I’d like to mention for anyone who doesn’t already know since he doesn’t seem to mention it here, Apex machines mostly spawn at night, so just travel to the nearest shelter to progress time until night and then fast travel to the machine site. That should spawn an apex machine. You can also see in his video that all the apex machines shown were at night.

The Shield-Weaver armor was the best. One hit free when fighting the big machines was the most powerful buff Aloy could get. Unfortunately this one was removed (or to be more precise it can be found somewhere but was nerfed to uselessness in Part II) so thanks for mentioning a few alternative armors here :)

Carja Shadow was my favourite armour by far, so its a shame there wasn't a better variant of this - particularly like the green version of it.

I always play “helmet off”, most of them are goofy looking. Plus I like to see Aloy’s Facial expressions during conversations.

I agree about the Shadow Carja armor, I loved that look in Zero Dawn and Forbidden West.

If you don't want to knock the difficulty with the arena the explosive spike thrower will carry you through most of the fights.

For a solid versatile armor one can acquire pretty early on is the OSERAM FORESTER (very rare). Acquire it after side quest BREAKING EVEN where you defeat a rock breaker that’s cockblocking everything in a huge valley. It’s a very balanced melee to bow stamina armor with a strong repertoire of defense.

The stalker legendary armour is my fave. Its just so good looking

You can also get the Carja shadow from plainstrong after helping the village north of the town :)

The Tenakth Vindicator was my armour of choice. From what I could find, it's one of a few Mixed Gear armour sets, and that's how my playthrough was turning out. That Critical Hit bonus damage was too good to give up.

Solid breakdown my dude. Would love to see a bit on coils unlocked with armours (e.g. Nora thunder not needing the stamina plus coil unlocked by upgrading a different armour, due to overlevelling...)

The behemoth armor set is my fav aesthetically. Especially when you change the color to the red and white or black and gold. Sadly the attributes are kinda useless. Apart from smoke bomb. I use them all the time

Catwoman-style Carja Stalker Aloy will always be the best. But I do like the Tenakth Sky Climber, Tenakth Reaver, Oseram Forester, Carja Trader and Utaru Gravesinger as well.

Love the perks on Nora thunder warrior with those weapon stamina and ridiculous concentration power, however it is not a very good looking set and I prefer tenakth vindicator from the painter side quest so much more.

I will never take off the Carja Stalker Elite. It is the absolute best looking armor in the game with no comparison. Pair it with the Blood Dusk dye and Carja Hawk face paint and it’s a 10/10 look. The funny part is that I don’t even use traps so that aspect is irrelevant to me, but not being seen or heard by machines until I want to engage them is surprisingly fantastic. The concentration armor is great but I think concentration is slightly overrated to be honest. I’ve never been in a fight and been like “damn, I need more concentration”. It’s basically always there when I need it. So yeah, I’ll take the Stalker armor any day of the week. It’s got awesome style, fantastic defense/resistances, and is based off of my favorite machine to boot. I just wish I had more dye options. I love Blood Dusk but I want other color options as well. I think an all black dye with chrome plating for example would look amazing.

I've used the Nora armour line from the start, besides when i was doing bandit camps and the fight pits, i instead used stuff to help me melee

I’m glad that in forbidden west, they added workbenches to upgrade weapons which I’m way more happier about. I was kinda annoyed in the first game you have to have the amount and right rescoures to get better weapons. But I enjoyed the Dlc more then the main game for zero dawn. and the outfits look more unique even with the helmet because I didn’t like most of the helmets for zero dawn which gave me a struggle but overall for this game rn is amazing i love everything about it

My vote has to go to the Tenakth Vindicator as my go to armor. My second choice was the Oseram Artifacer, and next was the Oseram Forester armor, matched up with any of the red/black/yellow Tenakth Desert Clan face paint.

Carja Shadow is the only blue armor I actually still have in my inventory. Also Nora Thunder I feel is not just the best stats armor but imo the best looking Legendary Armor with either Frozen Wild or first option paint. The 1st also has a little black in it.

It really sucks that you can't just find armor you like and keep upgrading it to legendary. The green carja armor is my favorite by far and I hate that it's stuck at green level.

