HOPPER VIDEO - Front Loader Packing a Full Load of Trash!

Nice video! Hopper shots are oddly satisfying to watch in my opinion. But the Maxon/Gomez packer is really flawed with the single piece sloped panel design. A lot of that spillage and repeat cycling could have been avoided if the blade featured a type of plow shaped anti climber to prevent debris from bubbling over the top of the packer.

This guy is going to have fun cleaning behind that blade. Sound of a real Diesel engine vs the crappy new CNG is good to hear.

Awesome to watch, a very entertaining 10mins! It's one thing to see the blade clearing the hopper in an effortless 2-3 cycles, but it's something else when you know it's actually packing hard and the cylinders aren't completing their full extension. I loved watching the rubbish creeping up the blade as it went further into the body, and then gradually falling back down into the newly created void. Pretty intense engine sound, that scream of the pump is full on and you have to appreciate the change in tone as the hydraulics come under high load during compaction, before that instant relief when the packer is retracted. I think an awesome part was around 3:55 when those sheets of fibreboard or whatever dropped right down into the path of the packing face and you could see them being pushed along into the point of the body with the highest load density, along with the other material almost bounced out of the way and curved upwards. I know the hopper floor is better protected by leaving garbage to cushion the fall of incoming loads, but I would've loved to have seen some 100% hopper clearances where everything was rammed away into the body, so you could clearly see the actual compaction on the lower end of all the action. Still a very enjoyable watch regardless, nice to see this kind of perspective on an FL when it pops up sometimes, so this definitely found its way into my favourites =] I swear the hopper cover stopped way too short at the end, or is that actually the full amount it seals the hopper on this truck? hahaha Then you come to my side of the world and on most the trucks it's twin hopper lids opened and closed for every bin - you'd need a proper bird's eye view to achieve a video like this!

I like the best thing about this video that at 6:41 the pillow manages to escape from being squeezed harder and harder between the garbage bags for a day I always think it's sad for pillows and mattresses that they hug all nights after years just being put on the road without pity to be slowly pressed flat in a garbage truck

Now that was sick, very nice work dude! Glad you had more footage of this truck, I was watching your video of this truck the other day and the hopper shots are always so fun to watch. The clip at 6:40 and the other ones after that had me so anxious lol, I was shocked that more stuff didn’t fall over the blade. Reasons like that are why I love front loader hopper shots so much. Plus that hopper cover was a nice touch as well, I don’t think I’ve ever seen one on a Maxon being used. Very entertaining upload bro!

If homie actually cleared the hopper this would've gone much more smoothly. The Maxon blade sucks on cardboard but packs a hell of a garbage load. If you know what you're doing that is.

Nice video! Being a front loader driver for a couple months and I love it. Used to drive side arms and definitely there’s is a huge difference. It’s just amazing how much you can throw in there in just one can. Tell me about it when I spent almost 2 hrs cleaning up a can I throw behind the blade on my second day 🤢🤢🤢. It was a dunkin donuts one so do the math. Nastyyy! 💩 happens.... Be safe !

I remember when I was a kid front loaders had a lid on top of the hopper that open each time they dumped a can

This compactor makes me think of stationary reciprocating ram compactors. The ram plate facedesign forces the material up rather than down into the charge box where it gets compacted. The stationary ones have a flat face ram so the stuff doesn’t go up. Interesting to see how these work. Normally the compaction mechanism isn’t seen in FL trucks.

Wow awesome catch !!! I particulary like that we've seen a Victoria's Secret bag get packed and also in the last part that box with a women picture on. Haha I wish we would have seen this one get packed as well, but he closed the door instead cause it was full.

Loved the overhead shots and that classic Maxon scream. I don't think I'd like that blade though, doesn't seem to do well once the body is loaded. Still, a good watch though.

How many dumpsters can you fit in 1 load before heading to the dump? Also how many dumpsters do you do in a day and how long of a shift is it?

If only they made the wall steeper, would the garbage be less inclined to climb out.

How these people know when the truck is to full with trash falling over the blade?

I don't understand why the driver doesn't use the hopper cover more often, to prevent spill-over. Ya, it ruins our view but it would be more effective. Some trucks have hinged covers that stomp stuff down with every tip. I don't understand why it is not standard.

Not efficient at compaction. The blade doesn't even go inside the enclosed portion to compact the trash further. The trash is forced upward with many cardboard boxes and bags remaining whole and not even crushed. Rear loaders are far more efficient.

Were they intentionally trying to break a hose or the truck?

Not an effective design. The hopper blade should be curved at the top. Too much garbage spills over the top.
