A first from Hoover! A vacuum cleaner and fan heater in one machine. Yes, now as you vacuum your home, you can provide room warming power from the 2300 watt motor. I believe this is the highest wattage Hoover cleaner I have shown on my channel, but does high watts mean high suction?

One of the most delicate parts of the ear are the tiny hairs lining the middle ear. There are around 15 thousand of these structures, and they play a fundamental part in the hearing process. When sound waves enter the ear canal, the hair cells bend in response to the level of sound they encounter, passing the waves further down into the ear. But if the sound is too high because there’s too much energy, the hair cells will bend over and stay in the position, meaning they won’t be doing their job and you won’t hear as well. This is something many people have experienced after attending loud football matches, for example, some sounds can be muffled for hours or even days afterwards. In most cases, the hair cells eventually recover and revert to their original, upright position, and then your hearing is fully restored. But if they frequently encounter loud noise or if it’s particularly loud on any one occasion, the hair cells might die, and they don’t regenerate or grow back - resulting in permanent hearing loss. The eardrum is also affected by noise that’s too loud. Its function is to vibrate when sound waves hit it to send sounds further into the ear for processing. As many people know, loud noise can tear or perforate the eardrum, and so, you don’t hear properly for a while. As with damaged hair cells, the good news is that the eardrum is capable of repairing itself when it’s torn and is usually back to its old self in a few weeks - although in some cases, intervention in the form of a patch is required to assist in healing. Loud noises can also damage nerves in the ear, causing symptoms in addition to hearing loss, like tinnitus, vertigo and numbness in the face. If the auditory nerve is damaged due to loud noise, it most likely will stay that way and it can’t be fixed. People suffering from auditory nerve damage will usually require hearing aids to recover some of their hearing ability.

Keep in mind Decibels are an exponential scale, so every 10 DB is 10 times louder, so this machine is still a couple times louder than a EU regulation machine, and probably 50 times louder than a new Miele or Sebo.

My gran had a pure power 2100 watt , sounded just the same no dodgy soft start though, used to get red hot and one day went pop while i was hoovering her hallway it also had that red brush roll and i remember turning it upside down one day because it was barely grooming the carpet and nearly all the bristles had snapped off and it was virtually bare , nice looking but poorly made.

Without the noise does get on ya nerves . Its shame they dont make good suction machines like this now . Ive a challenge for you lets do a pick up comparing video with this one to a dyson v11 v12 or v15 and lets see how they compare . As the dysons are fab picker uppers but so is his would love to see rhe difference . The wattages of our vacuums here in America is still pretty high like this one. They tend to have good suction, but it seem to me some of that extra power goes to the brush roll. Correct me if I’m wrong but since this enigma was a higher wattage, it was able to cope with your plush style carpet, bs some of your other vacuums that are under a thousand watts that tend to stall and shut off.

That's from week 11 of 2014, which is very close to the time that the first stage of the EU lowering of power came in in September 2014, when it was lowered to 1600W max I think. The final stage came in in 2017 when we had 900W max by law. The soft start should not sound jittery like that. I had a 2100W Purepower from around the same time and that had a very smooth motor acceleration up to full power. Definitely does not sound right.

It's right. It's a high powered motor, it takes a lot of force to drive that motor up to RPM, and when you start it that slow it takes a long time to do that.

The first generation Hoover Freedom upright hood/foot pedal deign seemed to be a bit better than the PurePower and Enigma machines - it is a shame Hoover did not adopt the first Freedom design for their later bagged upright machines.

18:25 Nope there were vacuums with higher wattages like some Siemens Synchropower power edition vacuums that had 2500 watt motors. But it is extremely ridiculous how far they went up and I bet that if the EU didn't stop them we would have domestic vacuum cleaners with maybe 3000 watts. But it might be interesting if you would get one of those Siemens(or I think Bosch also did some) just for fun😂
@ibaisaic
@ibaisaic Год назад
I never said that this was the highest wattage vacuum cleaner, I am aware that there were higher wattage machines available. I’ve featured a 2000 watt Siemens on my channel and it’s very unlikely I will get another.
@stevejones1972
@stevejones1972 Год назад
I've got one, a Siemens Z6.0 Power, cylinder vacuum cleaner, rated 2500W, bought brand new around 2013, and still pretty much unused in its box. It's the most powerful vacuum I've ever bought, and I dont recall ever seeing a UK vacuum cleaner with a wattage higher than 2500W. Miele came fairly close with the S8 range of cylinder cleaners rated at 2200W, but I dont recall ever seeing an upright in the UK higher than 2300W. Having so much power really was pretty un-necessary, as using the Z6 at full power would cause so much clamping force on the floorhead it would make the vacuum very hard to push. These days, with the cost of electricity in the UK at £0.30 per kWh, using a vacuum rated 2.5 KW would cost £0.75 per hour to run.
@erikkruger1760
@erikkruger1760 Год назад
@@stevejones1972 Yes they would be pretty expensive to run nowadays. Over here in Germany it would cost 1.05€ to vacuum with a 2.5 kW vacuum cleaner(the average cost for a kWh over here is 42 cents). The highest rated wattage on a vacuum we had was 2000W which was a Siemens Big Bag 3L. But we only have hard floors so there‘s not deep down dirt to pick up which is because our 600W Dyson with the pneumatic head is perfectly fine
@stevejones1972
@stevejones1972 Год назад
@@erikkruger1760 Thats crazy, the Siemens is a German brand, made in Germany, but the 2500W motors were not sold to the Germans, really odd that. The Z6.0 was not a very popular machine here in the UK, it was not sold in many outlets, I got mine from an independent dealer at a knockdown price because no-one else wanted to buy it. Bosch was more popular, even though Siemens and Bosch were pretty much the same company. I dont think there are many Siemens Z6.0 vacuums left in the UK now, they were pretty rare when they were being sold. Miele S8 was much more popular, and still being sold today but now known as the C3, but no longer 2200W. I have an S8730 which is also another rare machine here, but never actually use it on 2200W, usually on half power - it cleans well enough on carpet using less than 1200W.
@erikkruger1760
@erikkruger1760 Год назад
@@stevejones1972 well there were models like the early Siemens sychropowers and Bosch logos that were only sold with either 2200, 2400 or 2500w(I saw some 2500w versions in expired offers on a second hand website that is only really operation in Germany) but I think those were the top of the line models that weren‘t widely available. But I don‘t know if the Z6.0 was available in that variant🤷 but all in all it‘s just crazy that domestic vacuum cleaners went up so high in wattage. I can understand that commercial ones might require more raw suction power or like multifunction machines but not the vacuum that we use everyday
@LlyleHunter
@LlyleHunter Год назад
On this side of the ocean we never received vacuums with higher wattages than 1600 because anything much higher would have flipped most individual circuits in our homes where we have 120 amp service and our electrical is divided into zones within the house but even our higher wattage machines were loud and they also ran very hot. As you demonstrated with this machine the performance gains weren’t proportional or necessary as we found that 1000-1100 watts with a brushroll delivered exceptional results as Miele and Sebo always supplied us with machines in that range and our domestic premium brands never got into the unneeded horsepower races either.
