Probably the most underrated songwriter of many a generation. God bless you Dave. You are an inspiration to so many...

Terrific song and album !

This is a purely perfect song. The song writing composition, the lyrics and the story, Dave's passionate playing, Brad's excellent solo - everything about it. Absolute perfection. This is how you write and perform songs. Keep going Hoodoos, you're not done yet!

Saw these guys with The Connells in Virginia (JMU). They rocked it hard that night. Missing my late best and oldest friend who would drive a thousand miles to see a good band. He was at this show, despite no sleep (worked crazy hours) and driving up from Charlotte with his wife so we could all see the show together.

This song always sends a tingle down my spine - it makes me think of the time I got up and broke someone's heart in the heartless way of young women. He sat there, in house's only chair, staring at me while my boyfriend came over and took me to bed. He got up and left and I never saw him again. So this is for him.

We all had that special girl in our past

I have been a HG fan since the mid-eighties, but I had never heard this song until now. The band's sound and Faulkner's vocals set them apart from everyone. I was lucky enough to see them around '90 live in Greenville, SC at the Upper SC State Fair. There was only about 20 people there due to the weather which made it even better for me - probably not so good for the band. But, it was a great show and one of my fondest memories!

The Hoodoo Gurus... beyond soul. All heart, all feeling, all art, all skill. Aus has so many great bands that sound good live, but these 4 are in another league. "I don't want anyone if I don't have you!".. Right on Dave, Brad, Rick and MArk.

Best band in the planet ever, don't like their english, too fucking bad.

Their English is not the best. It should be 'I don't want anybody if I don't have you'. 'I don't want nobody/no-one if I don't have you' means he does indeed want somebody if he doesn't have her/him.

I will never get bored of this song :)
