Hi Nick, thank you for bringing us along on your adventures in FL. I loved all the content. And I really like the new yarn color picks and can't wait to see what you make with it. I am sure the ladies in the yarn shop were thrilled to see a handsome man in there buying yarn and discussing projects. Do you have a PO Box we can send stuff to? Looking forward to more of everything you are doing in the gardens and your crochet projects!

Oh and yarn shops (at least Sheep Thrills) can wind your hanks for you into cakes. They have an automated wooden swift that does it while you keep shopping 😇

Thanks for the tour! What a wonderful plant and yarn store! lol I would probably spend hours in the yarn store for sure .. so many colours! I haven't graduated to hanks yet .. I'm still trying to get my tension right and a straight edge .. lol the struggles of a beginner! The orange yarn might be nice as a starburst granny square. All the best from Canada EH :)

I’m in Sunrise! I pass by flamingo nursery every time I see my in-laws in Davie. Go see Flamingo Gardens if you’re near by Davie too. Such a beautiful place.

@@URBANFARMBOYS you become very aware of fiber “breathability” when you live in south Florida - cotton and linen are my clothing fabrics of choice - but I tend to crochet with wool blends and use open stitches like granny squares - “cold” winter nights in Florida don’t really require much And once summer temps hit like we have right now - less is more

Nick you will need a yarn ball winder and a yarn swift. Amazon has these two things on their website, Also some craft stores have yarn ball winders and yarn swift.

Bin zufällig auf deinen Kanal gestoßen,einfach toll,ich freue mich über deine wunderschönen Pflanzen.Ich habe kein Glück, irgendetwas mache ich falsch.Auch deine Häckelarbeiten gefallen mir.Ich komme aus Deutschland und mache schon 70zig Jahre Handarbeiten.Ist das Gefühl nicht schön wenn man mit seinen Händen etwas geschaffen hat.Und anderen damit eine Freude macht.Habe für Enkelchen ,und meinen Kinder alles gestrickt.Heute stricke ich für arme Kinder, oder früchen.Ich wünsche weiterhin viel spass bei deinen Häckelarbeiten .Liebe grüsse aus Deutschland.Bleiben si😅

I have been to a couple of decent plant shops in the Boston area (my friend lives in North Reading and I visit him a few times a year). But I've heard there's a great one in Connecticut - Logee's -- have you heard of it? I haven't been there yet but it's supposed to be amazing!

Yummy yarn and plants . My two favourite too. I would recommend a ball winder and a stiff. Get a nice one so it lasts 😊

I have the Amish style swift because it is very simple and has less parts. I bought the basic yarn ball winder from Knitpicks which holds just 3.5oz. of yarn, but ended up later buying the one that holds 7oz of yarn from Stanwood. Sometimes I cake up skeins of yarn that are over the 3.5oz weight.

Hi Nick hope you’re enjoying Florida. The yarn shop is amazing. I have so many house plants, getting a new plant stand for more plants. I crochet and diamond painting, and taking care of my plants so I keep busy. The yarn you purchased are beautiful. 🌹✌️👍🧶♥️🪴🌵

Love the tour of the nursery and the yarn store; I'm a plant person and love house plants, the succulent section was awesome! I also have a small vegetable garden so I enjoy all of your videos with both yarn and plants. Yes, you need a yarn winder/swift; I have the Knit Picks one, is inexpensive and easy to use. Have fun!

Yes the twisted yarn is a hank you turn it into cakes. It is easier to use a swift to do that but a willing partner holding it while you cake it works as well. Higher quality yarns are often sold in hanks

I have intractable migraine so haven’t been able to pick up hooks in 5 weeks hoping this flare will lessen soon and I can get back to doing what I love not just watching it. Nick, if you buy the generic version of hemorrhoid ointment it will turn your red tan. I’m a retired RN . Worked for the hospital that developed it. It was formulated for burns. Never asked how it got to the gluts . I slathered it on a nursing assistant . Stopped the pain and heat. Next day it was tanned. You need the old fashioned greasy ointment.

Great tip! Never heard that one before. I use hemorrhoid cream under my eyes! It makes the bags go away almost instantly. Pretty amazing stuff actually. I wonder also if it started on the butt or if they figured out it helps the butt later! It's an amazing product!

But didn't buy any of those cute planters for the small pots? I loved seeing the garden stores... I am not a FL person, though would go for a visit as that's where my mom and step dad are. Love the yarns. Sounds like you had a VERY enjoyable trip.

Yes, getting a swift and a ball winder would make caking up your hanked yarn much easier. Knit Picks has both. I have their ball winder and it works well without breaking the bank. I have had my Knit Picks ball winder for many years and it still winds well and smoothly. FYI, We Crochet is the same company as Knit Picks and sells all the same things + crochet tools and minus the knitting tools. I think the price point for free shipping on We Crochet is lower too.

Yes I got a fair bit of attention! Only positive! I think most people weren't expecting to see a young-ish guy crocheting on a clothing optional beach! I joked that I was making myself clothes to put on! :-)

i live in florida i am not lucky we have two seasons, hell fire season and hurricane season -_- and its humid and hot all year which sucks because i love knitting sweaters that i never get to use T.T if i could afford to i would move in a heart beat

Thanks Dee! I use music that's non-copyrighted from Epidemic sound. I'm not sure if those songs are available without an Epidemic Sound membership, but the songs were Auxjack - Mezcal Negroni, Osoku - Wanderlust, and Rand Aldo - My Old Lantern!
