Super thorough review as usual. Way more useful detail than most vids / mags. Good job! The only other thing which might have been useful to see is a close up of the shoe to pedal contact points when clipped in - I know it depends on the shoe etc . On lots of these big platform pedals you end up just resting on the pedal cleat mechanism and not the frame of the pedal.
Haven't checked for update videos on these but 2 yrs on how we're the axles? We're they like Shimano where they seem to last forever? Thanks for the review BTW. Very helpful and I think I'll buy some from what you've shown us.
How's the ease of clip in/clip out compared to SPD? I'm a crappy mountain biker, and always had issues clipping out of my older Time pedals, and would end up falling over. Went to flats for a while(Hope F20), but decided to try clipless again using Shimano SPD, which I'm having far fewer issues with. But I'm a bigtime Hope fan boy.
Thanks for the review! I’m seriously considering these, do you have a shoe you recommend? Looking for one I can unclip, walk around to get a bite/take a pic of the scenery on the trail then get back on. I see people pulling up and clogging up the stairs in shoes that they don’t look like they’re comfortable to walk 5 feet in so want a nice all around shoe
I think bad ability to walk with is only with SPD SL like cleats and shoes, because there is no surrounding at the cleat. Mostly all SPD or better to say 2-bolt systems do have these surrounding at the shoe, so you don't have problems with walking.
Hi consider are 100g lighter than mallets LS, you notice they work good? Maybe downsde its only can use pripietary cleats and hope maybe less frecuent on worldwire shops, but this pedals look great. About shoes what you like more giro chamber 2 (think they are heaviers?or Cranks? In therms of shole grip, comfort.. Thanks a lot
They have be excellent so far, The crank brothers shoes feel much lighter, the grip is about the same and the comfort is good but they are long so I went down half a size from my normal size shoes.
@@jedmtb thanks Jed, still doubt between mallet E pedals or LS, i came from shimanos Xt.. And about shoes not sure if Mallets or mallets E, de Enduro looks more sole for walking up but los the race area to use the cleats.. Any advise for enduro use? Thx
Hi, I think the Shimano M530 are good pedals to start with as they're cheap and reliable. I would start with the spring tension set low so you can remove your feet with ease until you get used to them.
THE WEIGHT IS WRONG!!! Your weighing scale is on the carpet, that makes it inaccurate. Weight it on a solid surface. Actual weight is about 437g. After watching this review, i almost bought it replace my nukeproof horizon cs titanium. Thank god I DYOR.
