Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... Author unknown...

OMG!! I just recently lost my Chihuahua of 18.5yrs. I miss him so much and Coco reminds me of what he looked like at his fragile age. My heartaches for him still and I miss him so much.I am sorry Calvin for your pain. I understand it

I have a 17 year old Yorkie. I already know in my heart. That this be her last year. It's ripping my heart out. Because she's still teaching me so much. So this last year with her. Will be the best for the both of us.

I too remember when Calvin got Coco. It was meant to be, and luckily the client loved Coco enough to let her go. My husband, daughter, son and I always reminisce about the dogs we have loved and lost. We laugh and cry talking about them. Our first dog, an Akita, we got when our daughter was just 8 weeks old. His name was Tika. He was so patient and calm, the children crawled all over him, pulled their wagons, ran and played with them. Sadly when he was 16 we had to put him down. He had severe hip dysplasia, and once he got old was in a great deal of pain. Finally, one day I got home from work, I'm a nurse, he couldn't walk, so I knew it was time. The children were at school, my husband out of town, so I called a friend to come and help me get him into the car. I was crying so hard my friend had to drive. When it came time for his injection, I crawled in the cage with him, held him close, sobbing, and he was comforting me! He licked my tears away, he knew exactly what was happening, and that beautiful creature was saying, don't cry mommy, it will be ok. Rest in peace my darling Tika, we will never forget you. He gave us far more than we ever gave him. God bless Coco, Milan family, Calvin, I understand your loss ♡ Nurse Carolyn

22 years is amazing. Saddest days of my life when I've had to say goodbye to my dogs, so hard to do. But, what a life Coco has had.

I'm crying 😢 I had a sweet girl, her name was GRACE! She lived by her name. She gave me so much for almost 18 years. I lost her 6 years ago and I still cry for her. I NEVER knew so much love and acceptance in my life until she came along.

WOW...22yrs old..that's amazing. I had a cat that lived that long and her son lived to be 20. So many yes ago...miss them a lot. I have one cat now and she's a rescue. She was about 3mon old when I rescued her from a center cement road divider that she was perched on. Someone had to have placed her there because she was way to little to have jumped that high. She has a forever home with me and she will be turning 8 years old in March. Keep up your wonderful work. Someday I hope to be able to have another dog.I just can't right now.

Twenty-two years with a best friend is nothing but to be proud of and grateful for. I'm glad you guys had that much time with CoCo- I definitely remember the episode we, the public, met him in! It makes me bittersweet-happy to see your old geezers at this point in their lives- they're obviously having difficulty getting around, but they're still so happy to share their moments with their humans. I feel that CoCo, Daddy, and the rest who have shared their lives with you, will be happily waiting for you to return to them, someday. Good show, CoCo.

Cesar, you do these 'adios' videos with such dignity and composure. They always make me cry. Calvin experienced that bond that is hard to describe unless you have experienced it.

I just watched an episode where he is cuddling and said Coco is my *soul.* He was sooo young back then. Oh I weep. Don't be sad that it's over, smile because it happened. Coco (and your incredible Father) helped shape you into the fine young man you have grown into ❤

Thank you for sharing this story. We don’t talk about it as mich as we should. I have had dogs all my life. Always 2-5 dogs at a time. The part of saying goodby after a long life is never easy. It’s the part that hurts the most. I make it bearable by knowing they are always with me in heart and spirit. And one day we will meet again. I sometimes get visits from them in my dreams. Thank you for the generous BLESSING of sharing the ups and downs, the bitter and the sweets of the evolution of the DPC and all the wonderful "clients" (dogs) and their "unmanageable" owners. I had a cat like that, that blessed my life for 13 years. She was as diligent to me as a story book dog. I was so blessed to know her. I have a dog now that loves me deeply. He's not as diligent as the cat was and he's very clumsy but I know I am blessed to have the love and dedication of such a dork.

It sounded like Coco chose Calvin, They were soulmates from that moment they met. Coco was his heart dog. You know how they have a saying that when an animal chose you over anyone else, and will only stay with you, you know that the animal has found their "One" and want to spend rest of their life with them. I had a cat, who chose me the moment she met me after being rescued and given 2nd chance at life when she was at brink of death at 5 weeks old. We were inseparable for 19 solid years. We had to say good bye on May 3rd of 2021. Missing her horribly, and it's not very easy learn how to live not having them around you anymore, but always know they're there with you forever, in your heart.

This is always the hard part of a pet being part of your family. I loved Calvin's 'when I can no longer be with his body, I will be with his spirit. That really is so true of people, dogs ,cats etc. God Bless y'all

My heart dog was a long haired chi, named Daisy. She was 13 when she passed. She had sudden kidney failure and I had to make a decision not to let her suffer. I felt enormous grief and guilt. She slept in the bed with me also. About a week after she passed, she came to me in a dream. I saw her leaning against the pillow of my bed, as she always did when she wanted me to lift up the cover to let her in. It was as real as anything that I have experienced. She let me know that she was okay, and I was now ready to move forward without the guilt. That was 13 years ago. I know have three dogs and I still consider her my baby. I still miss her. ❤️

I’m with you Caleb. I’m a Scorpio too and my Chewie is my EVERYTHING. He TOTALLY gets me. I’m disabled and my emotional support dog and no matter how I’m feeling, he’s ALWAYS there just giving love. He WILL let me know when he wants more but then settles down and curls up next to me. He has his relationship with his “daddy” and myself. They are completely different and it works. He’s now going on 3 and he’s well rounded. Although he thinks he’s the leader in our “pack” (myself, my husband and him).😜 I love ALL your videos. Tfs.🤗

🦋❣🦋This video is so close to home for me. I have a 22 year old Chihuahua rescued from the Lancaster, California pound. She's had some close calls, when we found each other, she weighed less than a pound, bald, and was to be put down that day. Her life is a big part of mine. She was a licenced service dog for me for many years, but always like a close friend. A picture of her is my thumb nail. I know my heart will hurt when she is no more, but my memories will be forever. Thankyou for sharing. 🦋❣🦋❣🦋

My dog Jack is black lab/golden retriever. When he and his 2 brothers were puppies their mom would teach me how to discipline them because they were "wild", rambunctious, high-energy, happy-go-lucky, and too curious for their own good. From the age of 6 months until he died at 20 months old, Jack would teach me like his mom did. When I would get frustrated trying to get his brothers to behave he would look at me to get my attention. Then he would DO. Then he would look back to me and say, "See? Do it like that." Ceasar, I've often wondered how you deal with the loss of a beloved dog as these experiences have been hard for me my whole life. Thank you for posting.

I have had many dogs in our life. sometimes a dog comes into your life that is special it’s your soul and spirit you share until the end. My dog died in my arms and I felt her soul leave her body. I will never ever forget that moment, the other dogs I never felt their soul leave their body. My “cookie”my heart she was mine. Dogs are one of gods greatest gifts to us💞🙏

All of us that have followed Cesar & family from the jump grieve along with them when they lose a dog. Daddy was almost a shock. I think we all thought he'd be around forever. It makes US realize we're getting old as well. Lol. I have an adopted 8 yr. old Bull Terrier. He's up there in age. I can't picture life without him. Losing our pets is such a heartbreak. Just hope we get to see them over the rainbow

What a wonderful companion Coco has been to Calvin. Chihuahas are so special 💕 I have a two year old Chihuahua male and he has changed my life. He brings so much laughter because he's so funny and quirky. And he is so incredibly loving and caring with my kids. He sleeps in my bed every night. My husband said he'd never let a dog sleep in his bed but on day two, he was the one asking to have the dog in the bed.
