Some testing with Hornady 73 grain ELD Match ammo, from my SPR. Huge thanks to @ChristianGrest for sending it my way. #brownells #bureauofpropaganda #ar15 #spr #testing #hornady #match
Heck yea brother! Looks like that’s the load even with the oops. Really cool to see this progress. Motivation for me to get out and try some groups in a couple of mine. Been a while since I did some groups.
Man I appreciate you! I feel strongly about this. A proper bench is in order, and I’ll revisit all this again, applying what I’ve figured out and learned over these last few weeks.. all a man can do is get better from here!!
I have had several M1 Garand Match shooters tell me, to never fully insert a round into the chamber of a semi-auto rifle by hand. Always let the bolt do the work. It's easier on the extractors and has less chance of a slam fire on a gun with a floating firing pin.
I shot 2 groups of it yesterday for the 1st time along with my usual 77gr AAC and 77gr MEAD. The 73gr was not good at all. I was extremely frustrated. I was expecting it to be my best 5 shot groups. But it was my worst. Will retry later this month.
@scott2228 I have plans to revisit some of these different weights and brands, now that I have a bench. Some of the variance I experienced in my accuracy, looking back, I feel was a lot to do with me as a shooter. I feel better now about my shooting as I ever have. Thanks for watching
@@j_c_hunt that’s a great trigger group and company.. just a thought for a SSA-E by geissele… lighter first stage and then even lighter than your current GS2… My understanding, which could be wrong is that’s your trigger is more of a fighting trigger than a precision shooting trigger. Even the LaRue MBT-2S is between the SSA-E and the GS2…. LaRue is under $100….. I’m really liking your series about your spr fluted BA 18” 223 wylde 1:8 twist… I’m currently in the process of building an almost exact version of yours. I have been working on this one for a while and then you come along and doing great work on your project build.. Solid brother…
@drewedinoregon appreciate the kind words! I chose the G2S being two stage, because most bench shooters use a 2 stage, that and I always enjoyed the 2 stage trigger in my M1 Garand. I have plans to pick up one of their single stage triggers to put in my C7 rifle.. once I do that, I’ll do a comparison of the two someday.
