Hopsin should start an online course for beginner producers. He came from no knowledge in the 90s to producing full length albums in just a few years so he would know where to start.
Massive shout out to all the bedroom producers trying to tell a multi million dollar record selling artist that his technique is wrong 🤣🤣🤣 you layer them kicks hop!
I thought this was a awesome live I had to record it. I am very happy you got some value you out of it. Bless up from Canada man stay safe buddy. Add me on Instagram @smakshade
Personally, i wouldnt recommend stacking 3 kicks on each other. Thats a very easy Way to get your kicks to clash. If you want your kick to knock, just use 1 kick and learn how to mix. Personally i used to clean up the kick with an EQ, then i use fruity waveshaper and turn that up a bit and then i compress it and then i got 1 kick that knocks thoughout the track. Not to criticize Hop tho. He clearly knows what he’s doing.
yeah, 3 kicks is a little excessive. with 1 good sample kick, just use eq and level it. hell, if not compression, you can use a soft clipper/transient processer to make it "hit hard" and stand out in the mix without actually clipping in your DAW or clashing with other frequencies.
@@jean8104 Every instrument you’re using in a beat has a frequency range. So lets say you stack 2 kicks on top of each other. Kicks usually has a place in the low frequency range. Those 2 kicks are, most of the time, going to clash with each other because they’re both taking up the same space in the low frequency range at the same time. Hope that helped a little bit. If you want to know more about it then there’s tons of videos on YT about how to EQ where they show how you can prevent instruments from clashing. I can recommend a YT Channel called “in the mix”, he knows what he is doing and has helped me alot.
normalize the hi hat sample too, normalize someshit if it sounds low and quite dont really have to layer the kicks really also just bring up the velocity and maybe a touch of fruity distortion bring it down some cents and EQ it ***NOTE***
