Hoover USA's Convertible model U4127 in alpine green & oyster white was sold from circa 1980-85. It was the popular budget model in its time along with the slightly-older 4.3A or 4.8A single-speed goldtone model U4119-the first thermoplastic-base Hoover USA Convertible cleaner. Two attachment sets were available: U4901 5-piece & U4903 Deluxe 9-piece. Features include: 4 height adjustments, steel agitator with brushes & beaters, 4.8A single-speed motor, 9 qt. disposable bag, 13" thermoplastic base and motor hood. A very nice vintage Hoover!
@Vintageman1971 : I'll have to think about it, just got this vacuum a week ago, and been trying to get a convertible for a while, and no i have no other hoovers.
last time I saw one of these it was at a grocery store near my old house. I could tell it needed to be replaced as the zipper on the bag cover was broken and supported with safety pins. I knew the pins wouldn't hold for very long.
@Vintageman1971 : Most Likely no, sorry it took me almost two years just to obtain a convertible. they sell like crazy on ebay, and hard to find at flea markets.
I recently moved into my own apartment and I needed a vacuum so my parents gave me the one you have in this video (which used to belong to my grandma). The bag really needs changing but the problem is that I don't know how to properly change the bag of such an old vacuum. Could you please explain how to change the bag or make a video showing how? Thanks!
