Sifu Ku is fantastic. I trained Hop Gar for 4 years, 4 hrs a day and its still embedded in me, every lesson. I love Sifu Ku! He was definitely the real deal and these techniques work very well.
I guess it's all about context. I've seen traditional styles shown this way that look totally different in combat. The forms are taught so the student understands the body movement, mechanics and chi but in an actual attack everything is sped up with great emotion behind it. You're kidding yourself if you limit this system to the video you see. I've seen this system work VERY WELL and I'm not a practitioner of this art at all! So much more behind this art. Don't be naive.
always great to see the traditional arts being performed with such skill. these are the roots of all modern martial arts and yet still have much to teach us all. it's a shame that the folks here can't just watch and try to learn without being disrespectful. if this doesn't appeal to you then quietly move on. but remember there is nothing you see in mma fights or even on the street that doesn't have roots in a traditional form. closed mouth, open ears= knowledge
I just love that traditional piece of Chinese music. Especially when used with a kung fu performance. It was of course brought to the world by Jackie Chan in Drunken Master around 1976😊😊💕💕
I love Hop Gar.... its a great martial art one of the very first and real experiences that stayed with me, although the journey continued i have come somewhat full circle.... now I must find the Master again.... Will he teach me & share the knowledge again.

Trust me!! I have personally felt the power of my Sifu who I out weighed by 100 lbs!! His skinny b forearms, skin soft as a baby's butt, but the forearm hitting me was like a steel pipe!!!
How would you like to be temporarily paralyzed! I was paralyzed for about seemed like a minute. Just standing there! Later looked in the mirror looked like a hicky! Understood my sifu did this to a fellow who visited our school. He called out my sifu and my sifu did this maneuver on him!