I prefer the tenacht recon armor. It's awesome especially fully upgraded. Also, for the people who were review bombing and saying it's because aloy is ugly to them ..... I dare you idiots to check her out in that recon armor and then tell me with a straight face that woman is ugly.... it's impossible.

I prefer the look of the carja trader over the carja stalker elite after dying it purple of course. 😎

Dude i was so bummed i had to swap out Carja Shadow with a better set of armor. It's just a cool design

I wish you get the armor that the far zeniths have, kinda like a shield weaver 2.0.

It's just such a shame they buggered the upgrade system in this game. Grinding for hours for Earthgrinders and primary nerves for just one of these armour sets broke me.

If you like the carja shadow armor. Check out the Carja Behemoth trapper armor. Its normal colour is white with red. But you can dye it full Black with gold accents. Looks really good

Honestly, I’ve been rocking a dyed carja crop-top that was gifted to be on an early mission and I’ve been just fine. Fully upgraded.

i kinda wish there was this option to let one outfit look like another one (kinda like in ac odyssey where you could let one chestplate look like another one)

At some point into the game i maxed out my level and most of my weapons were legendary so i stopped caring about stats and wore what i liked.

When I got to mid game I was playing almost exclusively with the Tenakth Reaver for a while. Because paired with Tenakth facepaint it looked like Aloy had gone full native. I just LOVED how she looked in this armor.

Nora Legacy so also a great choice. It’s +2 silent strike heal ❤

If you want to spawn apex machines forward the time to NIGHT at the shelter and then fast travel to the machine location. Apex variants spawn at night time.

Love the carja shadow too still use it to restock my medical plants in plain fights hahah. I did notice that no video mentions that little perk of he outfit, can't me the only one that noticed it right? 😅

Carja shadow armor is pretty awesome and the best looking armor in my opinion, I am super grad they added it into horizon zero dawn forbidden west it was my favorite armor in the first game and it still is in this one the only thing I would of want is for it to be a at least a purple rarety

The only thing i wish they added more of was spears, i want different spears like a legendary spear that deals explosive dmg when hitting an enemy with a power attack etc

Upgrades for armors and legendary weapons are insane. Some machines are ridiculously hard to kill... prefered the first one ... by far

The Carja Shadow is from the first game but now you can buy a red dye for it which I personally really like. I finished the game with it and still use it🔥

What they mean when they say roll more before stumbling, it's when you spam roll you will stumble and slow down

You can do arena after broken sky mission its one before kulrut..

Nora thunder warior is armor of my playstyle, pure ranged

I really would have like to seen some of the outfits from the first game be a leaat purple rarity

I was hoping for a zenith like endgame armor. Like the shield weaver from the first game

I miss the antique power armor you got in the last game by finding the power batteries.

Nora Thunder warior Armor is very good but that low resistance to plazma is very annoying from the new machines using them

I really hope we get a better version of the Nora anointed/champion outfit it will always be my favorite. I also wish we had like a summer Nora outfit.

I use 2 bows and no other weapons and I have yet to change my armor mostly because I never think about it. Don't like traps, trips and not a fan of melee

yeah i was sad to learn i couldnt dye things black or purple. dyes are fixed to their tribe. great for game/story flavor bad for personalization

Minus plasma damage is a big no go. If you get full plasma on you that will just unleash a nuke on you once its timer is up.

Just a tip for the apex ones. They just appear at night.

Since the Arena and Melee pits are so difficult and almost impossible to do I will never see some of these armor sets

You gotta hunt at night for the predator versions. You'll have a higher chance finding them.

You got to find the cards of behemoth outfit it's purple that's the best looking one in the game it's got a Dye that's black like a shiny metallic black and then the fabric is like gold

A not for you guys who just get rid of green and blue mods and weaves, the weaves and mods you craft as you upgrade legendary gear are green and blue level. I didn't even know I sold the weapon stamina +2 one, and now I don't think I'll be able to get it back. I have to either start a new game, or wait for New Game + to come out to fix that error.

Also applying first carja dye makes whole Armor looks even more black and dark red.. definitely one of the best looking armors

Its a shame there is no banuk or quen armour. And i would love to see old designs returning

concentration bonuses are useless cause i never run out of concentration the problem that it doesn't slow the time enough i still struggle to hit machine parts with it
