Hoover USA's Decade 80 model U4385 succeeded the Decade 80 U4153 in 1984 with its power surge motor. Manufacture ended in 1988 when it was replaced with the Decade 800 U4501. I've been unable to find the company's color names for any of them, but they are all attractive in neutral or common colors that retain their universal appeal. Thanks for the commentary and demo.
Hey Bunky you look good with that vacuum.. it matches your shorts. Lol. Yep the Hoover Convertible models outperform others .. I have 29 in my collection and a few Eureka reverse convertibles.. I think the Hoovers groom the carpet the best vs Eureka. Nice video.. can tell you had fun. Jimmy
Glad to see that you are doing well. I need to finish fixing up my commercial version of that machine the Decade 800. Something about a good ole direct air machine for carpets. Did you know you can get the Hepa Bags for that machine if it is the top fill bag over the bottom fill.
@@Bunkysworkshop The top fill Hoovers like that should take a Type A bags. They are available on Amazon. I bought some for a Windtunnel freebie I got on CL and used the affiliate link in Performance reviews to buy mine to help support his channel. I love Hepa "fleece or bags as some call them over standard paper bags. Better airflow and little loss of airflow suction as the bag fills. I just looked at my bags and they are Type Y Hepa and the package says it will fit the Decade 80. I think Type A, Y Z have some interchangeability. I have Type A and Type Y bags so later I can check my supplies and compare. For my free Windtunnel Alex did a video on that exact machine and had links for the bags, belt and filters that I needed so I just ordered from there.
Sorry had a little pet Emergency the day we messaged and I forgot to get back to you. Anyways I did get my A, Y, Z bags out. Do you have a way I could send you a few pics comparing them. I have the old Green Hoover Bags in A,Z, white Allergy Paper Y and the Hepa A and Y. The biggest difference is the bag size.
I can take a closer look for you. The one thing is the brush roll bristles are more stiffer then the other model. I do want to check and see if my model has the sonic bar or not. I would like some air fresheners now that you said they smell so good but can’t find any. Hmm 🧐
Hi John, I’ve been doing many phone calls on behalf of this machine. I did find out like you had said that this is a Soniclean machine. Soniclean has the residential model and the commercial model. The only thing that I can find that is different between the two is the brush roll. The commercial model has the stiffer bristles. The lady I spoke with said the motor is of a bigger amp for the commercial model. This I haven’t been able to see for myself as of yet. I hope this makes sense for you. Ps. Date? How did it go? Do you have a wonderful time?
