Here are a couple of thoughts related to this review: 1) The album artwork for The Tritonus Bell is like the very best Skeletor/Castle Grayskull fan art that the world needs right now. 2) Blaine's back-up pair of Hooded Menace sweatpants is what we should all aspire to in our lives.

A more accessible record that doesn’t alienate the old fans can definitely be done, totally agree with Blayne on that. We had another example from a similar band last year, Temple of Void! As for this album, I really liked it! Album of the year contender for me. Hope the next one continues to be as accessible Also, would really love a Wormwitch review!

Great review and a fantastic album. Almost S tier, but not quite. The Ænigmatum album was preordered months ago, as was Hooded Menace, but I just picked up Devoid of Thought. Good stuff. For my doomier side, I think The Slow Death's Siege a worthy shout out for this week. As ever, Peace and prosperity to you and those you hold dear

That Ænigmatum album is one of my top 10 albums of 2021 and is criminally underrated.. its brilliant death metal that i feel alot of people skipped because of the tech death label..i love me some good tech death but i wouldnt categorize this as that. Its kind of its own thing and definitely worth checking out.

Great feedback for the band, Blayne. Have you heard Mithras, “on strange loops?” One commented that the album is Morbid Angel goes to the planetarium, hilarious. Good album though. And of course, speaking of space , DBC universe, Which I still can’t understand how you Canadians don’t do a full hour-long piece on this amazing band.

That excerpt sounded a lot more melodic death/doom than I remember from the one you showed on the death doom lock horns. I like both crude/death-y death/doom and more melodic stuff, and I've been looking for some new bands, so I think I'll check out this one and Never Cross The Dead too.

HM pulls off another solid album! I kinda liked Unhallowed a bit more but this is groowing on me fast. The heavy metal vibes just fit right in and it's not overdone in my opinion. I'll be spinning the new Jinjer after this peace

I was so fucking devastated when i found out that Lasse wouldnt be doing the vocals on Ossuarium and i was a bit skeptic with this album when i saw reviews and interviews before the release.. BUT! The Tritonus Bells sound like Hooded Menace and Harri's vocals fit perfectly! Ossuarium is great but if the vocals would have fit like they fit on Tritonus it would have been a godlike album.

Lots of Ride the Lightning influence, this is one of my most anticipated albums for 2021. The only album that might eclipse it is Immolation's new one coming out hopefully this fall.
