Make sure when Robert uses that Vevor, he keeps plenty of ice and cold water on hand, the heat transfer through the worm can become an issue.

My parents had a large 3-5 gallon jar of Brandy fruit. They would drink the juice and put the fruit over their ice cream and pound cake. Do you know how to start it. If I remember correctly they got a start from someone. Great live stream last night. 💜

Those are some huge scobies!! It has been a while since I've made Kombutcha. Miss it but had a yeast issue in my body and it wasn't helpful. I want to get back to it again. Robert's projects are intriguing us. Mack wants to try it so he is watching and waiting to see how Robert's comes out. Thanks for sharing ❤🙏

Curious about the Jun one! Girl there are times I haven't fed my hotel for like a month. Thankfully these Scobys are forgiving 🤣😂. I have recycled some of my Scobys into the garden for next year. Are you able to drink it on the carnivore diet? Been researching it since you mentioned it yesterday and it's very very interesting! Thank you! Might help my husband with his many many issues. I don't have issues beside the whole menopause... That has resulted in some extra curvyness. I might try it but of course my husband won't want me to lose much of my curves. 😂

Oh also do you use hot sauce with carnivore diet? It's veggies 🤔. My husband can't live without it 😂

I need someone to come to my house and hold my hand and show me how to do this and tell me it’s going to be ok before I would trust my judgement. Haha. Seriously. I have only had sterilized versions of all this stuff because that’s all they let you buy at the store. I have no frame of reference to compare it to to trust they it came out right.

The first few times I tried kambucha I couldn't stand it. Then one day I picked one up at the store for the ginger benefits and it's like a switch flipped and I fell in love with the taste lol. I look forward to making my first homemade which will have ginger in it too. The process of making alcohol of any kind is an awesome skill set and if not for personal medicinal or recreational use then to barter with!!!! Definitely on my list to learn.

Brandy looks freakin awesome! And omg I gotta try making a scoby, although I am terrified of making a mistake. Just freaks me out that something so gross looking could be good🫣🤣

Did you ever take a shot at making kumbacha? It's wonderful and honestly hard to screw up. If you leave it too long, it's just more vinegar-ish.

I have come up with a Thanksgiving challenge. This year I'm going to make our Thanksgiving dinner with only things I have home canned and is in my pantry/freezer. So my menu will be. Using my home canned turkey. I will make open faced hot turkey sandwiches. Which is my favorite way to eat turkey. Homemade gravy. Mashed potatoes from our garden potatoes. Gf stuffing from boxes of stuffing I bought last January for .79 cents a box. They put them on sale after the holidays. I bought the 30 boxes. These usually cost 7.00 a box! I have been using them all year as stuffing and using the gf dry cubes to make bread crumbs. Back to the menu. My home canned cranberry sauce, both jelled and whole berry.. as I like jelled and hubby likes whole.. My home canned sweet and sour green beans. And 2 gf pie crusts I have in my freezer that I need to use. And will make pumpkin pies out of my pumpkin puree in the freezer from last years sugar pumpkins I grew. I think it will be a delicious meal for no money. I challenge all you home canners and preppers out there to do the same. Let the stores rip off the unprepared. This is what we have been preparing for! Let's do this!

Almost the only true fermented drink (raw not pastured with probiotics added to replace what they killed🙄) I can find in my area is GT's raw organic Kombucha. All of the major grocery stores around me carry it including Kroger, Meijer and Aldi's. 😊

With that SCOBY being so large how come you didn’t trim it to fit the jar better? I know someone worked hard to grow that monster, but is there an up/down side with a SCOBY that big in a small jar?
@FermentedHomestead
@FermentedHomestead 4 месяца назад
The size of the scoby you start with (big or small) doesn’t matter much, just that it’s there. The starter liquid being enough and low on the ph scale is the most important. The only down side I’m aware of is less space for liquid to turn to kombucha.
