Thank you! I disassembled mine and noticed the carbon brush had actually stuck so worked it in and out a few times to clear the dust. I then re-assembled and voila, all working again :) Only took 30mins or so.
Excellent tutorial. Would just like to add that after I installed the brushes and fixed the E08 error code on my machine, it was super noisy and started displaying an E09 error code when it entered its spin cycle, indicating some problem with the motor triac on the circuit board. After I reset the machine/ran it through self-test mode and put it through a few more noisy washes, the noise and new error code disappeared and the machine now works normally. I would wager the new brushes needed some time and a few test washes to "bed in".
I have a Blomberg washer that failed. In North America they are rare and it is almost impossible to find DIY repair tips and help. Based on this video I took the plunge, inspected my brushes and one brush was completely worn down. Replacement carbon brushes are also scarce here and insanely expensive but with a bit of research I found some in the UK (where they are commonly used) and had a friend mail them to me. Reinstalled, problem solve. Bravo and thank you.
Husband as asked me to thank you for your video , you have saved him having to buy a new washing machine only cost £8 for the brushes and about a hours work altogether .
thanks for doing this video , after lots of swearing and cursing to get the electric connector to disconnect i , out of frustration , tipped the washing machine over on its side and saw the bushes were there sitting looking at me , as others have said i wouldnt have had the confidence to start this , keep up the great work

The exact same motor as what was in my mums machine, got the brushes off amazon as shes impatient and wanting next day delivery. All done and washing machine back up and working again, saves her money as she was close to buying a new one until i had a look at it.
Brilliant video thanks, got the bushes. 10 minute job, back up and running. Glad i came here first as Hoover's website states that it's an issue with the motor sensor and i needed an engineer. Happy wife and wallet

Thank you so much. I replaced 2 times for every 3 years already and the machine keep working just like new. But I don't know why, the second time the washing machine won't start because of the brushes is finished, there is no fault code at all.
Hi Paul,I've been in touch with your help desk. They were going to help me decide whether i needed brushes or the whole motor. The phone line provided doesn't seem to work. Les.

I changed the motor brushes as they were totally worn down. I’ve put the machine back on and the drum is rotating now. At the end of the cycle, I am still getting an E08 Error flash up is it a case of waiting for the Motor brushes To bed in or is there something else wrong?

Fantastic tutorial - thank you. I want to buy the spares from you but currently showing as out of stock - do you know when they will be back in stock. Thanks again.
I was getting E08 error code so I followed the steps on this vid and was able to fit new carbon brushes, although when I got it put back together it only worked once and is now doing the same thing again, same error code even though new brushes fitted. If anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful!
@@How-to-repair Hi Paul, I was delighted to see my machine working again after replacing the brushes. The old ones were worn exactly as you described. But, the same thing has happened with me. Strangely, it finishes the washing cycle, then shows E08. Door will not release. I then put on a drain and spin cycle which allows the door to release when finished. What is to be checked on the motor again?
I had the same problem with my hoover washing machine E08 code so replaced the carbon bushes as they were worn did 1 wash and it flashed E09 checked to motor again and refitted the carbon bushes and made another wash and at the end of the wash its now E08 Fault again cannot figger out what what the problem is...
Would this be a cause of clicking? I have a hoover dxc c49w3/1-80 machine. And with power off but door open it does some fast clicks in a 2 second burst or so. We did have e08 flash up and it stall on rinse & spin. So wouldn't finish the cycle so reset the dial to rinse and it carried on
Hey! I have a Candy's Grand Evo 1702D, the machine runs perfectly, there's no problem with the rotation speed, the drying and draining is totally normal, however, when I try to use the machine on wash cycle (any), it runs for sometime but after 10 minutes or so shows E08 error. I've also noticed that the time gap between two rotations during the wash cycle is big enough 2-3 mins. After watching this video, we tried changing the carbon brushes but it's all still the same. Since the machine works fine during drying cycle, could you suggest what's the problem?
Could be until they ware in Thank you for leaving a comment, I would love you to leave your opinion on our poll about manufactures building in obsolescence to appliances. ru-vid.comUgkxygHomnUySd_bYjaJBdEHPO6T4dYo9Ahm and this is for you ru-vid.come432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's is what keeps this channel going. Hi, my hoover displays a E08 error half way through a cycle no matter what cycle I have it on. I've had new brushes fitted a few days ago but can find what's wrong. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Ive just replaced the motor speed sensor on this model washing machine as it was displaying e08 now it spinning with the belt off but it just falts out with the belt on meaning not turning. ive looked at the capacitors on the main board & the smallest one looks black suity onit ive spoke to a local engineer on the phone explaining that the bushes looked good & motor also plus fitted new speed sensor tacho but still getting this problem do you reckon that it could be the smallest capacitor as i put a screwdriver against it & i can feel it clicking as it cuts the machine out do you reckon it could be this capacity ? ? ?
In my home I have one candy grand O washing machine, past one week keeps on buzzy noise while spinning and at the end it displayed e07 ( error). While taking out the clothes there is hot and some smoke. What should I do, kindly guide us

First thing I would check is all the wiring on the circuit board there is a chance if the carbon brushes were badly worn. You may have damaged a component on the circuit board, but without having a machine in front of me I'm unable to be much more assistance. Sorry this happened before Christmas. Hope you have a good one @terryharkins4891 this is for you ru-vid.come432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍
