Love it! I'm so inspired! Lisa Lottie is one of the first hoopers I saw on RU-vid. I never put my hoop down again. Sometimes I forget that if I do put in the time and effort, the move eventually comes. I never thought I'd learn paddles and breaks, but they finally came! Thanks again for this tutorial! It's definitely something I've been wanting to learn :-)
Thank you for this! The technique for knees together rather than moving one leg has improved me heaps and finally can rise hoop from knees to waist. In my 2nd week trying 2 hoops and just getting the hang of actually getting them to split. Both would go up and down together. Lots of flukes and noisy drops with metal hoops but determined.
I can't maintain it to long, because it takes so much work, but I can do it! It only took me a week, probably because of this video. Thank you so much!
hey there! I recommend that they are all the same size but if you do have ones that are slightly smaller try and have them higher up on your body, so the biggest one you have on your knees, the second biggest on your waist and smaller on your chest... thats really only if you dont have any other hoops though! if the difference is very minimal in size (like 1 cm) it shouldnt really matter!
Lisa Lottie is such an inspirational hooper!! I have been looking for tutorials for splitting hoops for ages. I wonder if anyone has any advice on what sort of hoops might be best to use when you are learning to split hoops? I am currently using 20mm tubing of MDPE (blue water pipe) and they are 38" diameter. Is it better to use lighter or will these be ok? Also the 2-3 hoops I am using are 'roughly' the same size, but do they need to be Exactly the same size? Thank u hoopers!!! X X xx X X
First of all, I love that Lisa Lottie has a friend that will tell her something looks awful--lol. Second, thanks for the tute! Whenever someone sees me with more than one hoop--they want to see me do THIS. Looks easy to a non-hooper.
Hi, do the hoops have to be Exactly the same size? or is it ok if they are roughly the same size? I have 3 hoops that were made at separate times to be 38" but I think they vary a little, will it make a difference? Thank you hoopers!!! xxx
I notice that you put a lot of effort into rotating the hoops with full hip rotations. Is that how you normally do it? It looks kind of exhausting if out in heat or for long periods of time. I hoop for 90-120mins usually (no breaks) but I only use about 5-10% of effort. You can simply use your core (not hips) by keeping 1 leg slightly in front and gently tapping/rocking the leg to hip the hoop at every rotation. If you do it right, you will feel an ab crunch. Imagine 1.5- 2 hours of ab crunches every revolution of the hoops! My abs are unreasonably strong just from this, which is why I can keep hooping without rest! Unfortunately without strict diet you never get to see them 😆 But I can do 100 pushups a minute for example and abs jut out at the smallest movement. Try this method and see how you like it! Also with age some people's hips become less stable so this method is safer
