At the beginning lizzie hated hope because she thought hope said awful things about her but that was just Josie lying to her because Josie liked hope and thought lizzie would steal hope. Lizzie and hope became friends and had arguments like friends do. Until one day hopes humanity went off and she put lizzie’s dad (Alaric) into a coma. Lizzie wanted to kill her and hope wanted to kill lizzie and they were at eachother for a while until hopes humanity came back on and they made up.

here's an explanation, if ur interested: well it's an enemies to lovers relationship. they started off "hating each other" based on a lie that lizzie's sister told her so she wouldn't go after hope (bc she had a crush on her herself). lizzie later explained her "hatred" was just to mask how much she admired hope and wanted to be her friend. once the lie is cleared up they became best friends. still with the banter of a frenemy relationship but they loved each other. then hope becomes a vampire and does sth vampires can do, turns her humanity (all her emotions off). they then become ruthless monsters bc they don't care about anything and only an incredibly strong emotional tether can get them back. while in that state she puts lizzie's father in a coma leading to lizzie wanting to kill her but once she gets the chance she instead tells her she "hates her [...] for making her love her" and can't do it. hope then tricks and kills lizzie leading to her ALSO becoming a vampire. to explain the sirebond: in tvd it happens between damon and elena. it is sth very rare. but when elena gets turned into a vampire by damon's blood she gets sired to him bc she was in love with him at the point of becoming a vampire. so it is implied to be a romantic connections and means that the newbie vampire will do anything the sire tells them to. so when lizzie is turned by hope's blood she is sired to hope and again unable to kill her. they team up for a while, even lizzie telling hope she'd willingly stay sired to hope bc she doesn't want to lose that connection but when hope makes her kill someone else lizzie breaks the sirebond instead and gets away. that betrayal is the incident that leads hope down the path of slowly starting to feel sth until she gains her humanity back and they, in short, make up again.
