I've noticed everyone is either reacting or jamming to all those artist, that's amazing. We need lyrical artist not this mumble bs and Eminem might of silenced them for a while now, but ultimately it's up to us to make sure that the right artist gets successful cause at the end of the day it's the fans that make or break an artist.

The way he raps this song with so much emotion, frustration, anger...it always gives me goose bumps.

Ill Mind 7 is probably my favorite. It gives me chills every time. It is an angry, frustrated letter to God that kinda reflects my conflicted feelings. I *WANT* God to be real. I *WANT* to believe. I *WANT* there to be a heaven. But it is so hard to have faith in something that is not guaranteed. At the end of the day, I do believe I have faith, but admittedly, it is not very strong. But I guess if I do *WANT* all these things, then I *HAVE* to believe.

Shaq I'm sorry, I'm a fan but this was not it... the whole video you're like 'do you hear what he's saying?' 'He's talking facts' 'this is the truth' and 'this is my favourite Hop joint'. Bro you missed pretty much the whole point of the song. Not trying to front but he's talking about how everyone is brainwashed BECAUSE they grew up in a society that imposes belief in cristianity, and he refutes it completely. He's saying the bible is BS. He personally believes there may be a higher power but he fell off dogmatic religion through doubt. The fact that you interpet him as a christian who is having doubts like (from your own words) everyone else, that at some point may think 'what if this ISN'T true' is exactly the dogmatism he's trying to fight in the song. People are so brainwashed into it that not believing becomes the abnormal. He's saying he has come to realise that it's completely absurd that the norm is that you should believe, and he has been called a heretic for falling out. Not trying to single you out though man. It's just that the state of american christianism skews everyone's views in all subjects related to this. I'm sure plenty of people read it like that on the first listen too, coz it's riddiculous for yall to hear a rapper saying he's not christian, and it's the opposite of what you were saying at the start. You said you thought it was crazy that he would get beef from saying he's a christian rapper, and yeah, that would be fucking crazy! Name me an american mainstream rapper who admits in his rhymes that he's not christian. Every single one is dog, and that's the point, that is why Hop gets beef for this and why this song is so ballsy and powerful.

I'm actually surprised that it took you until the end to realize that this is a song about his struggle and loss of faith. You're usually dead on with the meaning behind a song, but I guess we all see things through our own experiences, and as someone who has been through and is STILL going through that struggle, I guess it just resonated with me immediately.

I've seen only 3:50 minutes of this reaction and I already know that Shaq will be shocked when he finally realises what Hop is talking about. lol

Hopsin was the reason I got into rap 5 years ago. Songs like Sag My Pants, Am I a Psycho, I Need Help, and all of his Ill Minds just blow me away by how talented he is. Also his newer stuff like The Purge and Witch Doctor are dope too. There’s plenty of his stuff I didn’t mention, but there’s plenty to check out if you want more.
