I loved to hate him as well, I went to see a card at the garden Feb 87, he beat Pedro Morales, the crowd was relentless with their booing and cursing at him and then he said to the fans “You’re a Beautiful audience!” And then I remembered booing turning to outright Laughter. That night was so much fun.

@@tommydecastro2047 Yep, back when we thought it was all real, that's why, our emotions were legitimate, the state of wrestling has gone down though so much that's not the full story. @superimposedfun
@superimposedfun Год назад
Right it is very interesting before watching this I didn't know much about honkytonk man except for the matches I wash around the kid and I always liked this character I always thought that he was o e of the best heels watching this after seeing everyone describe him as cartoony I think that he was much more The Honky Tonk Man than ppl were led to believe still got the sideburns still got the hair slicked and he kind of talks like his character a little bit where some were nowhere close to what they portrayed Hacksaw Jim Dugan was from New York. George The Animal Steele actually speaks extremely well in fact I would consider him one of the best interviewees that I've seen on some of these shoots I mean bordering on eloquent. But The Honky Tonk Man really kind of fits that Persona a little bit like he could see him younger back in the day kind of being that and maybe you know he took more from the character may be in coming up with that character they put more of what he actually was into The Honky Tonk Man but I really enjoyed it I watched all 3 hours of this in most of them watching 3 hours is a bit much. He's definitely a good storyteller

Well said! As much as I despise politics, I know you have to keep at a basic eye on things as these people have such power over our lives and you need to be prepared for whatever junk they've come up with may be coming around the corner next. sending this to my best friend I grew up with, I’m so mad at myself when I was a little kid I used to hate this guy so much! I had no damn idea he was such a nice person, such an intelligent and kind person. I thought he was the mean honky tonk man that would smack you in the head with the guitar! Hannibal you rock I’ve been sending your stuff to my best friend in Lexington. I was going to tell you I got to see people won’t believe this but when I was a little kid I got to see the junkyard dog wrestle the outlaw Ron bass in my high school. People don’t believe it but it was a WWF in those days there was also George the animal Steele was there and I briefly got to speak to leaping lenny this was just before or just when he started to become a genius. In my favorite wrestler when I was a kid, and I know you’re gonna find this hard to believe but he was a heel it was Mr. perfect. I loved Mr. perfect when I was a kid he was such a jerk and he would make my dad laugh, so I’ve always loved Mr. perfect. I’m so sad to hear that he’s gone thanks for doing this man I would give this 30 likes if I could.

Out of nowhere I just heard Honky Tonk Man talking and just couldn't stop hanging on every word, just like this interview. I really like this dude as a person, as a wrestler, and as an entertainer. I love when several wrestlers, promoters or insiders really don't agree on what really happened. Great how different people will see things really different. He really played his role. Me personally, I think him doing any say controversial things like refusing to drop the best or do this or do that, I think he was rightfully covering his ass from this cut throat industry. He didn't want to phased out and to me he is alive like he was back in my days. I think my age, was the perfectly done formula. Man it was complex when it was a ton of territories and minus the internet. What a revolution the internet was.

The part about Dusty Rhodes is completely off...He did wrestle Dusty at SummerSlam '89, but that was when Dusty first came into the WWF not when he was leaving putting in his notice. All the "Hey aren't you?" vignettes with Dusty being a taco vender, plumber, garbage man, etc. was in the spring/summer of 1989. Dusty put in his notice at the end of 1990. He was in a feud with the Million Dollar Man, because DiBiase bought Sapphire at SummerSlam '90. Then Dustin was brought in, in the fall of 1990, and the feud was blown off at the Royal Rumble '91 Dusty & Dustin vs DiBiase & Virgil..Just like two weeks later Dusty was back on TV with WCW saying he retired from wrestling (he was booking for WCW) and was the color commentator with Jim Ross at Wrestle War '90 in February just 1 month after he left WWF. He also has the timeline with WCW way off. Eric Bischoff wasn't in charge 9 months after Honky left the WWF in 1991. Bischoff didn't become executive producer or whatever until 1993/94. 1994 is when Honky went to WCW.

Honest with the comments section: Its impossible to hate Wayne Harris and the health education makes sense on his work rate and lack of bumping. Plus his info on wrestling background is even more important. Example: Jimmy Havoc can get away from over exposed status cause of his hardcore background and Hangman Adam Page because of minds in the business. On the other foot, watch a Kip Sabian & Dolph Ziggler respective matchups and thats Honky Tonky's point.
