more character to powercrept those meta unit. I know the combat is important but the story is just as important, like c'mon you remove the story and you have a gambling machine with extra step (for f2p). Having no story also made all the characters an npc, like take the Stellaron hunter whi in their right mind would relate firefly being in the same group as blade or how the mc came to existence? With the story they'll just be an npc. And then when you have no story there's no character development or event development how does this relate you might ask? Let's say the simulated universe they have a separate story that talk more onto the history of the aeon imma give an example lets just talk about aha and akivili do you know aha was once part of the astral express? The point is, story help link everything together without story the game is almost meaningless, heck even the thing you combat still need like feixiao boss imagine there's no story and one of the talent mats need her drop then you fight her and wonder "why do i fight her? Isn't she one of the playable characters" how about the anti matter legion "what on earth is this? Why do we kill em? Why are they the bad guy?" If its combat focus, well you're just fighting something you dont even know using character that you didn't even know One of your point is how pointless the clickie statue is because you need to talk to npc to unlock the eidolon for harmony mc, its tedious yes but if not that what do you want? A combat event dedicated to earn those eidolon? Even so you need story because you can't just say "you need to beat enemy from loufu to earn thus eidolon" or would you rather gacha to earn the eidolon, for me its a smart way to lock it behind those because one it push people to try and explore the beauty of the game and one of the major point that i can think of is that it show the more people you help the more proficient the mc became which is why they get stronger alongside their support capabilities Not enough? How about character trailer? You just gonna show them a screen of what thus character do in detail and dont explain why they can and cant do something? Like "this character ult can summon black hole" "this characters skill can strike imaginary yellow thingy" then just end the stream Then theres the event "kill this to get currency yay!!" Like what do you expect out of this? "Oh yeah they ask me to kill for currency so yeah imma kill this enemy" Thats my reason why skip button for me shouldn't be added it just made the game like other gacha, can you imagain where all game can be skip its just a copy and paste but different characters and enemy the only reason i can agree for adding a skip button is for unrelated dialogue with random npc
Really need a skip button, they could always add it optional on side for past watch if they really want see it but for most who are busy would be greatly appreciated. I mean like characters as Luka who honestly really cares about that guy. Lets be honest we care more about interesting ones or as some would say waifu characters than this boring 4 star meh characters event.
I force myself to do the Main quest for the Penacony cause I need the relics for lingsha Oh my god it took me weeks to finish the story I was about to go insane spamming the space bar I really hope they add skip button
sometimes the characters story involvement and development does make me like them more initially i thought jiaoqiu was kind of mid and not very great but his personality grew on me a lot, so i accept him more as a unit (even despite having skipped him, i was very tempted)
I agree. Why should I wait 3 years for one story quest to end when i could complete the entirety of ZZZ in a fraction of the time even without skipping dialogue
Finnally someone is talking about skip option . . Not every one play for stroy. There are also youtubers content creators also players that playe more then one account doing all again doesn't make us happy . And i am sure getting skip option in hsr and genshin in going to next to impossible 😑
imagine playing a baby ez gacha turn based game for the gameplay and not for the writing/world building, just admit yall just a bunch of gacha addicts XD. Fyi there is a lot of game like this if you just wanna satisfy your gacha addiction with a skip button like epic 7 i understand if its wuwa, zzz or even genshin with their real time action gameplay but a skip button in HSR absolutely not lol. Might as well not playing at all, since the game is so ez everybody can just auto and win, if you add skip button and everybody just gonna skip story, then the game literally can offer nothing but a boring simple 2 button baby game. Thank god HSR directors probably would not listen to this kind of trash take, Smh... adding skip button gonna harm the game 100%,, there is a reason why wuwa with amazing combat but still not on top because the story is mid af, and people just press "skip" entirely . turns out there is alot of people that loves story and not just brain dead gacha games gameplay.
Yeah calling hsr a 'gameplay' focused game is just... so wrong on so many levels. Like yeah they add a lot of combat content to the game, but most of it is just recycled and boring, fighting the same 3 enemies over and over again, pressing the same 3 buttons in an infinite cycle(or just auto forever, only moving around in the linear world once in a while) once you've built just a single decent team, with maybe some 'unique' power ups/mechanics once every couple months. The story is like the only thing that is adding worthwhile content to the game. Not saying the story is good or anything but it's like the only aspect I'd say the game that feels like they put actual effort/passion into. Skip buttons are welcome, but I don't think I'd personally ever use one in any hoyo game that I got into.
Yeah, I used to play Star Rail but one of the reasons why I dropped it is because the devs are too proud of their story to let you skip. They won’t let you even mash the textboxes to skim through it. My current home gacha is Persona 5X and I occasionally play WuWa. What do those games have in common? They put a skip button in lol
I agree. The story is bad, bunch of yapping then cool cutscenes, they’re cool don’t get me wrong but I just want my jades man. And holy shit the world quests are terrible so much yapping, for nothing. This game manages to yap so much but say nothing at the same time.
