The song is called "if some body is out there shoot at me". Usually sung when walking out in the open and as loudly as possible. You can also sing it when walking on the top of a hill. But is better to start it up when you get closer to the enemy...when scanning for the shooter remember to stay up as long as possible 5seconds should be just long enough to get your head blown off...Usually snipers are brilliant at hitting fast targets...so remember to move as slow as possible...Snipers are more deadly at night so rather not wait for the sun to go down. Guns are the only tools a soldier needs...a rope and hook would never come in handy. Smoke grenades are of no use other than to play in the smoke...a thermal monocular or gun sight never helped the eagle eyed soldier. A periscope is a child's toy. A circular injections around a bullet wound that stops bleeding is science fiction...

I'm in the Army and I can tell you most of this was just wrong and insulting. uniforms were wrong, guys don't act like that on patrol in a combat zone no matter how much of a shitbag they may be at home. MP's don't really do combat patrols, open danger areas like this are avoided (especially when man made structures are around) they are just exposing themselves and being loud. and nobody would murder a wounded kid who was obviously forced to do this by the Taliban. they would patch him up (if possible) and medivac him away and question him as to where the Taliban insurgents are hiding. maybe if it was an actual terrorist that was in that kids position I could understand merking the guy(even if it is against the Geniva convention.. like he said, life's a bitch) also, if a guy was sniped in the neck like that, his face would have literally exploded. and nobody would be "bleeding out" from a shot to the arm. not bad cinematography but insulting to veterans and service members.

As a career military man I can say this was the most accurately portrayal of combat

Not bad for a super low budget short film. I'm not going to criticize the acting nor the props because I'm sure it was a good and fun experience for all participants. You guys are doing a great thing, keep up the good work.

Not sure if already mentioned, I`m on a random clickstreak - if you do voiceover after shootage NEVER use voiceover recorded at home :) always go out and record everything somewhere outside. Some phrases sound like CS 1.6 or even worse :D but aside from that it ain`t that bad. Some acting looks stiff, but alltogether I like it. Continue guys, you have potential.

You ever come around Denver or Colorado, let me know. I have been working on one novel for 25 years as a hobby. It's solid. What I want to do is tape some scenes from it. It's character driven. Futuristic, but realistic before anything else - to honor all soldiers past, present, and future. Anyway, I just want to do a few scenes with characters. Not cheesy, I promise. Solid.

So much wrong here that even the opposite wouldn't be true: * Walking patrol: stay 10 yds apart so that no-one has the chance to shoot into the crowd and score an easy hit. * Shut the fuck up. * When walking point: Think of what's ahead of you. Never step on a stone your mind hasn't been on a minute before. * Constantly scan. * When a buddy needs to be dragged to safety and it's too dangerous to reach him: pop smoke. * on patrol: half of the guys secures to the left, the other to the right. * if you expect contact: walk slower, make regular observation stops. * if you expect contact: cross openings one by one. Always have an overwatch ready to lay down suppressing fire. * Never walk parallel below high ground (like the huge wall here)... And so on and so on...

ok what can i say about this: well i liked the background music the overall acting was good nice set to film on good location costume looked fine to me as what i look for is plot acting story not what they are wearing. overall i would say this is a 7/10 i enjoyed and watched it full i suspect most of the comments are prob 1 min wonders lol good effort i think james keep it up

hey man just watching this now, i loved what you did and just wanna point out a few things that could have made this 10/10 top level film-making lol 1. the audio on the one guys voice sounded like it came from a recording studio in a bathroom lol all the other voices sounded like they were actually there off a mic used in the field which fits considering its a combat film 2. the sniper sounds sounded like a revolver and not really original, try mixing some sounds up to get something that sounds far away but dirty, heavy and scary. Something that sounds like it would pack a punch. guns need to sound dangerous btw the camera angles were great 3. im sure you already know and im sure you have better vfx by now. be with them) would drag him with them and patch him up. all the uniforms fit if you were aiming for army lol not marines which usually army would patrol 4. wth was that ending, it could have ended emotionally with more thought put into it lol. these are only the things that could have been improved as im super impressed and am thinking about getting into filming myself. just go watch american sniper and take some ideas from that or lone survivor as well GOOD LUCK M8!

It was interesting to watch. I just wanted to know what a SINGLE mp hence he only one with the patch was doing on a patrol 16 clicks away from his fob. Second, a patrol is done with a few more people than what they had , roughly 12 men and they would be more widely disbursed until theyd enter a villahe or what have you. And they are practically yelling to each other while walking through what looked like a rubble town. Before people bash what I'm asking and saying" its just a film". Just hear me out ik its fun amd what not but it puts out a bad image of our troops and makes them look unprofessional. some people won't get it. They are highly trained. And the higher COC would not listen to infantryman bitch over a cigarette. 11x Airborne Infantryman DEP.

This is what you call amateur!!!!? No way this is good well made and it may be a bit of a take from a lot of recent war movies (in fact a lot of a take from), but this is very good. Unfortunately, soldiers face this 24 hours every day this kind of horror. I've decided pretty much once and for all to go with soldiers try to make friends and more with them and help them as much as I can. If I have to put emotional bandages on a wounded by war veteran I'll do it and be glad. If I have to use real bandages ever that too. I suppose you might want to use the word "unselfish" when it comes to how I am towards these guys. Most are just kids trying to do good in the world. I respect you all of you.

May need to do a little more research on authenticity. Stellar camerawork though, and I understand that this wasn't an exercise in military film making per-se, more than it was an exercise in the film making process and camerawork. Well done.
