The achievement associated with this doesn't specify needing full suns, and I was so defeated when I realized what I needed. Seeing how it can be done efficiently helps a lot though, thank you!

managed to finally get past the first trial after many attempts (48 seconds). Dunno if they patched later because another 2 machines were added to the trial (another scrapper and watcher) which I didn't see in your video. Which means you really gotta watch it, you can end up finally getting under 55 seconds only to get killed by the other two machines. That stormslinger just is not worth dealing with, it's just way too touchy to be worth using outside of the trials.

Alternatively can hit the power cell on one of the scrappers and the explosion will also stun the 1st 4 small enemies together, then tie down ravager

doing these trials on ultra hard first i feel is the most satisfying way to earn the trophies..it definitely made the dlc as a whole much more exciting. when i reached the final hunting trial with all the scary machines i was like "oh shit here we go again" lol. fighting all those fireclaws all over the map has depleted my healing items and all the meat i need to craft i spent on fast travel items since i had no idea there was an infinite one lmao. i got 4:51 on my first attempt with that trial.

Agreed! The second challenge I got on my 1st try, The third challenge I got on my 3rd try. But the first one took me like 12 attempts. A lot harder than anything else on Ultra Hard. (I only have Ikre's challenge left)

I hate the first Trial. Its very hard to get, despite being so simple. Had it been *exactly* a minute, I would've achieved that. But nope. 55sec is just too short for it, even you had only ONE second to spare.

My only problem with the hunting ground is The scorchers at the beginning. I’ll end up wasting 2 minutes beating them and then end up with a silver medal after the frostclaws

@@Katanalein Nah, it's actually really easy now that I've it done multiple times. Someone else posted a video doing the entire trial in 53 seconds which is just crazy lol, but I got mine down to 1:20 -1:30 consistently. The Ice Rail is the way to go. Give it a try. Fuck this quest for real. I spent over 11k shards replenishing ammo for this dumb ass challenge. Tried this guide to a T and after 4 hours and losing all my shards I gave up and deleted the game from my PS4. Last trophy I had remaining for the DLC

The challenge is really very difficult and presumably you can't lower the difficulty? It's always annoying when you have to give up but maybe it will work out if you try again sometime later. But first take a break 😊

1) Save before going in 2) Restart from Save if you know you're gonna fail This way you don't waste all your shards on ammo

I'm alway a couple seconds short of first place in these trials. After watching this video I think I need to get a better arsenal before doing these. I have base ropecaster and blast sling.

It is definitely the most difficult challenge in the game. I used end-game gear when recording this video. Better gear definitely helps! Just keep trying and you'll definitely make it.

I'm an idiot. I replayed the whole normal story on ultra hard (passed 100%) and completely forgot I could add three arrows to my bow... It's been a while since I last played it on normal... Face palm.

Damn....so to get first place in frozen wild hunting ground you must have good aim with your bow, tactical , and skillful with your weapon....and all that you do it as fast as you can None of that I have.... That's why I only got third place everytime I tried

It's the Banuk Powershot Bow, you can see/read the name of the weapons when I change them. Pausing the video helps 🙈

Clicked on the video to find any cheesy way to do the last challenge. Found out how op impact bombs are. Dude, i've been doing this fucking "Onslaught trial" for 30-40 attempts, due to how bad my aim is. I managed to beat it with a quick bow (idc about its' name) and sticky bombs. Also, first challenge was way harder for me, cause i thought, that ropecaster wouldn't help. Thanks god devs made machines 2-3 times weaker on theese challenges, felt satisfying to kill small machines in 2-3 hits with an upgraded light arrow.

i fucking hate this game. was going for 100% plat, and this is literally the worst part of the game. the hunting grounds are the least fun aspect. put down and wont bother finishing the dlc as cant get past this bullshit.

Oh, I forgot that it is locked in NG+ (I don't really see the sense of it) So yes you could only reload a old savegame before NG+ (so you may also have the shield weaver outfit) and play only the DLC until after "For the Werak" (third quest) for unlocking all trials at the hunting ground. But I totally understand, that you don't want to waste more time as necessary on the DLC!

I'm not sure I understand your argument. Would it make a difference if you play Ultra Hard in your first playthrough or Ultra Hard in NG+? Besides the better equipment in NG+, is there a difference when you play on the same difficulty? Or do you mean that I played through on Ultra Hard but the video is not in Ultra Hard? Based on the stats of the weapons (especially Ropecaster) in the video, you can easily see that it must be Ultra Hard as only on Ultra Hard "Tear" is reduced.

Katana most of the time when you’re playing ng+ on the hardest difficulty it’s harder because you already have the equipment there. Not in all games. Though. Either way. It’s shocking on how good you are at the game. I’ll be going on it very soon and I’m on that bit.

I think Ultra Hard is easier in NG+ because in NG+ you get access to much more powerful weapons and modifications. Good luck with the Hunting Ground, I found especially the first challenge very hard!

Lol you beat that first trial by the skin of your teeth. I did that one on my very first try in just 31 seconds. Wasn't even trying that hard. You really don't need to bother roping anything down, the Stormslinger is plenty powerful enough to not bother doing that. The key is to simply freeze the Ravager before taking it out with the Stormslinger, as that will make it fall fast.

And you did this on Ultra Hard without getting hit once? I doubt you can do it without ropes. But as it is easy do make videos on PS4/PC I really would like to see it :)

@@Katanalein What are you even talking about? Why would you need the ropes? They are completely unnecessary. You should be killing the small machines first anyway, as they die within seconds, so why even bother roping them? And why would you get hit, unless you completely suck? The Stormslinger practically does the job for you. The small machines die almost instantly an the Ravager does as well if you Freeze it first. It's quite simple really, nothing hard about it. I don't make RU-vid video's tho so I have nothing to show you. The difficulty really doesn't make any difference for this "challenge" either way.

It was literally my first and only attempt at it too, am sure I could do it even faster if I actually tried to, probably significantly faster. You don't suck, but your strategies could be much better. Believe what you want though.

@@Katanalein You most definitely don't suck, I've seen a whole lot worse that's for sure. Lol but you say I'm a backseat gamer just cus I don't post to RU-vid? About 90% of the RU-vid vids I see of Horizon are what I would classify as sucking hard. I am worlds better than just about every RU-vidr I've seen posting vids of this game, of that I can assure you. Seems anyone can just post their vids on RU-vid these days without any sense of pride. Seems very few ppl have any skill with this game for some reason, it gets old real fast. Maybe one day if I ever start doing RU-vid vids I can show off my skill, which is a whole lot better than most everyone posting to RU-vid, that's for sure. All I have is a screenshot showing my time for the challenge, but maybe I'll post it if I can find a way to do so.
