I noticed he said "He was good enough to over come it and I was good enough to work with him to overcome it." That's a very modest statement, I respect him for staying humble.

If this was 2015 I'm impressed with how good Honkey Tonk man looks. Time has been good to him. Also was impressed with how honest and gracious he was in his recollections of Randy and the Hulk. There was something special about growing up in the 80s and watching wrestling. Man those guys really take me back.

I saw him AFTER this interview at a local show. He wasn’t like…In his prime but he put on a decent show. He had just left a con where hacksaw was the day before and he started shooting on him. When you look at mic skills and in ring skills, I find it hard to put anyone above the macho man. Great athlete and charisma for days. I dont agree with his possessive treatment of Liz but that's a separate issue. His promos always made me laugh my ass off. He was SO intense and funny at the same time. And the interaction with him and mean Gene was priceless. I haven't watched wrestling in decades. I started watching as a kid with my grandmother who thought it was real. Bruno was the champ back then and Vince's father was running the show. Really miss the heyday in the 80's and 90's, WWE and WCW...even ECW.

@SpScarletSpider
@SpScarletSpider 3 года назад
@@shanewilson8728 The Randy Savage/Stephanie McMahon thing never happened. Savage and Vince McMahon had differing beliefs over his career (with Savage wanting to keep wrestling and Vince wanting Savage on commentary), and McMahon was also upset that Savage took the Slim Jim deal along to WCW. The Steph/Savage rumor started because people decided to come up with a reason as to why Vince refused to mention Randy's name at all. They seem to have reconciled at some point however, because before his death, Randy did a promo promoting the WWE All-Stars game. Chances are Vince and Randy were negotiating a Hall of Fame/Legends deal, as that game was the first time in years that Randy Savage was in a WWE game.

I think most people and wrestlers agree that Hogan was a horrible wrestler. His matches usually all went the same way. What Hogan did do well was present himself as this bigger than life persona. Macho Man was a waaayyyyy better wrestler than Hogan. That’s why there’s really such resentment towards Hogan from other wrestlers. I remember being a kid and reading that wrestling Mag I think it was Wrestling illustrated or something Nd they’d do these what if Hogan wrestled Flair and Flair would always be the winner and as a Kid I’d wonder why, but as I got older I understood, Flair was a way better wrestler.
